Narrow - I disagree w/ the person who said you'd have to have abnormally large calves for these not to fit. My calves are about 14.5 inches around, which is average, and these barely fit over knee socks...since I live in snowy weather that's not practical, they need to fit over jeans, so I am going to try to wider Huntress one...these are too narrow to be functional.

OVER PRICED PRODUCT - Sorry to have to write this review, but here is my honest response. My daughter had to have these boots and she likes them, but this much for a pair of rubber boots that are not warm is crazy. You can get leather boots for a similar price. They are rubber boots that keep your feet dry in wet weather, but you need to wear something very warm to keep your feet warm. They could have put some kind of lining in them for that price. Make no mistake, they are very overpriced.

Look better than they perform - I was coveting these boots a long time before I finally made the purchase. The boots are made of a very nice rubber and I like how they fit through the calf and the height is great. However, there is virtually no support in the foot or ankle and while walking on woodland paths, you can feel each stick under foot. Digging in the garden is definitely out. I didn't detect any arch support. I put a pair of cushioned support insoles in and they are much better - but frankly for this price I don't really think that should be necessary. All that aside - I kept them because they are darn cute, simply classic styling, and they are great for frogging and salamander hunting (I have 2 little boys and a pond).

These boots are very cheaply made. I downgraded from a pair of green Tretorns because I bought a clashing coat and needed a pair of black Wellies. I love the classic look of them, but the difference is quite noticeable. First of all, the boots arrived scuffed up so I had to order a new pair, which also came scuffed. They both had streaks all over the rubber, which is really annoying for a pair of brand new boots. Secondly, I am a women’s size 10. The 40/41 was too small and the 42 too big. I ended up keeping the 42 because I wanted to wear the Wellie warmers with them in the winter, but the boots are extremely loose without them. Thirdly, the buckle is terrible. It barely functions. Lastly, the rubber sole is extremely gummy and has no support. The Tretorns I own have a really sturdy sole with great support. I remember wanting to purchase these right around the time Kate Moss was pictured in them several years ago. At that time, they were several hundred dollars. Since then, they have dropped drastically in price, which IMO must explain the shoddy craftsmanship and the fact that they are now made in China.

Like firemen's boots - I guess I'm in the minority, but I wasn't crazy about these boots. They're incredibly thick and heavy-duty, like firemen's boots. The whole boot was very large (not just size-wise, but the shaft was way too big around my calves). I didn't find them comfortable to walk in because they are so heavy. I guess if you're looking for a real industrial rain boot, these would be fine. The quality definitely seems to be top-notch.

I was disappointed by these boots. I bought them in the fall and had to send them back several times because the buckle part kept breaking, even though I never touched it! Eventually I got tired of sending them back and now I wear mine without the buckles with the little flaps sticking out. That is not my favorite look. I have seen others with the same problem. Otherwise I love the boots; the navy goes with everything and I can wear them all year. However I would not buy the kind with the buckle ever again.

Too tight on my calves, and I am 5'5"/125 lbs! The only way I could wear these is while wearing skinny jeans or leggings or shorts.

Eh - I love the way they look and I want to be able to wear them all the time, but they gave me terrible blisters and were almost impossible to take off. Literally. I almost thought I would never be able to see my feet again.

0 stars. I have purchased two pairs of Hunters in 3 years because they leak. If you look closely, the workmanship is of poor quality and you can see how the sole is slapped on with uneven and messy amounts of glue. And regardless what internet help sites tell you, there is no way to fix a leak. I've spent a lot at the shoe repair stores getting it re-glued. I tried the bike repairs kits. Guess what? They will continue to leak. I have splurged a few extra dollars on Le Chameu hoping I won't have to replace it next year. You definitely don't get what you paid for with these.

When I first got these boots, I loved them. However, I have owned these boots for just over 2 years and both boots have split in the tread leaving my feet soaking wet in the rain. They are rather expensive and I expected them to last much longer than this, especially from a company like Hunter. My last rain boots from another company lasted about 5 years. When I contacted Hunter, they said that they only have a 1 yr warranty on their products and refused to repair or replace them. I will never buy anything from Hunter again. There is no reason for such an expensive boot to be made with such poor quality materials.

These boots are amazing! I've had a pair since 2011 and you'd never know. I've worn them through all types of weather. Even hiked in the mountains in them. They keep my feet dry, are comfortable and totally versatile.

