Boots fit and looked great, but the color is not gray at all and I am looking for a GRAY boot. It is taupe with white antiquing. Definitely a taupe, they need to change the name of the color!

These boots are very comfortable and I really love the style! They are a little "slouchy" at the ankle which I wasn't sure I'd like, but I do like the look. My one "complaint" is I got the grey color, and it didn't quite look grey but more of a brownish-grey. I got the Frye weatherproofing spray to treat them, knowing it'd darken the color. It did...to a dark brown, and the white rag I used to wipe the excess spray from the boots was stained brown. So, if you're looking specifically for GREY boots, I would not get these. But for any other reason, they are great. I'm only down-rating them because of this color issue. That truly disappointed me. Oh, and I usually wear a size 6, and that is what I ordered. Fits perfectly.

I had high hopes for this boot. They are absolutely gorgeous and you can tell they are extremely well made. However, they did not fit me well and I had to return them. I'm 5'6 and have a wider calf and these were very snug when I first tried them on. Given they are leather, I'm sure they would stretch after several wears but I didn't want to wait that long to wear them with jeans. They were also too big in the foot. I'm typically a 7.5 but my feet swam in them. I'd recommend ordering a half size smaller.

I want to love these...but sadly I don't. The color, style and overall craftsmanship/quality are perfect. But they are not comfortable! If I am spending this much on these, I think they should be moderately comfy when you first try them on. I've tried them at end of work day and during a lazy day around house, but eh. Rub side of foot weird, heel slips, no support and zero cushion. Such a shame because they look killer!

Another Frye letdown. Beautiful outside, uncomfortable inside (pinched in all the sensitive places) and way too narrow at the very top. Impossible to tuck a pair of jeans down inside if you're not anorexic. Come on, Frye! Normal women want to look stylish, too. Make a darned riding boot that we can wear. Enough already.

Not my favorite. I would say these look a little Santa Clause-ish. They are very shiny and black. They are also EXTREMELY hard to put on and take off... I almost had to sleep in them one night.

If you have a high instep just forget. Without a zipper there was just no way my foot was going to slide in there. The boot design is cute, however the color was much lighter than pictured. I can't grade it on comfort since I couldn't get my foot in.

The top of these boots is quite wide and not very flattering. I thought they made my lower legs look big, and they're not. The sole could also use some tread. I was slipping all over my house when I tried them on. I thought these were promising, but sadly, they're going back.

These boots are really beautiful however I could not get them on. I tried all my tricks to do so! I wish I could have because I am sure that I would have fallen in love with them. Good Luck!

I was thrilled to find a pair of boots tall enough for someone with long legs. These look terrific, the color is rich, the leather supple yet substantial, and the feel very comfortable. Sadly, they will not stand up to winter wear. The thin leather soles will not keep out the cold and the wet, and the rubber portion of the heel is only an eighth of an inch, so it will have to be replaced frequently. Very disappointed to be returning these.

I was really excited to get these boots.. I loved the leather...but unfortunately they were too tight in the foot area (especially with socks), and too loose in the calf areas.. and made them bunch up in a way I didn't care for. Plus they were very slippery on tile.. For the price, I don't think they are worth it. and not to mention for that price, it wont kill them to add some arch support? Zappos keep an eye out for my return! :O(

After great internal debate, I purchased these boots last Christmas (2011). I am so enamored with them that I couldn't retire them until mid summer, way past the point when boots are considered appropriate. They're impossibly comfortable and fit like a dream. I actually did wear them to Universal Studios, a test many shoe reviewers joke about. They were wonderful, and I didn't have any discomfort. I also struggle to fit my skinnies in them, but I've found that rolling my skinny jeans up above my ankle helps prevent the uncomfortable bulk. I highly recommend them!

