I'm disappointed in this shoe. They're heavy, but most particularly I find they aren't flexible through the sole. Result: they're clunky when you walk.

Stable shoe but I felt it pinch my heels a little. Perhaps they would loosen up after a bit but I don't want to wear them out and not be able to return them if worn. Compared to the NB 927 which I also own I feel the 927 is roomier up top and doesn't pinch anywhere but has very little arch support without an insole. The Brooks appears to have more arch support. Definitely order this shoe 1/2 size larger. I usually order a 12 but ordered a 12 1/2 for these and they fit well.

Much tighter fit than the addiction 9 athletic shoe. The leather doesn't breath, and they were very hot to wear.

When I first got the shoes, I found they were a little tight, so I exchanged for a larger size. I tried to break in the new pair, but I found the shoes very hard, and starting to unravel at the seems after only 2 months of usage. I've finally acclimated to the hardness of shoes, but it's a bit embarrassing to wear them with the seams undone, as they are. And unfortunately, I can't afford another pair of relatively expensive shoes, so I'll have to make do with these until I can afford a less pauper-like pair. This shoe isn't for everyone. If you're looking for something soft, this isn't it.

My first pair of these shoes suffered a "cosmetic" problem. The leather on the outside peeled. Zappos to the rescue and they replaced them no problem. Obviously had been an issue before because the replacement shoes had a different "texture". For the rest of the shoe they are comfortable but nothing impressive, not what I expected for the price.

So my only experience with the brooks company before this shoe was the Brooks Beast and it was amazing. This shoe on the other hand was not amazing. I know its not a running shoe and have not used it as such, but I only wore it for about 6 months and all of the stitching on the outside of the shoe fell apart so then my feet started to bust out of the shoe. I imagine this would not happen if your dainty with your footwear. But if your hard on shoes beware this may not be the shoe for you.

Was not impressed. Soles seemed to be kind of hard like plastic, noisy on hard floors.

This shoe's only asset is that it is relatively light. Unfortunately, it is somewhat rigid and lacks arch support altogether. I was misled by many other reviews to the contrary. The experience of walking in the shoe is liking walking in a primitive shoe made of found construction materials.

I've been wearing these Brooks Addiction Walkers for about 10 years and always loved them. They fit my feet well (size 15N) and were always comfortable . The last pair I received was a real disappointment. After wearing for a few weeks my feet were killing me and I came to the conclusion that the pair I received was mis-sized. They were too short in length. What was supposed to be 15N couldn't have been more than size 14 or 14.5. I dug an old pair of Addiction Walkers out of my closet and resumed wearing them. My feet felt better quickly.

Bad smell... chemicals, bonded leather. Had to return. Odor too strong and does not dissipate. Always wore the Beast before, but those are quite ugly.

Pretty disappointed with my purchase. I bought the shoe in the picture on the left, I.E. "Dark Brown, rough texture. I received the shoe on the right, I.E. Reddish Blonde, fine texture--(UGLY). When I put my foot in the shoe there is barely enough shoe string to get them tied (Have To Buy Longer Shoe Strings).
I don't feel as though they are the same shoe at all!
I'm always skeptical about buying online and this is the reason. The hassle of the return. I wasn't going to post a review about my experience but Zappos emailed me begging me to do it. So there you go...

I did not like the style or look of these shoes. From the name, I had high hopes, but was very disappointed.

I have purchased size 11-B (Narrow) for a decade. I remove their arch cushion and insert a Spenco insole and a customized arch support. A very, very comfortable shoe.
The sole of the shoe where it wraps up around to the front toebox begins to unpeel in 2 to 5 months, most strongly on the right and less so on the left (usually). I keep buying them in the hope they'll repair the problem.
I suspect the problem is confined to the "B" (Narrow) width and have decided to let Brooks know directly.
By the way, they are extremely slippery on wet, smooth surfaces, so please be aware of this.

Toe box is not as large as NB. The tongue rubs inside the shoe making squawking noise when walking. Gonna try things to stop this noise otherwise too distracting to wear.

I bought these to wear at my job as a server in a restaurant. I bought the all-black version which are supposed to be non-slip. These shoes are very slippery on wet tile, which has never been a problem with my previous shoes. Walmart $30 shoes and New Balance $80 shoes were both fine on the same wet tiles, but these force me to walk like a penguin for fear of falling with my hands full of dishes. I also wore these downtown while casually walking on a wet brick sidewalk and had to move into the street because I was slipping so much. The soles have actually worn quickly as well, and are becoming even more slick. It's a shame, because I find these to be extremely comfortable and they helped with my knee pain.

The shoes were comfortable, but make an annoying, squeaking noise with every step I take. I hope was an exception because I really did want a pair of the brown shoes. I have had multiple pairs of the black and have never had a problem.

Very comfortable shoe out of the box. Used as a work shoe which involves standing for 9+ hours a day. Sole comfort quickly went away and now cause extreme pain in my left foot when walking. Feet feel fine when I switched back to boots.

Three years ago I bought 2 pairs of the Brooks Addiction Walker shoes, a black pair and a white pair. Right out of the box they fit great right and were very comfortable. Both pairs are 10.5 Wide.
I decided to buy a new pair to replace an old pair with many hundreds of miles on them. The same shoes in the same size are noticeably smaller and don't fit well. The sole and foot bed is narrower and they new pair is at least 1/2 inch shorter. People with wide feet will no longer be able to wear these otherwise fine shoes.

I am so disappointed! This was my first experience with Brooks, and I was encouraged by all the positive reviews on this style. I did not find these to be cushiony or comfortable at all, even with my custom orthotics. I do not consider this to be a true rocker sole, as it felt very flat and stiff from heel strike through to toe off. The heel area was too wide for me, even using the heel lock. I'm going back to my Hoka One Ones, which offer a higher toe box, more cushioning, and a better fit.

I really wanted to like these shoes based on all the great reviews. I have a walking disability and had high hopes. But these shoes are quite heavy and clunky compared to the running shoes I have been wearing for walking. The extra heft with these makes them too tough for me to manage. Thanks to Zappos for the fantastic return policy!