Cute but listen to the other comments about calves. I'm tall and thin and they fit me fine but my friend tried them on and they gave her a leg mushroom top. Ewww.

Love these boots! So comfortable. I ordered them a 1/2 size larger to fit my orthotics in. They are very supple feeling for a rubber boot - very soft rubber. I wouldn't choose them for heavy farm work beyond pulling weeds in the garden, as their softness makes them feel not all that protective (except from muck and water).

Very pleased with these boots. I had a high school sporting event to attend for the upcoming May weekend for my daughter and the forecast called for torrential rain and some serious mud. Zappos and these boots more than delivered. For the record, I am barely 5'1" tall (actually something like 5'0 and 3/4"), 48, 118lb, size 4 in clothes, size 7.5 wide to an 8 in shoes. I ordered the matte navy blue, size 7. I was more than a bit worried after reading some of the reviews that when I opened the box and put these on, that the tops would be over my knees and I'd look ridiculous, worse yet the boots would be totally unwearable. Not true! The tops of the boots sit about an inch below my knee caps in a size 7 (with still wiggle room to spare so I agree to size down). When standing they are comfortable and functional. I can walk fine. They keep your feet and calves dry. They look great with tights or skinny jeans though a bit challenging to get on/off unless you are sitting down as the shafts are narrow as many have mentioned. The only downside I see for someone my height is the top back part of the boot digs in a bit when I'm climbing stairs or sitting down (as in, driving). Also, these don't look good on me with shorts or a skirt though I've seen these on taller gals and they look cute with bare legs as well. I'm happy with the color which is neutral enough to pair with jeans for the fall/winter yet can still blend in with brighter pops of color for spring. Overall, an excellent wardrobe staple which I feel will last me for years to come.

Love these! I was concerned about the fit after reading some of the other reviews since I usually wear a 9.5 and I ordered a 9. Thankfully they fit really well. I do have fairly small calves so the fit in that area was a little more snug than I was expecting but it wasn't too tight by any means

I haven't had rain boots before so I wanted to make sure I got the best. Hunters came recommend by several of my friends. I put them right on upon receipt without socks on. Didn't know they would get stuck. At any rate I loved wearing them for an extended period of time till I had help yanking them off. Really love them and can easily put them on and remove when wearing socks. Totally water proof as I have tested them thoroughly. They look great and I am loving rainy days when I get to wear them other places and not just in my yard!

I just received these in the mail and I LOVE them. This is my first pair of hunter boots and I ordered the blue lily. The color is a little more muted than the picture--almost a periwinkle--and I love it! I am usually a 6 1/2 in shoes and I ordered the 6, and with socks, it is still comfortable. I also have big calves (gymnast all my life) and thought the tops of the boot fit fine. Not too baggy and sloppy looking but not squeezing the life out of my calf! Overall I love the boots and for the price (less than any department store) I will probably get another pair! Thanks Zappos!

I love them! The only small quibble I have is I wish they came in half sizes, but the boots are perfect for what I need so I can live with the very minor squish that I feel when I wear thicker socks.

I was looking for a new pair of rainboots for a while when I came across these. I thought they were a little pricey, but I gave in and bought them. They are so worth it! High quality and comfortable.

Excellent boot! I have 3 pairs and these are my favorite because of the color. Very comfortable. You're able to slip in and slip right out of them, which is nice. I've had so many compliments on these and I've only wore them to work twice!

I love these boots. They are warm, fit perfect with a pair of thick socks and will probably last forever. I usually wear a size 6.5 so I ordered the 6 and was a little nervous but they fit perfect. I love them!

I have been wanting these shoes since 2008 when I saw the green ones. I hate short rain boots that come up inches past your ankles. I wanted a higher shaft and the Hunters are perfect for me. The aren't tight around my feet or my calves. Love love love. Bought 2 pair!

Love this boot! I usually wear a 7.5, and I ordered an 8. Way too big, the 7 fits perfectly. The color is cute for spring. I'm definitely ordering a second boot in a darker color for the fall and winter season.

I love these boots! I am 5'4" and they fit me perfectly in terms of height/length. The width is great too, I can stuff my pants in without problem. I bought an 8 originally because my shoe size is 7.5 but they were way too big. The 7 fit perfectly and I was so happy with the very fast and easy return/exchange policy at Zappos.
