Wanted to love these for hiking. Tried only a few times, on different but easy terrain with different socks. Every time my feet hurt within 5 minutes, then kept hurting later in the day even though I had taken them off right away. My feet are pretty average so not sure why they hurt.

Had the shoes in the picture- bought in 2014 and loved them- wore them hiking all over the southwest, took them to Africa etc. they were great! Original model- 5 stars
When they were finally worn out, I waited until spring to replace them. Huge mistake! Keen appears to have changed all their models and even the ones that are "old Style" (not Gen II) are shorter now and the profile of the sole is different and most importantly they are narrower in the ball of the foot! WHY take a perfectly comfortable shoe and ruin it ? I managed to get my hands on the last size 11 of last year's model- Voyageur mid at a store on clearance thank goodness. it is not my feet that changed, it is the shoes! It appears KEEN has abandoned their base! Plus the new dinosaur poop lighter beige color is pretty ugly. Shoe is no longer as pictured or as experienced in the past .

So after Zappos contacted me for the color discrepancy, they sent out a new pair and I sent back the other 8.5s. I had originally ordered this shoe in a size 8 and an 8.5. The 8s were the color shown - a darker brown - and the 8.5s were a much lighter tan. I almost decided to keep them, I could've lived with it, but Zappos makes exchanges so easy, I figured I'd take the shot and send them back. Well, the size 8.5 replacement pair are fitting so much smaller that my toe slides right to the end when standing in my living room. This did NOT happen in the 8.5s I sent back for an exchange. I have no idea what Keen is doing. I have always loved the look and comfort of their shoes. Size discrepancy, color discrepancy between sizes with the same color/style. Weird. With a heavy heart, these will also be going back. I so wanted to love them. The green and brown are so great.

I have narrow feet and extremely high arches. I read some other reviewers with narrow feet say these fit fine with laces tied tight. But my high arches did me in again. Yes, the arch support was not high enough for me, which wasn't a surprise and I imagine would have been fine with inserts. But no matter how I adjusted the laces, the sides of the tongue cut into the top of my feet causing pain with each step. Great looking hiking shoe, but these are being returned. Oh well, back to my search for the illusive comfortable hiking shoe.

Oh, the sadness...this shoe was so comfortable, so perfect! I bought it a half size larger so I could wear it with hiking socks and an orthopedic foot pad and I took it to South Africa with me. All was going well until a five hour hike in the Drakensburg Mountains (look it up, hikers, and then go there!) and, as other customers have reported, the fabric grommets holding the laces snapped. As Murphy's Law would have it, that was the leg with the tendonitis issue; I was already deep into the hike and I barely made it back to the car and had to spend the rest of the vacation nursing my throbbing leg. Keen! You owe me two days in South Africa! But cheers to Zappos who have refunded my money! I'm trying a new brand of hikers: Ahnu Sugarpine Mesh. I'll let you know how those work in the Maine woods.

I so wanted these Voyageur's to fit. From the reviews they sounded perfect for my problem feet. I have other Keen sandals which I love and work without my orthotics. But alas, as with several other Keen shoes they run to small. When you wear a size 11 there is nowhere else to go (men's sizes tend to be to wide). Trust me I tried numerous Keen shoes and sizes thanks to Zappos wonderful and easy return policy. Keen needs to get their sizing straightened out. An 8 should be an 8, a 10 a 10, a 6 a 6. When they themselves comment that a shoe runs small that should indicate a problem within the company quality control. Thank you Zappos. Shame on you Keen.

I have been wearing Keen's shoes for years. The Voyageur has in the past been an excellent shoe. When I went to re-order the Voyageur I found the new shoes cheaper in materials and quality. It is not the same shoe at all. I have ordered three separate pairs of replacement Voyageurs this season and there has been a big change in the fit model in each pair. In fact, I measured a pair of the new shoes and they are 1/4 inch shorter. No wonder they feel too short in my actual size. The rubber toe looks smaller and thinner. Definitely not the same shoes and they don't look the same as the previous Voyageurs I still wear. I see that Keen has switched manufacturers. Could the new manufacturer be the reason for such poor quality and sizing? The pair of Voyageurs in Brindle/Alaskan blue that I received Oct. 2015 arrived with the super-thin insole all twisted inside the shoe and was wrinkled and folded into large ripples. Very careless quality control. I hope someone at Keen is paying attention. I cannot recommend this brand anymore and will try to find another hiking shoe.

I still wear my original Keens which give me great support and comfort after years and years of walking and working. Also own 3 pairs of Keen sandals. These size 10 hiking shoes cut under my ankles, so I probably should have ordered a size smaller than what I usually wear.

Got these for my mom who was initially very happy with fit and function but after only about 6 months of light use, the uppers separated from the soles along nearly the full length of both shoes. I have had good luck with keens in the past but very disappointed in the voyageur. Too expensive to fall apart like this. Expected more from keen.

I love this shoe but it just delaminated and I will be sending this pair back. This is a major bummer as these shoes are wonderful and my last pair last until I wore them out.

Disappointing...I've used these shoes everyday for 3 months - hard and heavy biology field work. There are 3 things that bug me (the last one kills me, hopefully not literally) about this shoe: 1. the laces untie (even when double knotted), 2. a chunk of the right sole has come off, and 3. the soles have no grip, they're slippery to the point of needing to tip-toe around rocks. This last point is a fail. When I'm hiking the last thing I want/need to think about is whether my footwear is going to be the cause of my plunging off a cliff. I've owned Keens in the past, they were comfy and lasted forever, I buy my toddler Keens for the sole purpose (pun intended) of a grippy soled shoe. This shoe has not lived up to the standards I expected.

I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a pair of shoes as I have with these. I've had 2 previous pairs of Keens and never had a problem with them, but sadly, these are absolute torture for me to wear. I'd tried them on previously at REI and found them comfortable, so I didn't think twice about ordering them a few weeks later from Zappos. Unfortunately, getting them out on a hard surface made all the difference. I bought the size I knew fit best, but once outside, these shoes would not stay on my heels, no matter how I laced them. The insole appears to be too high in the shoe. Worse, after just a few minutes, they send shooting pains across the arches and lower ball of my feet. I have never had any foot problems, and both times I've tried to wear these, this has happened. Fortunately, I hadn't worn them for hiking either time, or I would have been hosed. I have resorted to taking off the shoes and walking barefoot, and the discomfort was immediately alleviated. No other shoe has ever done this. Sadly, this was a very expensive mistake, since wearing them outside just once prevents me from returning them. The only remedy left for me is to spend the money on completely new insoles and hope this alleviates the problem, but I am aggravated that an already pricey shoe is going to cost me even more money to try to make wearable. The lesson learned for me is that I will no longer roll the dice and buy this brand again. So long, Keen...going back to Merrells.

I have worn Keen shoes for the past 6 or 7 years. I've never had any problems with them. I got a pair (Keen Voyager-which is what I always wear) about a month ago and I'm ready to throw them in the trash! Talk about a cheap, cheesy pair of shoes. My feet hurt so bad I actually bought a pair of Dr. Scholl's shoes to wear instead of the the Keens. I seriously doubt I'll be spending my money on Keen's anymore!
