This is a nice light shoe for Zumba if you have a narrow foot. I have a very wide foot and high arches so this one did not fit me. It was too tight for my wide feet. Everything else was good but not wide enough. I ordered a different Ryka (Ryka transition) and that one fit much better.

Less support and stability than my New Balance shoes but these have the soles needed for Zumba!

I purchased these shoes for my twice weekly Jazzercise class. Having been a dancer my entire life, I was looking for an exercise shoe with somewhat of a split sole, and also with a sole that would enable me to "pieroet" while participating in aerobic dancing. Regular running shoes are not convenient for this type of movement. However, not being able to find the shoes in a wide width, I purchased a size larger than normal, and I'm having some difficulty adjusting to them. I find that my toes tend to be a little cramped in my left shoe. I have only worn them for four classes, though, and have started wearing them as a casual shoe to "break them in". I love the look of the shoes and find them to be generally comfortable.

Nice, but I'll buy hightops next time.
I just got these shoes and I bought 1/2 size bigger... Perfect. They are comfy, lightweight, and very stable. Great for step and doing Wii fit. The absolute only complaint I have is that the low rider pull my socks down a little. I'll certainly buy Ryka shoes again. No break-in time necessary.

Nice Zumba shoe -
I purchased the Ryka Studio D specifically as a Zumba shoe. It's functioned well in several classes, and is comfortable. I wear a 10 -10.5 and ordered an 11 and the fit is good. The laces and tongue can be slightly uncomfortable; a sturdier shoelace would be nicer. Also the look is nice and basic but could be a little more jazzy. I have the gray. Several women in class are wearing Nike dance shoes that are more attractive looking. I may look for a more stylish dance shoe for my next purchase, but the fit and feel of the Rykas are very good and I'm happy to have found a good Zumba shoe.

Ryka for Zumba -
I was looking for a shoe that wouldn't stick to the floor for Zumba class and this was actually recommended by the fitness instructor. This shoe meets that need very well. As for sizing, too bad it doesn't come in a wide size. I ordered a half size up which helped but a wide in my regular size would have been better. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for a shoe suited for the quick feet of Zumba.

Journey -
It has been a journey to find a shoe that works well with my exercise routine. One size too small, one too big. I'm using this shoe in lieu of being able to find anything that works or fits better.

Sport shoe -
This sport shoe was stiffer than others in my previous experience. I am a regular workout person and need to wear orthodics inside my footwear. This morning I was able to wear these without any additional support. Yes, would recommend them to my colleagues.

Great jazzercise shoe -
I bought this shoe for Jazzercise. As I had never worn a shoe of this type before, I wasn't sure how I'd like it. I usually wear running shoes when I work out, but this Ryka seems to be working really well. It feels a bit narrow across the arch, but otherwise fits well. My heel slips out a bit if I don't lace them tightly. Those things being said, I don't have any problems in class with this shoe, and I think they look, dare I say it, "jazzy!"

I love my Rykas because they are lighter than air. I bought them for a Pilates class and as I watch other women take off their thick-soled running shoes, I don't even realize I have mine on! Already had several nice comments about them. One lady asked to see the bottoms of my shoe. She thought they were biking shoes. My only negative comment is that they are, perhaps, a bit more narrow than marked, in terms of being able to lace up toward the center. But comfortable? Absolutely!

Good Quality Shoe -
I bought this shoe for Jazzercise which is on an indoor/outdoor type of carpeting. I do have movement with no dragging with this shoe. I also do Step Aerobics at which the same goes - no dragging with the tread. It fits my foot a little different - some snugness, but I can not say that is was bad at all. I have a different shaped foot and all shoes fit very different with my instep and flat arches. I would recommend this shoe as I also bought it in the high-top gray for aerobics.

These shoes allow my feet to move, pivot, and turn, but still give good support – and they are lightweight. They offer less stability for lateral moves and are not a motion control shoe. I need the flexibility. I teach Jazzercise. I wear size 6 in Nikes but 6.5 in Rykas. I wear very lightweight socks with these.

