I've bought the boots to wear them everyday. They are super comfortable, but there is one problem about them for me: it gets really hot inside while wearing them, although i wear them only when it is cold outside. In 1 hour it gets from normal to very hot inside, like in the sauna. I'm not sure they are designed exactly for winter, but during the fall season i couldn't wear them without feeling uncomfortably hot. Waiting for winter to wear them.

I was doubtful on the sizing when the boot was new and stiff. Definitely needs breaking in! Once broken in, they fit like a glove!

These are great boots, no doubt. Gusseted tongue, soft leather, metal (not plastic) hardware, great grippy sole. (The so-called “green” is extremely subtle, like Taupey-sage.). But Wide was not any wider than my Patagonia P26’s Medium widths or others I tried on. I have a narrow foot but I’m looking for more room in the Toe Box, so it doesn’t squish my fourth and picky toes. I took the insoles out and compared. Exactly the same. So back they go. The Keen Targhee II insole (in Medium width) is shown next to it (on the right). They have a more squared off toe box to give the under-appreciated fourth and fifth piggies a little space to wiggle. This prevents calluses where they get compressed.

My first pair of these lasted ~5 years of frequent hiking and heavy field work use, so I wanted to get them again. Ordered a 9.5 like my first pair and they were super narrow, especially in the toe. Holding my old pair up against the new ones, the new ones were easily half an inch narrower than the original pair, despite both being the same size and regular width. I returned them and order a 9.5 wide, even though I've never needed wide sizes before, and they fit great (which might mean the wide sizes are too narrow for people who really need wide sizing). A little stiff out of the box, but pretty easy to break in.

I really liked these boots, and they were comfortable out of the box. I had to return them because I didn't like how they felt on my ankles--but I'm pretty sure that's my anatomy as opposed to the boots. I opted for a shoe-style instead of boot so my bony ankles could stick out.

Arrived promptly but too narrow in toe area. I wear 8.5 in shoes and boots but perhaps wearing sandals almost year round (I live in CA) has allowed my feet to spread. Will talk to CS to see if any other hiking boot is wider in toe area or just order size (or 2) up.

Bought these for an upcoming hiking trip, have been wearing them to work to break them in a little. So far, so good, but will have to see how they fare in snow on extended trips.

I've been wearing these Timberline boots for the last two years - going through about 5 pair in that timeframe. I wear them almost everyday - yardwork, my woodworking shop.... I like these since they offer some protection and do not require any break-in period. Comfortable from the start. However, recently something has changed - perhaps where they manufacture the shoe (?). The leather is stiffer and the shoe harder to lace up to get a snug fit. Also the finger loop in the back has dramatically shrunk, I can't get my finger into it!

I bought these boots 2 years ago, for walking my dog in wet weather. They are extremely comfortable, and keep my feet dry in rain and snow, even when I step into deep puddles. Only gave them 4 stars, as the heels wore out in 2 years. Otherwise, they are great boots, and am buying my 2nd pair. I do wish they came in black or more fashionable colors.

I ordered a 1/2 size larger for more room in the toes and for thick socks, but the toe box was narrow. My feet are a little wide, but usually a normal width is fine. However, the sturdy structure of these didn't have enough give across the ball of the foot, so I had to exchange them.

It's a good product. They were too small and I had to send them back, but the size up fit great!

The shoes itself are not so comfortable. They are kind of stiff. I bought another pair of Columbia boots and they are so comfy. So whenever I go hiking, wear Columbia. I probably would not buy timberland brand again. BUT I do want to say that Customer Service at Zappos is amazing. I would be buying Columbia next time from them! Thank you guys!

My grandma got these for me for my birthday and they're my favorite gift I've gotten. I do horticulture research and I've worn these everyday for 3 years for field work! I also would wear them hiking and camping. I've worn them out after 3 years (the leather is coming apart at the toe and there are thin spots in the foot bed where I put most of my weight), but I'm hard on boots. I'm definitely going to buy another pair though!

I purchased these boots over 2.5 years ago. They were comfortable straight out of the box. I love these boots and have logged many miles in them. Unfortunately, after a year and half of wearing them, they were no longer waterproof, the front of the shoe started becoming unglued and now the side of the shoe is torn. I spoke with a representative at a Timberland store and they recommended that I purchase a pair of Pro shoes.

I like these boots but they are made of leather and are too heavy for me for light hiking. These would be perfect in snow or for someone who likes sturdy boots.

I use these boots daily for work and have to hike difficult terrain in all weather. I love Timberland's leather boots, and thought I would try this Gore-Tex model based on reviews I read. They are comfortable, though stiff in some areas I need a bit more flexibility, and tight around my toe (a bunion makes fitting in any shoe difficult). My feet sweat more than I am used to inside these boots, though I am grateful for the all weather protection.

Fit was great, but just not wide enough through the ball of my foot. Arch was in the right place. Would work for anyone with slightly narrow feet.

Look forward to wearing this boot on long hikes as well as running errands when it's slippery outside. The boot provides great arch and ankle support while being very comfortable.

These are great hiking shoes. I got them for walking around the Scottish highlands, but they were also comfortable and supportive for the cobbled streets of Edinburgh. Very comfortable for longer hikes, and dried fairly quickly after trampling around in the mud/rain/hail. My new go-to hiking shoe for sure.

I'm a fussy shoe shopper. especially in picking out shoes for hiking or trekking. Have thrashed all kinds of shoes on trails... I wore these twice for day hikes locally to break them in, then directly took them for about a week out on the Indian Himalayas, through glacier passes, rocky terrain, water crossings, and anything else in between. Then washed them (they dried quickly overnight) and went road tripping for a couple of days in them. Comfortable and no complaints!
Must say though that a friend bought hers at the same store same time as me and hers were soaked through walking in mild puddles not even a centimeter deep. Was totally useless in the waterproofing department for her. She tried again just damping the outside and the inners were soaked through.