These boots are really cute but I'm returning them. The quality of the leather and the comfort is amazing, but they just don't fit. They are way too wide and a little tall. I'm 5'4 and 115. The boots come up into my knee and they are so wide that they sag and slouch in the ankle and calf. It's unfortunate because they are so cute and a great quality. I would highly recommend these if you have wider calves and are tall!

I've loved these boots for a while and finally took the plunge and ordered them. They are beautiful boots, well distressed, quality leather and a beautiful color and style, but the boot shaft was just way too big for me. I had read a lot of reviews where people stated the shaft was too tight or just right with skinny jeans tucked in, so I was hoping for the best. I also ordered 1/2 a size down based on other reviews and that worked well. The width at the bottom of the shoe feels true to size, it was the shaft that ruined it for me. Unfortunately there is about a 3 inch space at the top and they just look too loose on me. Really beautiful boot, just not right for me. I'm trying the Melissa button instead. Fingers crossed!

As mentioned in other reviews, they run big by a half or whole size and they are tough to get off. Also, I am 5'3 and they are about an inch too tall for me (they hit my kneecap). They are so cute, but sadly, I have to return them.

I ordered these in the dark brown calf color and they were not quite as dark as I expected. Online they look almost black (which was not available in my size) but in person they are a little lighter. These didn't work at all for me. They have no arch support, they did not come up high enough on my leg and they kind of slouched which I really hated. They made my feet look big and my legs look short. I'm 5'5" and they came up a few inches below my knew. Not for me.

Run a half size to a whole size LARGER. Had to return them just for that. Otherwise: loved the boots, loved the leather, loved the design.

I love the styling of this boot in the picture, but when I opened the box, I was surprised by how orange the leather seemed. It was too bright for my taste, I would have preferred if the color was more subtle or "weathered". The fit was also not perfect -- although my toes fit perfectly and the width was great, there was a lot of room in the heel and ankle, so that when I walked, my heel moved around in the boot with each step, and the leather wrinkled oddly around my ankle. Other than that, it wasn't too hard to put on and take off these boots, and the height of the boot hit slightly below the knee (I'm 5'10"). In the end, I returned this pair and bought the Frye Jane Tall Cuff boot instead.

Great leather, but my super skinny legs won't work in the shaft.

Ugh. I'm still searching for the perfect boot. I love this style, but it took me about 15 minutes to get my feet into them, and I couldn't repeat the process once I took them off. I ordered a size 10, and the foot part had plenty of room, I just couldn't get my foot down there! They also felt a little narrow, and I don't usually wear a wide shoe.

If you have a high instep, these are not the boots for you! After darn near breaking my foot trying to wiggle these on, I finally got one boot on only to discover that my heel slips when I try to walk in them. Very disappointing because they are a gorgeous style boot and very well made. The distressed gray color is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, they promptly went back. I did agree with a lot of the previous reviews in that they do run a half size small.

My first pair of Frye's! I ordered the dark brown calfskin. They are a lovely deep dark leather, nice and tall (I am 5'6 and they come right up to my knee. I really like these boots however I have a few gripes. As someone else posted - the upper flap needs to be reinforced or else it will fan out on the sides, making it look wing-like. When I brought my 2 - day old shoes into the shoe repairman to have this done, he was trying to talk me into having the soles also replaced. I declined, and told him they were brand new and that I wasn't going to replace the soles of a brand new boot. He looked at the thinly soled bottom with skepticism and informed me that he would see me in a few months for repairs to them anyway. And, sadly he is right. They aren't holding up very well and I do a lot of walking. My final gripe about these boots are that my skinny jeans do not fit so well when tucked inside. The boots are fairly fitted to my leg, with plenty of room for jeans, however my jeans just bunch up giving me serious baggy knee - a problem I don't have with other boots. For me, these are better with leggings and dresses - and to that point, I really do love the way they look.

Loved the color (I ordered the dark brown) and thought the boots looked really well made, but it was just too much boot for my skinny legs. The height and front flap didn\'t work for me.
