Ziggy doodad on the side prevents shoe from flexing -- impossible to wear these to a class. It's plastic so it won't break in.

I was SOOO excited when my shoes arrived... I've been doing Zumba for months in sneakers from Payless and I'd stick to the ground on some moves... so I ordered these, thinking it would be better. Boy was I wrong - initially, they felt great when I put them on and wore them around the house before I left for my Zumba class; after ONE song I couldn't wait to take them off; they were uncomfortable, had no give and didn't make zumba any easier... They still stuck to the floor - and the body of the shoe is stiff, like hard plastic!!! My feet felt like they were swelling up - I even got a size 6 and I wear 5 1/2... very weird. Although you can see the arch support, I didn't really feel it; I do have high arches and petite feet, yet they felt small!!! Never had shoes feel this way before...I'm going to look into returning them, however I did wear them once... I'm so bummed...

I love the different look. Great for low-impact or karate, kickboxing, lifting weights, etc. Sole is pretty inflexible and laces are starchy too.

Shoes are very heavy and stiff. Not much shock protection. I ended up not using them for exercising but just kept them for casual wear.

I bought these based on the reviews I read. I typically wear a size 9 shoe and I ordered these in a 9 the first time. I could not even get them on. I returned them for a size 10 figuring that if they were too big I could put insoles in them for extra support. They fit tight enough that there is no way I can get an insole in them and I wish they were a half size bigger. I ended up keeping them because I literally needed them for a class that night and my regular sneakers were not Zumba friendly. I would have gotten a larger size but the next one up was a 13. I recommend buying a size (maybe 1.5) up, especially if you want to use insoles for extra support. Also, consider buying several sizes to try and returning the ones that don't work. That is the beauty of Zappos--the return process is very easy and quick. These are good Zumba shoes but I don't find them to be as awesome as the other reviews did. I will look for something different when these are wearing out.

The shoe fits well. I would like a little more arch support, and some cushion. The sole is great for my Zumba class.

The shoe appears to be nice but I have a bunion and my feet measure right on the line of a med. or wide so depending on the shoe. Now in this case I found the shoe too snug. I did order a 1/2 size larger and still too snug. I could not order larger as it would slip in the heel Sorry.

These shoes are sized way too small. I usually take a 9 1/2, but had to order a size 11 for this shoe. A 10 was too small, but the 11 is a little too big. Alas, no 10 1/2 offered. I use them for Zumba and they are great for that. The front section of the tread is circular, so it's perfect for all the pivoting and side moves. I probably will not buy this particular shoe again because of the sizing issue. I'll try something else.

The quality is wonderful, but the width is not a medium; the shape of the shoe is best for people with narrow feet.

I love Ryka's and have worn them for aerobic dance class for many years. I've tried other brands but always come back to Ryka. This cute shoe, however, is very small and I was disappointed to have to send it back. I ordered another style of Ryka and love them.

Cute, but not enough support for my feet in Zumba classes. I also need more grip - these slide all over the place and make some moves difficult to do as quickly as you have to in Zumba. Almost non-existent arch support.

This shoe did not work for me for Zumba, although it came highly recommended. It was not flexible and did not allow me to slide my feet. It did offer good support in the heel and forefoot.

I liked these shoes, except for the plastic swirl detail on the side, which squeezed my foot in an uncomfortable way. The shoe did not feel to narrow, just the darn swirl.

I received these shoes a day after I ordered them, which was awesome! Once I put the shoes on though I was a bit disappointed.. They felt very stiff, and upon wearing them to work I found that they made my lower back hurt for a while. Hopefully it was a gaining pain! Overall, the shoes are okay so far but not impressive. My Chuck Taylors are more comfortable. Also, I\'m a solid size 7 in flat shoes and I ordered these half a size up and it was perfect.

Runs super small on me. I'm returning my 9.5 and getting 10s to try to get a better fit -- and I wear an 8.5 dress shoe! These look wide but seem to fit narrow, especially on the outside just below the toe box. Nicely cushioned and comfortable, otherwise.

I have to say that I don't care for them. They sit funny on the tops of my feet and after just one class my feet feel bruised. I purchased them so that I could move easier without my knees hurting. They did help (slightly) but not enough to be satisfied.

I have big feet, bad heels, and extremely high arches. Had a pair of Rykas years ago that I loved so when I saw these I had to give them a shot. I had to buy an insert to give myself the extra arch and heel support I need. Otherwise, a comfy shoe that fits well and holds up to the hours I spend on my feet everyday.

Purchased this shoe for hip-hop cardio class. Regular running shoes were too bulky and didn't allow for spins and lateral dance movements. This shoe has good cushioning, but I found it stiff and bulky, and not very cute. The shiny detailing makes it look cheap. My heel also constantly slips out the back. Will be returning it.

These were my first dance shoes, but wasn't too impressed. My toes became numb after using them at Zumba the first 2 times. I ordered up a half size-that may be the problem. Haven't used them for awhile now. I prefer shoes with better support. I will put my arches in them the next time I use them.

I bought these for Zumba classes and have mixed feelings. They have very little ankle support and I have found myself rolling my ankle a couple of times. They have been very painful at the beginning of classes; they tend to feel better about 30 minutes in. I've worn them about 5 times so I'm going to give them a go a few more times. They do have an excellent tread on the bottom, I find I can spin and slide much easier than with basic gym shoes. Perhaps with a little more cushion and arch support, they could quite possibly be the perfect shoe!

I bought these shoes for aerobics classes. I needed them for kickboxing, body combat, body pump - all of the above. I was actually rather disappointed in them and only wear them for the classes that don't have a lot of bouncing movement. There isn't a lot of support to the shoe, though I do notice they are great for lateral movements. A lot of the reviewers said they were good for Zumba and I can see that. I don't recommend them for high-energy classes or running.

These shoes are good for dancing, nice non-grip soles, however, they were a bit uncomfortable on the ball of my foot (not enough padding?). The first time I wore them, my foot actually fell asleep and started tingling in the middle of my Zumba class (not good). However, now that they are a bit more broken in, they are not producing that same sensation. I think the bottoms are wonderful, but there could be more padding. Also, you need to order a half size up!

I like the Ryka shoes for aerobic exercise. However, these are a little snug-I also ordered the black in a 1/2 size larger and it is a better fit. Zappos customer service rocks!

I think these shoes are incredibly overrated. Yes, I know they are the Jazzercise shoe, but there are other Rykas that are way better for Jazzercise. Studio D has very little cushion -- I have no idea why they encourage us to wear these. I had mine for a few months and finally -- due to painful foot cramps during workouts -- switched to another kind of Rykas that has more cushion. Now I want to throw these Studio Ds in the trash for making me suffer for so long. And, by the way, I don't think they run big.

Recommended for Zumba class and ordered based on the great reviews at Zappos. The sole is great for pivoting. They look fantastic. I wear a women's 11. The 11 in this shoe was too tight in both length and width even with a thin sock. The 12 was too big (especially the toe box) even with a thick sock. Why can't Ryka make an 11.5? I also have a very high arch. I think the arch support is lacking for a high arch and I couldn't find an arch support insert that fit comfortably in the shoe. They aren't going to work for me. I'm returning them.
