Love the Frye's Dorado Riding Boots - I have them in the camel color... they are so stylish! You don't have to break them in... comfortable the first time you wear them.

Dorado Riding Boot - Brown - After being obsessed with these, decided to splurge on the brown boots. And although they come with a hefty price tag, these boots feel high quality - worth it! They go with skirts, dresses, skinny jeans, and even my boot cut jeans I thought I'd never wear again! Genius. My one complaint is that there is little to no arch support. Although they fit, my heel is constantly rubbing the boot. Hopefully this will stop once they're broken in?

Amazing - These are the best boots I ever had. Frye sizes run a little on the large side. I usually wear 9, but 8 1/2 fits me better in this boot. Excellent quality, really classic look, soft leather... Don't normally splurge on shoes, but I don't regret going over budget on these! I'll enjoy them for years.

The second I saw these shoes I fell in love and they became my staple. They are comfortable, no break in period required and have great calf room for your skinny jeans and leggings. However, I've had these since November, and wore them maybe 4 times a week... the sole has completely worn down to the inner cork. I'm not talking about a ton of walking here, just about 30 minutes on pavement each day. Luckily Frye has a 2 year warranty which includes sole and heal replacement. I'm sending them in this week... but I'm sorry to see them go.

I ordered these boots half a size up and I am glad that I did. I normally take a 6½, but in these boots I needed a 7. I am 5'7" tall and the shaft of the boots hit just under the kneecap. The only issues that I have with the boot is the heel slippage, which many reviewers mentioned and that they are extremely tight around the calf (and I have normal sized calves). There is no room to tuck in a skinny jean. I think I can fit leggings, but that is about it. The leather is very stiff and not as good a quality that I would have expected at this price point. Overall, the boots have a beautiful look to them.

I so wanted to love these boots, but it was not meant to be. Like many of the other reviewers I found the foot part too wide and the calf part way too wide. I ordered my normal size (7½) and they fit length-wise in the foot, so I do not think that sizing down would have solved the problem (it would have cramped my toes). As for the calf part, I do have thin legs, so I guess I am not typical, but these were too big around by 2-3", even with jeans tucked in. I am 5'4" (size 2) and I did not find the height of the boots to be an issue as some of the other reviewers did. I am going to try the Frye Carson Riding boots instead. The description indicates the circumference to be 1" smaller than that of the Dorado, and I did not see as many comments about the leg part being too wide on the Carson as I did on the Dorado. Fingers crossed!

They are worth the pain! I had to buy a boot stretcher for the toe area. Not sure why they have to make them so narrow. (Must be a man who made them!) I am 6'tall and love the shaft height and the low heal. If these are not too hard to break in, I may come back for more. Just wish they would come in a wider with....need room for the piggy's to wiggle.

I just got these boots a couple days ago and they are beautiful. Leather is great quality. I got the brown burnished antique and color is a little darker and more chocolate than the picture. I did not want them that dark. I also agree with other reviews about the toes being squeezed. The comfort just isn't there for me(I am used to Dansko level comfort!). The worst part of the boot for me was the shaft. It just gaped around my calf and the top hit my kneecap at a weird place. This shaft height just isn't right for me (5'6). Too bad.

These boots run narrow, so be warned if you have wide feet. I wish I had gone up half a size. They were also really hard to get on at first, but it is getting easier the more I wear them. Otherwise these boots are really cute in person. They are really good quality, and they go with everything! I love them!

I ordered the Dorado in suede. I normally wear a 7.5 and this boot is so small I think I need to go up a full size. I can't imagine the suede stretching enough to ever fit comfortably. The calf is perfect, however, so is the height. I will find the correct size even if I have to order and return them three times. I love this style. Just wish they fit true to size.

I love these boots. Once I saw them I knew they were my ideal of riding boots that can be worn as dress boots, and nothing else could compare from that point on. The styling is chic and elegant, but practical. The leather is beautiful with a finish that will wear in the best way. I took the comments here to heart, particularly regarding tightness in the toe box and heel slipping. I do experience both, but not to a degree that is uncomfortable, and as they are worn and broken in, those problems are disappearing. I generally wear a narrow size 6 1/2 so ordered a 6 and they feel right. They are probably about 1/2 inch too tall for me (I'm 5'1) but since they are notched out in the back, they're perfectly comfortable to walk in, and I suspect as the leather wears in and creases they will move slightly down my knee. Saving my pennies for more colors!

After reading the reviews that this beautiful boot fits wide and athletic calves, I eagerly ordered a size 8 pair and crossed my fingers. Although I am an average-sized woman, my calves are 16.5". When they arrived, I pulled them on, but they were a bit too snug for me. And jeans would never have fit tucked in them. They are also a very tall boot. I'm 5'5" and I felt like they were a bit too high up to my knees. I also didn't like the heel slip that was very obvious when walking; I'm afraid it would become annoying. For me, these boots ran true to size. If I wanted to wear thicker socks, I would order up a half-size. Sadly, I will have to return these.

