My old shoes fell apart when it started raining, so I got these explicitly because they were waterproof. They fit well and comfortably, they look nice, and they function well, save for one crucial flaw: They are very slippery on wet surfaces. This, to me, is unacceptable, especially for a shoe that costs this much. Even my old, terrible, leaky shoes will grip a wet surface better than these will. I almost fell numerous times while wearing these. They function just fine on wet concrete/asphalt, but if a wet surface is made of wood, plastic, metal, tile, or rock, you will slip and fall. I had to return these. I didn't want to, since I like them otherwise, but they were simply not safe for me. I see that there is another review here that says the Vibram soles grip wet surfaces very well...but that was definitely not my experience. In fact, I got another pair of shoes, which also had the Vibram sole, and they suffered from the same problem. Far too slippery. I returned those as well. My next pair of shoes will have a Tarantula sole - designed explicitly to grip slippery surfaces. No more falling down in the rain.

Did not get my money's worth.
While this is without a doubt the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, that's about where the good things end. I have had this shoe for 3 months and the uppers are coming apart on the left shoe, have completely come apart on the right shoe, and the mesh sides are beginning to blow out along the seams near where my toes meet my foot. Also the backs of the lining have completely ripped where my ankle may rub when putting on or removing the shoe.
Will not be buying another Merrell product, as they are obviously of poor durability.

Unfortunately this pair did not work. I got my feet wet all the time. Very disappointed.

At first, these shoes met my acceptable expectations regarding fit (although they seemed to be somewhat generous in sizing) and general comfort. They were perhaps water resistant, but not waterproof when walking through wet undergrowth, ferns and such along a trail, that came into contact with the shoe uppers. However, the quality, or more correctly, the lack thereof, showed in the first few months of casual wear, when the toe cap tips indicated separation. The big issue with these shoes were only noticed after 12 months. With only causal walking throughout nine months, the black Toe Caps of both shoes disclosed significant separation at the base of the uppers where attached to the soles. It looked as if the adhesive used to glue the shoe components together had dried out and lost it's adhesive quality. In short, these shoes I purchased are extremely deficient of manufacturing workmanship. For the record, I'm not a kid on a skate board and hard on shoes. I'll soon be 75 years of age during 2014.

I don't know, but neither Merrell, nor Keen. I'll be looking though ......

Fourteen months after I got them they completely fell apart. The shoe separated from the tread, and opened a big hole that water pours into. This happened on both shoes. How rough was I on these shoes? I wore them on the weak ends, and about every other day to play a round of disc golf. Don't know what I'll get next, but it won't be Merrell.

I like the shoes. I just wore them for a week of scout camp and they did well. However, upon returning I have discovered that the sole is separating from the shoe. The shoes are only 3 weeks old. So, now they are sold out, so my only option is to return them and get something else. Considering 3 weeks of use and they are already falling apart, I can't recommend these boots to anyone.

They are comfortable and fit well -- but not waterproof at all! My work involves walking through boggy areas and the water starts seeping in almost immediately. Really a disappointment after other Merrell shoes I've had that had excellent waterproofing.