Good Shoe For High Impact Aerobics & Narrow!
I haven't had much luck in the past with Ryka's fitting my difficult foot so almost didn't even try this out. But I have finally found an athletic shoe that I do not have to wear 2 pairs of socks in order to have my very narrow foot not slip, particularly in the heel. For those of you who do not have a narrow foot, I do warn you that these shoes certainly seem narrow to me, a person with a very narrow foot. I ordered a full size larger than I wear in "regular" shoes (as I always have to do with an athletic shoe), and the fit is good. I had seen a few other women wearing this shoe (I got the grey/metallic/vanilla), and I thought that they were kind of ugly; but they really grow on you, and now I think that they're really cool looking! And they make my very long narrow foot appear smaller!
Once again, I want to thank Zappos for their superior service. I ordered yet another pair of these today and ended up having to call Customer Service (my fault online, not theirs), and the young woman I spoke with was very friendly, professional and helpful. If only all companies could offer the good customer service that Zappos does!

Great for dance exercise -
Shoe is a little narrower than I would like, but works great for dance exercise like Jazzercise. I previously used cross trainers, but these make lateral movement a breeze. Would definitely buy them again when this pair dies.

Studio use only -
Nice looking shoe that I bought it for Jazzercise. Good studio shoe, however, DO NOT wear these outside of your exercise area (eg carry them in your gym bag, put them on for your activity, then taken them back off before you hit the street. No traction whatsoever on slick surfaces!!!

Great kickboxing shoe -
My favorite cardio is kickboxing. Mainly Tae Bo. And I'm a Turbo kick instructor. I have had a hard time finding a great kickboxing shoe that is light for roundhouse and side and front kicks as well as having enough support for balancing on one leg. And these Ryka's work! Another Tae Bo instructor uses Pumas but they don't give my foot any support. A lot of other Turbo Kick instructors are wearing Nike Shox running shoes? What is up with that? Those are running shoes with no lateral support and the grid is awful for pivots and turns. It must be the fad because everyone is wearing Nike Shox. Yuck. I am the lone reed standing out there to say that Ryka's are the best for kickboxing. My prescriptive inserts fit perfect. I always get a 12 in Rykas even though I wear an 11 1/2 but they don't make half sizes.
The only thing I don't like is they are a bit wide and the outer material part of the shoe makes my foot hot (I don't think they are very breathable) but if I wear Thorlos socks, it helps keep my foot dry because I sweat a lot with kickboxing.
So if you like the lightness of a Puma but with more arch support, these Rykas are great. They only make 2 colors though. The black are the best. I got the grey with the yellow stripe and well, with a size 12 shoe, they made my feet look like clowns feet so I returned them and kept the black. I hope Ryka keeps making these in different colors. It’s a great light shoe for kickboxing.

This is a good shoe for aerobics. It has lots of cushioning. As prior reviewers say, it runs small. I had to return 9 (my usual size) and get 9.5 in order to use a sock.

Fit's comfortable -
The sneaker fits nice, and stand up to my step and kickboxing classes. I'm not too fond of the style, but figure they are pretty comfortable and that’s what is important.

Great shoe but runs small -
I really liked this shoe and didn't want something clunky because I wear size 12 and want to look feminine, but I will have to return them. I don't think there is a size larger.

Good Buy!
I purchased these shoes to wear for Tae Bo because my regular running shoes hurt my arches. These helped due to the increased flexibility of the sole. They have a good grip too. I will definitely look for more such as these.

I could barely get these on my feet. They were small all the way around. I wear a size 9B and have slender feet and generally a regular width is fine for me. Reading the other reviews, I am surprised to find such a disparity on fit. If I reorder, it will have to be a 10W. They are gook looking shoes and seem like they would be great for my at home workouts, if I can get the proper fit.

Ryka Studio D is narrow than expected and comfort level could be improved. My arch was tender after wearing this shoe one time for an hour. Better arch support and more cushion in the sole. Picture of shoe online is better than in person...the shoe is ugly in my opinion.

I wanted a less-athletic looking shoe and thought this would fit the bill. I wear an 8.5, and ordered a 9, but needed a 9.5. The 9.5 was comfortable, and I think that I would have enjoyed it if I only focused on comfort. My main issue with these shoes is the quality with which they were constructed. The 'T' on the toe on the first pair was crooked on one shoe, and on the second pair, the 'T' was different widths from one shoe to the next. These are picky things, but it will keep me from buying Rykas again. If you do buy them, look them over carefully before wearing them.

My feet just seem to hurt while I workout in these shoes. It's not that they are too tight or not the right size. Something is just not that comfortable.
