I bought this boot in January of 2008. After 13 days, the top leather of the insole separated from the foam base merely from regular foot sweat. I understand earth-friendly adhesives are great, but that was ridiculous. Considering it a manufacturer defect, I attempted to contact Timberland directly to receive a replacement insole. Instead, I got the run around, continually being told to contact so-and-so who told me to contact the next person. Zappos' amazing customer service stepped in, called me, and offered to send me a new pair of the boots and send mine back once they arrived. I appreciated the A+ service I received and won't hesitate to purchase from Zappos, but unfortunately I won't be purchasing another Timberland product. These boots are really comfortable otherwise, and fashionable, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone expecting to wear them like you would actual boots; my Chuck Taylor All Stars have held up better.

Nice looking, uncomfortable, not an all-day boot. First let me say the service by Zappos has been incredible! This boot was disappointing. While good looking, it lacked padding, especially in the tongue. Didn't seem very durable. Certainly not a work boot for someone on their feet all day. Felt like 1930's technology in a modern boot. A classic look, but not the Timberland comfort I have had in the past. I sent these back. Felt a WHOLE size larger than marked!

Awesome boot! I am very pleased with this product. It is super comfy (first wear six mile hike) and problem free! I took the advice of others and ordered one size smaller and they were perfect. However, after just a few weeks the stitching on one of the tongues is coming apart. A bit disappointing. I am going to have it repaired because I do think/hope they will last and because they are just so dang comfortable! Outside of the tongue glitch I give these boots an A+.

These are amazing boots! Bought these for my boyfriend and he loves them! Perfect for dressing up or down. He wears a size 12 and I ordered him a 10.5W and they fit him like a glove! As always, Zappos had them delivered in speedy time!

Looks and feels great. Nice soft leather. Great in wet conditions. Size runs a size bigger. This is my outdoor boot.

I purchased this boot for my bf for Christmas. He wears an 8.5, but have sent this boot back twice in hopes to get the correct fit. The sizing is way off and I'd say it's at least 1 to 1.5 sizes off. We're patiently waiting the arrival of pair #3 to see if it fits. Keep in mind that Zappos only allows you to do one exchange. Anything after that is a return and your original form of payment will have to be credited. Such a pain.

I bought these boots for the winter and for hiking. They have been great. Waterproof, comfortable and look good. Only problem is the size issue. I normally wear a size 10 but I found 8-1/2 fit me best.

Bought these for my 21 year old son. They were a bit too big for him, but fit my husband who also loved them. So, he kept them and I ordered a second pair for my son. They both love them!

Love these boots. I spend 12 hours a day on a construction site and they haven't let me down - comfortable & durable.

I bought these as a gift for my son. He absolutely loves them for both his job and everyday wear. He will not wear any other brand but Timberland. Timberland and Zappos are both superior and I would highly recommend both to everyone!

Timberland Earthkeepers 6" Leather Boot - This pair of boots feels and looks great, I just got mine so I'm not sure how durable it's gonna be but these are more for light duty. It has a soft sole (although it doesn't seem like it in the photo) gave it a pinch and wondered if it would hold up but they do flex as you move with it pretty good. As they've said no break-in required, really comfortable out of the box and definitely looks good with jeans or khakis (got mine in black). I normally wear a size 9 1/2 followed the review and ordered a half size smaller and it was still big so I returned it and ordered an 8 1/2...still not right, finally ended up ordering a size 8 and at last got it to fit perfectly. So all in all if you like ordering stuff online like I do, I strongly suggest to order at least a full size smaller, so if you do have to exchange it still at least you only have to do it once and not twice like I did or you could test fit it first at your local shoe store. Overall experience with Zappos has been great, they have real good customer service, and I couldn't be happier with their shipping process. I'd definitely come back here again!!!

Great Boots! Very comfortable right out of the box and truly waterproof. I have walked through snow and deep standing water and my feet remained warm and dry. I would highly recommend these boots.

Very comfortable - One of those rare pairs of boots that require no break in. Very comfortable the first time on the feet. Very similar to Timberland Pro series in terms of fit at a significantly reduced weight.

Nice Boots - Very comfy right out of the box. Don't look quite as cool in person as the image online, I think because the stitching contrasts more in the photo but is the same color brown as the leather in reality.

Great boots for walking in Boston during the winter - All I can say is thank you Timberland for a great product and for keeping in mind the environment.

Recycling and looking good doing it! These are the best looking boots I've owned in years! The fact that the box they came in was made from recycled materials impressed me, the fact that I only found a couple of pairs of boots that used any recycled materials in the shoes (I think they were all Timberlands) was shocking to me, we’ve all got to do our part. Thanks Timberland for setting the standard, and I might add, you set the bar very high with these boots!

Believe the other reviews and order a size smaller than you normally do. I also ordered my normal size and they were huge. I wear and ordered a 14, but ended up with a size 13. Very comfortable and well looking boot. My GF did not like the online pictures of these, but once she saw them in person she really liked them.

As others have written here, this boot runs at least a size too large. My foot measures 11.75, so I usually use a 12 or a 11.5 depending on the last. I also have a narrow (C), flat, low volume foot. In this boot I am happy with an 11 and my toes still have room at the front. I typically use an arch support under the OEM foot bed and on this shoe that method provides me both the volume filler and support I need. Order a size smaller than you normally would. Shoe is well built and comfortable. Too bad they didn't gusset the tongues for greater waterproofing. Good for urban and suburban walking in all conditions, but not for real back country hiking / trekking. Use a real boot for that like a Lowa Baffin (which runs true to size).

These boots are stylish, which is what you get for compromising ruggedness. I have had these and the standard Timberland, and these do not take wear as well, and are not as waterproof. Namely, the sole of the boot wears out quickly if you walk a lot on hard surfaces. You can, of course, always replace the sole though. The last knock on them is that they are squeaky on linoleum type surfaces. They also run a whole size big. Other than that, they are very good looking, and if you replace the sole, the upper leather will last a long time.

Nice looking comfortable boots. Haven't tested them in bad weather much yet but they seem to stand up well. They are very soft, but therefore don't offer the sort of support of a hiking boot or anything like that; but they're not bad in that regard. The supplied soles are all right but I absolutely needed my superfeet insoles instead, especially because they run so much larger than expected. Even ordering a full size small and replacing the insoles, they're a bit roomy.

Purchased this boot at 9.5. I typically wear 10.5 and the boot was still a bit loose, but wearable. The looks are there but a bit wider than expected. Sole is very flexible.
