Hunter Huntress - My long lost search for rain boots that fit my wide calf is over! I can even fit my jeans inside. All they need to do now is make the Huntress in all the colors that the regular Hunters come in. I'm normally a 7.5, so I ordered the 38 and they fit perfectly. Zappos customer service is the greatest!

I needed a pair of rain boots. Boots that I previously owned had to be given away because of a strong rubber smell that never went away. No smell with these boots. I love my new "Wellies" and they're very comfortable but order a size down. Originally ordered an 8 but had to return for a 7 which is still generous and can be worn with a heavy sock. Also, "Huntress" is good for smaller people as the shaft isn't as tall as "Hunter" version. Don't be concerned about the circumference being too large. My legs are thin and it's perfect with pants over the boot or tucked in. I am looking forward to the next rain storm.

Love these boots! I have been trying to decide on a good pair of rain/winter boots that are more functional than necessarily stylish. These boots wound up being extremely functional but really stylish looking as well. I have taken my dog for long walks in the mud and rain in them and they are comfortable and my feet stayed warm and dry the entire time. I look forward to trying them out in the snow. I did order them a size smaller than I wear normally (I wear an 8 and ordered a 7) and they fit perfectly with a good pair of socks; they would have been huge had I ordered the 8. These boots are definitely worth their cost.

I ordered a full size smaller (taking the advice of earlier reviewers), and am totally pleased with my wellies. They are comfy, easy to put on and take off, and fit my large calves.

Finally!! I have wanted these boots ever since I tried on a friend from Scotland's Wellies!! They finally were on sale in the states about a year ago, but the regulars were too tight on my calves. The Huntress boots, however, fit perfectly!!! If the only tall boots you own are Frye or stretchy leather, than these are the boots for you! About sizing: I wear an 8 ½ and bought an 8 which still have room for thick socks. Had they made 7 ½ they would have been perfect so definitely go down one size if you wear a whole number size and ½ if you wear a ½ size. I love the boots! They are comfortable, very cute and extremely well made. Zappos shipped overnight for free and they arrived next day (even though I ordered at 8pm Eastern), which was just the cherry on the sundae. I could not be more pleased.

My heart's desire... ...I've wanted a pair of these since I went all Princess Diana-crazy in 1981. After twenty-six years, I finally got my own pair. They are extremely comfortable, with or without socks, but I definitely recommend ordering a size smaller...I'm a pretty true size 9, but the size 9 Huntress was very, very big on me. I exchanged them for the 8, and there is still room to spare for a pair or two of thick socks (which I will need because I plan on using these for all but the bitterest winter weather). I'm glad I ordered the Huntress model - I have big kickboxing calves and these still fit over jeans. They look just as great as they do in photos, and while I'm definitely not a "label" person, I have a little frisson of delight when I see the Huntress tag on the front of the boots. Even the box is a little more special than the standard shoebox. Best of all was the service I received from Zappos. I am so impressed; I will definitely encourage my friends and family to shop here too.

These boots are great...I have big muscular calves and have always had difficulty finding boots. After ordering several boots that were all too small for my calves I found the Huntress. My 16 inch calves fit and my jeans fit inside too. They feel nice and soft to your foot. They’re also great to walk in. I wore them today for the first time and I just want to jump into puddles like a little girl. Highly recommended for dancer calves.

A great Wellie for larger calves! I've always wanted a pair of classic Wellies. I've tried on a few but they didn't pull up over my calves. But these do! At first I thought the price on these was prohibitively expensive, but then I did some research and decided to splurge. These are incredibly comfortable, are hand-assembled, endorsed by the Queen (!) and fit my calves. The sizing is such that you can wear these easily with thick socks during the winter. I'm waiting anxiously for the rain and mud so I can slosh around happily! My dreams are realized, I have my classic green Wellingtons. Woohoo.

Love these boots! I have athletic calves so these fit just perfectly, with room to stuff jeans in if needed. I am an 8 1/2 so I originally ordered down to an 8, but my feet were swimming in them...returned them for a 7. They're a bit snug, but not so much that they hurt my toes so I'm keeping them! I'm giving them a 4 star only because they really need half sizes.

I have big calves, and these fit me. I can't tuck jeans into them comfortably, but then I'm usually in sweat pants when I walk the dogs.

Great boots for wide calves. My calves are 16 inches and these fit with my jeans tucked inside them. I did not give 5 stars because they are not really comfort shoes and I wish they came in more colors like the standard original Hunter Boots.

The boot is a little sloppy in terms of fit, but I'm going to try an insole for a better fit. It's a great boot for kicking around, and best of all, it is wide enough at the top for my calves and to tuck in my pants.

In addition to wider calf, the ankle is also wider than a standard hunter boot which I wasn't expecting. Definitely recommend getting the welly sock with it.