I\'ve never reviewed anything before but felt the need to weigh in on these boots. I looked all over and couldn\'t find a similar boot at this price with anything comparable at least $750. After reading all the reviews and agonizing over which size [usually I just order 2 sizes and send the other back but didn\'t feel like spending $900] I sort of regret my decision. I usually wear a 7.5 shoe and typically an 8 in boots. The review consensus was that they ran sort of true to size but the heel slips so I bought the 8\'s. The slipping heel is no exaggeration. The toes are a little narrow so I think if I went down a 1/2 size they simply wouldn\'t be as comfortable. I even purchased gel heel cups before they arrived but those didn\'t stop the slipping and now I need to figure out more padding. The only time I have ever had to work this hard was for ski boots! I think the ample heel area is simply a design flaw. That said, these boots are lovely and really a pleasant surprise in terms of styling, quality of leather and workmanship. I\'m almost 5\'8" and these boots are tall and dramatic. Anyone much shorter should really think twice as these will hit uncomfortably at the knee. These are perfect for tucking pants into without any bunching but might be too roomy with skirts or dress for thin to average calves. They are surprisingly easy to get on and off without any tugging. The leather is supple and didn\'t need to be broken in. If at all possible, I would highly recommend buying your regular size and 1/2 down. Otherwise decide if you would rather tolerate pinched toes versus slipping heels. I opted for toes that fit because you can pad out a heel but you can\'t really stretch the toe box. I do love how they look and you won\'t really find any comparable style that isn\'t a designer brand.

These boots are gorgeous! They fit a half size larger. I wear a size 8 1/2 and ordered 9. Take the time to break them in, wearing them for one hour at a time, and they will be fabulous.

BEAUTIFUL boot, but heed the reviews given. This boot slips at the heel and is too tall for me. The ball of my foot is snug but the heel is flopping around. The top of the boot hits at mid knee cap. Two places for chafing and that won’t do on a pricey boot. It has to go back. :(

Unfortunately, I needed to return these boots. They run a half size smaller than marked. I normally take a solid size 6.5 and I had to take a 7 in these boots. As other reviewers stated, they are tight in the toe box and lose around the heel. At 5'7" tall, they were about 3" short of reaching my knee. I wish they were a little taller. They are so tight on the calves, I would not even be able to wear these with leggings tucked in, and definitely would not be able to tuck in a pair of skinny jeans and I have thin legs. I read all 160 reviews prior to purchasing these boots and really thought they would fit but, unfortunately, they did not. Maybe I got an "odd" pair, as the measurements were very tight compared to other reviewer s experienced. For the price, I would have expected a better quality of leather, also. These are just average, nothing special. I would rather spend more and get a much better quality boot.

These boots look nice but are so narrow in the toes that I could not wait to take them off. Normally I wear an 8.5 in Frye, but these felt tight. I got them in black... There was something about them that reminded me of rain boots. Frye has other much nicer style.

These are great looking boots, but I found them too roomy in most places and tight in others. I am a true size 8; my heel slipped when I walked; the calves are roomy, but I don't think I could go a size down because they fit tight (although with wear would be fine) in the wide part of my foot (toe joints). Great looking, nice quality, but I am returning them because they aren't quite perfect.

I\'m not a big fan of these boots. They seemed to fit in terms of size, but they slip in the heel and simply were not comfortable.

Dorado Boot - This boot looks great, but unfortunately the fit wasn’t the greatest. It does run true to size, I am a 9.5 & that was the size I needed. When I walked in the boot, it felt too loose in the heel & my foot kept coming out. It also feels hard on the sole, it doesn’t have a lot of cushioning. You might need to place a foot pad for cushion & to keep the boot in place.

Beautiful, but horrible. The taupe is darker than pictured. I generally wear a regular but the sides of my toes were squeezed and the worst part is there is nothing holding your heel in place. Even walking around the room hurts and I would expect blisters if I would wear them out.

I so love the way these boots look. But as I walked home last night, feet aching and raw spots rubbed in multiple places on my feet and ankles, I realized that they are the most uncomfortable footwear I've ever owned. Tight in the toe, loose in the heel, odd points of pressure along my ankles. Tragic.

Well, I have been persevering with these boots every couple of weeks but I am giving up. These were the first pair of Frye boots I have bought. They are still giving me blisters on the heel. Disappointed that I could never break them in.

I don't always buy leather boots, but when I do, they're Fryes. These classic, chic leather boots will last FOREVER. I have a few pairs of Frye boots, but these seem to be on another level of craftsmanship, the leather is so supple and stitching is perfect. They slipped on my heel initially, but that went away after they broke in. I normally wear a 9, but went up to a 9.5 due to the narrow toe and they fit like a dream.

I received these Dorado riding boots yesterday and I was surprised that they are a perfect fit! I have a very high instep and I usually need to go up 1/2 size to get my foot into the boot. These boots fit like a glove (with some heel slippage since they are new) and they are beautiful. I highly recommend them.
