I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of comfort with these shoes. Based on reviews I expected a wonderful experience with them and did not find them satisfactory at all. I walked at length on carpeting and/or tile in my home and could not detect any cushioning effect at all. We travel extensively and walk many miles during the course of a day and I had thought this would be a great pair to alternate with my New Balance 928 walkers to get lengthy service from each, but these were not nearly as comfortable as the 928's. The appearance is not as clunky as the 928's but black is the color you need in traveling abroad since black shoes aren't nearly as garish as white ones and these looked like a perfect partner. Fit was great and appearance was great but beyond that it's impossible for me to find any other attributes for these shoes. Zappos service and customer concern is unbeatable, so Zappos is for me but these shoes aren't.

I went looking for a good pair of walking shoes, as I work in a warehouse retail job and spend my entire time there walking and standing on concrete surfaces. After doing some research and hearing all the praise, I decided to give Brooks a try. I gotta say, this is hands-down the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. It provided great overall support, so that even after a 10 hour shift my feet were barely tired. And with a bit of shoe polish, they clean up to make a nice semi-casual dress shoe to boot. I didn't even have a break-in period with this shoe, my feet loved them from the get-go! My complaint lies with this shoe's durability. After wearing this shoe for only a little over a year, it's already worn out. Specifically, the ball of the sole wore out, so that only after an hour of wearing them I'd be limping in pain. I've had less comfortable shoes that have lasted me up to 5 years. (Like my old pair of New Balance that I switched back to from these.) Even old Vans or Converse I used to wear when I was a kid outlast these shoes. And from what I've heard, the 2014 model of the Walker is even more poorly made. I'd recommend passing this shoe up for something else.

These shoes were treated with a chemical that made my feet feel like they were on fire! It was at least 30 minutes after I took them off before my feet felt normal again. I had to return them.

I don't argue with the 5 star rating from 499 other buyers - that many people can't be wrong! But that does not mean these shoes are right for everyone. First, in size 12 they run very tight. I exchanged my first order of size 12 (my normal size) for 12.5 and they fit pretty well. Still I find these shoes confining with a lumpy feel in my soles, particularly along the outside edge. I think all this "loaded with support" approach to shoes may be fine for people with foot problems, but I have "normal" feet and I greatly prefer some freedom of movement in my shoes.

Brooks needs to take the 4E off their listing for they do not actually make wide shoes, so if you have narrow feet you will be happy with them the comfort of shock absorbing is good unfortunately when it comes to fitting they are a big disappointment. I would hope that a company charging so much would have the correct sizing system for making shoes, but they do not. If you have wide feet like I do, or evenly slightly wide any thing into the Es do not get this shoe. These are going to be my back up shoes for short time periods and I am going back to New Balance.

This is a great looking and comfortable shoe for walking or working. Great stability in the platform and pretty good arch support. The problem is they are a TERRIBLE value. After only a few months of moderate wear (rotation with 3 other pair of shoes on basically equal time) these shoes are completely falling apart. The lacing eyelets are tearing, the toe rubber is separating from the shoe, and the sole looks about twice as warn compared to my New Balance shoes that get similar wear. Very poor construction for this price point. I'd expect this level of construction out of a cheaper pair of shoes, not one that costs this much a pair.

I have been wearing this shoe since August 2012. It runs a half size small, so I ordered a half size large than my normal shoe size. I wear a custom orthotic. I have recently noticed that my little toe feels cramped in the shoe. Looking at my toe now, it appears crooked also. I think this is a good shoe for support and motion control, but the toe box is too tight. It would be good to have the shoe narrow in my heel (I have narrow feet) but with a wider toe box.

I bought these based off of the positive reviews, but was sorely disappointed. After 2 weeks of wearing them, they still hurt my feet after I work for 10 hours in them. The arch support is non existent, and the soles leave a lot to be desired. They are also pretty ugly.

I normally wear a size 12, so I ordered these in 12 also. I returned them because they felt too small. Also, they felt more like a brick and didn't seem to have much cushioning.

I seen these listed on another site saying there in top 10 most comfortable shoes. Then I saw on here all kinds of great reviews. So I bought them and was in for a real surprise. Everyone seems to forget to mention how much these shoes arch in the middle. And the insole it comes with has bumps in the middle to counter it. So I even tried different insoles and still horribly painful in the middle. I got the wide pair. They were nice in the front and back but when it comes to the middle just arches in too much for me. Digging right against the middle of my foot. Very painful.

Nice fitting and comfortable shoe, but the part of the sole that wraps around the front separated from the shoe after 3 months. For the price I expected better quality.

The fit was fine but the leather on the toe cracked after just a few wearings.

Poor manufacturing quality. Left and right shoe do not match in size. Tops not attached to sole properly; not aligned.

I bought two pairs of these shoes at the same time. They both squeak horribly. The shoes are so loud I cannot wear them inside a home or building. My search for an all black, comfortable, and quiet shoe continues, but it won't include Brooks or Zappos.

It’s too warm. Not enough aeration. Size pretty good, maybe a little too narrow for EE.

Very comfortable shoes. Problem is that they are now useless since they are coming apart in the seams, only after 4 months of use.

Great fit and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the sole at the front began to come apart within 6 weeks of wearing them. About 3 months later, the other sole of the other shoe began to fall apart too. I gave it an overall 1 star because the shoes began to fall apart too quickly.

best fit ever but the sole is hard as concrete.painful to walk in. brooks has the best running shoes but this shoe misses the mark by 10 miles. very disappointed.
