I bought this for Zumba and was disappointed. Do not feel they have enough heel cushion for impact. Also had trouble pivoting in them despite the design on the sole. I ended up buying the Nike Musique IV again. I'm now using them just for shopping and running errands.

So disappointing! I ordered these shoes to replace a pair of Bloch dance sneakers that I use for Zumba. Unfortunately, the soles are too sticky to allow easy turns on the wood floor at my gym. It was like dancing in cross-trainers. Now my knees hurt, which they never do after Zumba if I'm wearing the right shoes. On the bright side, these shoes are really light and comfortable, and they look cute. But that isn't enough to make me risk injury by keeping them. Back they go.

I have a small foot, size 5, and the shoes are perfect for my foot and for Zumba. They allow me to turn and slide comfortably without restriction. Love them!

The shoes give my big toe blisters on the pad. I'm not sure why, I've never had shoes do this before. I bought these to teach Zumba and they do turn better than most sneakers, but I don't love them like I'd hoped. They are also pretty stiff and not that attractive.

I really wanted these to fit for use as Zumba shoes or for walking around town, but they were just too narrow and the heel slipped. Based on other reviews I ordered my size and a half size up to try both. Other Ryka shoes work well for me. I am not sure why this model is narrower in the toe box. (I do have a wide foot, so knew this was possibly going to be too narrow. Sometimes I can get away with normal widths.)

Based on reviews from this website and others, I ordered the Ryka Studio D for Zumba class. Unfortunately, they are going back. I found them to be lacking in arch support and a little small both in length and width. Worst of all, the laces will not stay tied even when double knotted! I am no stranger to Ryka shoes, but these are not as comfortable as some of the other styles that I have owned.

I've had these shoes for several months now, and I have to say I would not purchase them again. In fact, I probably wouldn't even buy this brand again. The shoes remain very stiff, have very little "breath-ability," feel slightly small for their size and have not relaxed with time, and look more bulky than they should. After being super happy with a previous pair of Inov8s I purchased, these have been a disappointment. I think these shoes are worth maybe less.

I love Ryka shoes but I have tried two dance shoes and they are very stiff. Great support but they don't give very much. The reason I returned them is because they are a little too big. In Ryka I always wear an 11, the 11 was just too big. It was surprising.

Nice shoes - decent cushioning and very comfortable. However, if you are looking for Zumba shoes, these aren't it. The tread pattern they have doesn't have enough glide for pivots and the lateral moves that Zumba uses. I traded them out for a pair of Asics Gel Ipera, and have had much better luck with them. The Asics have plenty of glide, even on our carpeted gym floor, and excellent cushioning and support. I would also recommend Bloch Apex for Zumba, as long as you have a smaller foot- Bloch tends to run 1-2 sizes smaller than the same size in a street shoe.

Unfortunately, these are too narrow right out of the box, even ordering a half size up. I worried about this problem with Ryka and they are uncomfortable just trying on. So back they go. They are really nice-looking shoes and seem well-made and might be perfect for a narrower foot.

I am a zumba instructor and was looking for a new dance/aerobic shoe. Here is what I liked: - stylish look of this shoe. - swivels/turns and other dance moves are much easier based on the design of the shoe/sole. - great sturdy medial/lateral support I really wanted them to work out, but they didn't. Here is what didn't work for me: - comfort: my arches were killing me - they often felt really tired and sometimes my toes got numb (even with a larger size shoe than I normally wear and even after several workout days of "breaking-in" the shoes). - grip: not sure why but I would slip/slide a lot in these shoes. - this doesn't happen with my current shoe (Reebok Realflex). In sum, this may be a great shoe for you but really depends on the way your foot is made and if the cast fits your foot. I wasn't able to tell simply by trying them on and walking around a bit. You'll need to actually try doing a little workout in them (on the carpet inside your house of course).

I bought these to use in a Zumba class. These don't slide as much as I would have liked but they do offer support. The length and width are fine, but I find that I must wear socks with them as they rub somewhat on the inside upper of my foot. It feels like a bar runs across the bottom of the shoe where my arch is. The feeling goes away when walking but is sometimes too present when I am dancing.

I bought these for Zumba and they've done ok. I've been using them for about 9 months. I detract points for comfort because the dark grey swoosh on the sides, although it looks cool, is made out of a flexible plastic tha doesn't stretch. There are some movements (especially turns) where my foot will stretch but the plastic doesn't so it cuts into the side of my foot a little bit. They are nice and lightweight and the soles allow just enough sliding to help protect my joints. I like this brand in general (they make great lightweight trail walking shoes) but if I did it over again I wouldn't buy this particular style for Zumba.

I ordered these shoes for Zumba. I ordered them a half size larger, but should have gone a whole size larger. They also run a bit snug. My toes start to tingle in the middle of Zumba class and I have loosened the laces as much as possible. Not as much padding in them as I had expected. I had to put a thin gel pad in it to keep the bottom of my foot from getting sore. My friends have complained about the same thing. Wish I had known some of these things before ordering the shoes!

I thought the quality and look of the shoe was great. I did order the next half size up and found that it would have been a great fit, but my heel did slip. So I had to return them.

I won't buy these shoes again in the low style although I do love the mid ankle style. This one is too low and doesn't give me enough ankle support. The arches are still great though.

I did not care for the styling of this shoe. That being said, I heeded the warning of previous reviewers and purchased these 1/2 size larger (9) than I regularly wear (8.5). The length, width and toe-bed were comfortable; my foot felt well supported. My ankle slipped a bit when walking so I wasn't sure that would be comfortable during zumba classes. I was really hoping I would like these shoes as much as other Ryka products I've purchased in the past (eg running shoes), but, sadly, not the case this time around. I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying these. They just didn't appeal to me.

Not for narrow heels. My heels slid up and down even with the last hole laced and pulled tight. I wanted to like these but after having them on for a few minutes and sliding out of them...they would not last an hour of zumba.

This shoe is stylish and I have gotten lots of compliments on it. It is not, however, very suitable for exercising. It doesn't breathe well and is very heavy. I bought these for Zumba classes and ended up removing them 15 minutes into it because my normal running tennis shoes were so much more comfortable. I give this shoes 5 stars for style but definitely wouldn't use it for any type of exercising.

I bought these shoes for zumba and was very disappointed. The sole doesn't allow smoothness for sliding from side to side. The comfort I expected is not there either. I usually love Ryka shoes but not this one.

I so wanted to love these sneakers, and really thought I would with all the great reviews, but I do Jazzercise every day and I find that for me, they do not offer enough support. My knees are killing me. I feel I need more support in the ankle, and way more cushioning in the shoe itself. Love Zappos, though!

I wear a 8.5 and that was the size I ordered. The shoes seem to run narrow. I had to lace them very loose and even then in the first 15 minutes of Zumba my toes and the ball of my feet would go numb. They are very comfortable and adorable, just not for a hard work out.

Not my 1st Rykas. Ordered this shoe for Zumba workout at home on tile flooring. I liked the shoe and was comfortable right out of the box. It felt a little snug after first workout, but thought they may need break-in. In the middle of 2nd workout, the arches of my feet hurt so bad, I could not finish exercising and took them off. I have since returned them. They looked great and I was sad to see them go, but it felt like my arches were falling after 10 min in them!
