My husband loves these shoes. They are out of the box comfortable, made of nice leather and stylish. He likes the fact that for the style of shoe, when it is on the foot it does not look bulky, great to dress up/down, or wear with a kilt!

Great boots, once I got the right size. I might have lost 1/2 size, so it was probably my fault either way... My first pair of boots like this, and it takes a while to get used to - different feel when walking as compared to other shoes, but totally worth it. Born quality, obviously, and very well made, leather all the way through. Looking forward to wearing them for a long time to come. Will probably get another pair, in a different color. And as always, the Zappos experience is perfect!

They're good casual-wear boots, well-suited for Fall or Spring days around town. Fine for what I wanted. They're not really built for serious wet or for any sort of work. I have treated them for some added wet weather protection, but I don't yet know how well that'll work. Workmanship and materials seem good, better than average. Note that despite the Born name and the "Opanka handmade construction" bullet on their description, these are not made anywhere in Europe. Mine were made in China. The Bornshoes.com FAQ says they make their shoes in China, Mexico, and Vietnam. When I originally got them the tops felt a bit tight but stretched nicely with just a few days of wear and are comfortable now. They do have a tiny bit of arch support, but not much. Without some additional support, they're probably not going to be good for longer walks.

These shoes look better in person than in the pictures so I'm very happy with my purchase. They are also super comfortable, particularly in the soft padding off the heel. My recommendation is to be careful while wearing them as they seem to scuff pretty easy. If there is any downside at all, I'd say the laces get untied very easily since they are so thick. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

They are my go-to shoes for work/less casual but not dressy social events in fall and winter. Very comfortable (like most Born shoes), durable, stylish. As another reviewer said, they are not waterproof, but I have treated them with Mink OIl, which waterproofs them and conditions the leather nicely. Also, one of the original laces fell apart after the first winter, so I had to replace those. otherwise, I plan on wearing these through this winter and likely the next one. I am 200 pounds and lives in a colder, snowy climate in the winter. These things are very durable. And because of the lining/padding and construction, they are pretty warm with a pair of socks on.

I believe my husband likes them. When asked if they fit he says " Yeah, I guess". Then I ask, "are they tight or does your heel slip when you walk". His response, " I don't think so"...I have asked him to wear them around before he takes them to London for vacation. I guess the proof will be in the proverbial pudding after walking the cobblestone streets for 6 or so hours....

I usually will find a D width a little snug and an E width just right. However, after wearing a few weeks the D usually fits perfect and the E just a bit loose. Since this shoe only came in a D width I figured I was safe getting it, especially since I've had other D width shoes by Born and they were great. Wrong. The shoe is VERY tight. I'm just hoping in time it will stretch like the Born's I've had. It's a nice looking shoe.

These are beautiful boots, but for me they were too tight in the wide part of the foot, across the metatarsals, and too loose in the heel. Getting a wide instead of a medium wouldn't have worked, either. This is a problem not with the boots but with my feet.

Great fit and look

I really loved the design of the boot and the soft leather, but they are unfortunately made too narrow. If Born offered a wide option I would have bought them.

These are great looking boots! The dark brown leather is rich and starts looking worn in fairly quickly which can be good for some and not others. Personally, I like my leather goods to show wear over time and not look pristine. These look especially good with jeans. I have only worn about three times so far so I can’t speak to the length of the break in period. With the weather warming here in the spring, I don’t anticipate wearing a whole lot in the near future. These being leather, warm up your feet a fair amount. If you are looking for casual brown leather boots, these are looking like a very good value.

Based on the reviews, i ordered a 1/2 size smaller than i usually wear and it was the right call. Initially the upper (ankle) area was very uncomfortable, but after 3 wearings they started to feel fine. Just hang in there because it's a great shoe, overall very comfortable.

Heel was too wide for my foot and caused slipping. Otherwise they are nice boots.

I've been wearing these shoes every day for a month and am really happy with them. They are my primary shoe for work and social activities and I'm even wearing them outside when I'm playing catch with my son. They are surprisingly comfortable and have shown no signs of wear.

Good quality for the price. I got these to work in at a restaurant/wine bar and they certainly look good with a pair of nice jeans, but they aren't the most comfortable to wear and run around in for 8-10 hour shifts on a hard floor. The leather uppers are very supple, but I think the footbed doesn't have the right support for the kind of work I wear them for. As casual dress shoes to wear to the office or out on the town, I'm sure they'd be fine.

Great shoes like most Born shoes. Seems to be about a 1/2 size small. Needs more arch support. When you wear a 13 the over the counter 1 size fits sizes 8 to 13 doesn't it only provides comfort to the front end of the heel. Please sell true size arch support inserts. The stitching is great I quit buying Florsheim shoes because they went to welting that doesn't work!

BIAS AHEAD: I have had 3 pairs of Blundstones over the last 15 years (2 pairs still in service) and had my better half not vetoed that tradition in favor of something a little dressier for casual business use, I'd choose Blundstone (which does make a dressier boot, sole even lower profile than these Borns). Again, these Harrisons are good shoes/boots but don't really compare to Blundstones in terms of comfort, durability, and style. Leather on the Harrisons is pretty lightweight and has a slightly darkened/distressed effect on the toe (thus 3 instead of 4 stars for style). I lace these quite loosely or there is pinching/binding around the ankle; that may well go away in time but Blunnies offer exceptional comfort right out of the box. I kind of scored on the Borns in the price department as I got them on sale (about $90) so saved $60 - 70 compared to full price Blundstones (which you rarely find on sale -- see the reason above). Hindsight being 20/20, I would have vetoed my wife's veto though to be sure, the only thing that's really wrong with the Born Harrison in my book (setting some minor points and any major biases aside) is that they aren't Blundstones.

These were purchased for my husband. He says the fit and comfort are good. However, the shoe laces broke after only a few wears and finding a replacement has been difficult.

Nice shoe overall but runs narrow. I can wear a medium width (D) in some shoes but these did not work for me. The toe box also is lower than I prefer.

Unfortunately I had to send these back. The chestnut color you see in the photograph does not match the actual shoe which is a kind of grey/purple/brown. Too bad as they were a.) very comfortable, b.) nice leather. Just one drawback with buying online. Zappos customer service were great with the return.

Runs large so would suggest buying at least one half size below your usual size. Leather is very susceptible to scuffing easily. So if you want a worn look quickly, you will get it with this shoe.

Nice shoe - a good match for jeans or khakis. Very comfortable and easy on the feet even when worn for 16+ hours. Also, surprisingly good in inclement weather. My one recommendation (besides buy them if your looking for this type of shoe) is to apply a waterproofing treatment to the leather. Overall, an excellent buy that I'm very happy with.

Very comfortable, great looking shoe, not the best if standing for long periods. Only issue, if i would have known they were made in China i would not have ordered. I try to avoid Chinese products and these are listed as imported. I assumed at this price they were from somewhere else. With that being said, too comfortable to send back!

These shoes seem like decent quality. I couldn't decide, even after having them in hand, if I wanted to square toe or not. Overall, they are pretty standard, nothing too flashy about them outside of the purposeful worn look. They fit great when I sized down 1/2, banking on leather stretching a touch, I wanted them snug at the beginning. I'm unfamiliar with Born, so as far as the longevity of the shoe, I have nothing to base that on.

Great boot but I'm so shocked that nobody has commented on this but the sole material is like very hard composite material...not bad when walking around outside but try walking indoors and the sound that is generated with each step sounds like you are wearing heels and are a woman. I'm just saying.