I ordered these in black. When I wear them on rainy days, I feel invincible. I ordered the Huntress because I'm on the short side and have big calves, and they fit great and are in fact flattering. They are also pretty comfortable, and though they are naturally not warm, they accommodate socks very well. However, they acquired that "bloom" discoloration that I've heard other people mention. Nothing I've tried has worked, and it's so disappointing because though they were super cute at first, now they're really only good for mucking around in the mud because they don't look stylin' at all anymore. In fact, I feel kind of shlumpy in them, especially when I see people in new ones - maybe they're the glossy style? - that look so nice and shiny-new. Oh well, at least they're good for the pumpkin patch once a year.

I originally ordered the tall hunters in pink but my muscular calves were too big! Odd because Hunter is a British company and those British girls have healthy calves. Thankfully the Huntress are a bit wider as they fit lower on the calf ordered, though since I'm 5'1 they hit me just at the knee. I bought these boots a year ago and unless they start making them in cuter colors, I will never need to purchase another pair. They survived 2 daily walks to the dog park with reasonable traction for climbing up and down the hills of San Francisco. These boots are fantastic, they keep my feet dry and on rainy days I can throw them on with a pair skinny jeans and a cute top and look fashionable enough to shop or have a meal. They are definitely worth the investment, I just wish they had more lively colors to choose from.

The calf could be a bit larger, and boot has a bit much space between the widest part of the calf and ankle, so it tends to look baggy. That being said, they're extremely comfortable and have kept my feet warm and completely dry, so they work.

I've never been able to wear tall boots because I have athletic calves. I've always loved the way Hunter boots looked, so I was thrilled to find the Huntress! My calves measure 16", and the Huntress claimed to fit up to 16 1/2". I normally wear a size 8 shoe, but after reading the reviews saying it ran big, I ordered both the 7 and the 8. True to the reviews, the Huntress runs big, and the 7 fit perfectly fine. It also fit my calves, which is awesome! I was able to tuck in my straight-legged jeans, and even though the rubber bows out a little around my ankle (probably because my leg is curvy-ish), they look great! Thanks Hunter!

Finally! I have wanted rain boots, but could never find any wide enough for my calves. I am short with wide calves, so they still are a bit more fitted than I would prefer. But overall, they fit and I am thrilled.

I’m a big girl... But I am not that big. I originally purchased a pair of women's Hunter Originals, only to find that they were so tight on my calves that I thought I'd need them to be cut off of me. I then tried men's and found them the same way on my knees. Third time was a charm. The Huntresses allow for wider calves, though they are still just a tad snug. Beyond that, they are incredibly comfortable where it counts most with excellent arch support and just enough of a heel. Plus they look great.

Huntress - I like my boots a lot. They offer quite a bit of support for a rain boot. I got my regular size at first and they were too big, but, I got one size smaller and they fit perfectly. They are also pretty warm even with out the lining.

Great rubber boots for large calves - I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered a size smaller, but they were way too small. I exchanged them for my usual Euro 38 and they were fine. They fit over my calves and I can even tuck in pants, great for gardening and slogging through mud!

Good Quality Rain boots - I first ordered the original "Hunter" and it was too snug on my calf. I wanted to be able to tuck my pants into the boots so I exchanged then for the "Huntress." They fit perfectly and are much more comfortable for me. I do wish the label said "Hunter" as opposed to "Huntress" on the front, but in the end I'd rather be comfortable! These are very traditional looking rain boots. I think there are some cuter ones out there, but I am hoping these will last me forever and will look cute regardless of fads because of their classic styling. They are very comfortable and I am sure I will spend many mornings commuting through slushy city streets feeling very grateful for my Huntress boots! By the way I normally wear an 8 but definitely needed the 7.

Definitely for the larger calf. I have an athletic build, and they were extremely wide in the leg and ankle area. Traded them for the original Hunter's and am very pleased!

I ordered these in November and unfortunately had to return them. Like other reviewers, I felt that the ankle was too wide and looked weird and also bent a lot while walking. Love Hunters, just wish my calves were a little thinner so I could fit into the regular ones! Definitely order a size down I am usually a 7 and ordered a 6. They fit everywhere except for the ankle situation.

I had originally ordered Hunter Originals without reading the reviews since I see them on gals everyday!! I have athletic calves and they were way to tight up top. Then I found the Huntress thinking they would be the perfect alternative, hated them. There is enough space to tuck in jeans etc, but very large in the ankle and the shaft height is not near as flattering as the Original. The Huntress is a full 2 inches shorter and not as flattering on larger calves being as it lands right at the top of the largest part (I'm 5'9). Very disappointing, and amazed the Original is unisex and still so small. Will keep looking and loved the Navy color though!
