These boots are the rainboot to have...they somehow manage to be waterproof and adorable at the same time. Unfortunately, they run very narrow in the calf area. Beware! Before I ordered these boots, I would have said I had slim legs. I have even jokingly been called "Chicken Legs"! Now, I know I have "muscular calves" despite the fact that I am not athletic in any way. These boots just fit around my bare calves, and there would be no way to fit jeans, leggings, or even tights inside them. Alas, they are going back, and I think I will have to try the wider-widthed "Huntress," which I like less as they are not as tall as the "Original." I wish Hunter would consider making a wide-width "Original" so we all could look our cutest in the rain. Oh well.

I will be returning these boots because they are too narrow for my calves. I have never tried on rain boots this narrow! I was wearing very skinny jeans when I tried these on and my calves were thumping, because the boot shafts were nearly cutting off circulation to my legs! Other than that, these seem like very durable boots, and are very comfortable besides being way too narrow for me on the calves. I'm going to purchase the Hunter Huntress boots, I hear they fit better on wider calves.

I'm a 7.5 and I ordered this boot in an 8. It was way too big so I swapped it for a 7. I have really narrow feet, so the 7 fit length-wise but was a bit wide at the heel. I personally don't like the socks they sell to go with this, and my heel kept slipping with the regular socks, so I doubled up 2 pairs of socks and wore these all around Manhattan. They were great!

Finally broke down and got a pair since I had trouble finding tall, simple boot. They kept me pretty dry in rain/slush that we had recently - I say pretty dry since my socks were a damp when I took boots off. I think water may have leaked in from the bottom of my coat into my boot. They're comfortable and I like that they come up to my knee.

Love these rain boots because of their durability and the fact that they are a classic water-resistant staple in anyone's wardrobe. Their lack of insulation makes them wearable in the wet summer months and with a few layers of wool socks, they work in the winter too! Like any rain boot, they are a little bulky and not exactly sexy, also wish they came in 1/2 sizes although I'm not sure that makes sense with this type of shoe.

Great looking boots! Love the color. The shaft, however, was too small for my wide calves. I had to return them for the shorter boot. Customer Service at Zappos is excellent! I am now Zappos Believer!

I bought these boots to walk around campus in the rain. They're pretty comfortable, but on my lab day when I'm on my feet for almost four hours straight, my feet started getting tired out. I wish they had more arch support, but for general use they're great.

Sweaty feet - I usually wear 6.5 - 7, so I bought size 6 navy boot. I got them and they appeared to fit, but after wearing them for few hours my feet got really sweaty and uncomfortable. I think it was because the area on the top around my calf fit snugly and there was no room for air to circulate. The funny thing is that I still had enough room for my foot and ankle. I hope I'll be able to exchange them for a size larger with more room on top.

HUNTERS PRETTY GOOD! They're nice! They feel comfy, and so far have kept my feet dry and warm. I like the style, but if you are at all concerned with having skinny 'chicken legs' these are very close fitting to the calf. If you have a larger sized calf (I don't and they're still very snug) I would suggest going with the hunter huntress model, which are roomier.

GC Shopper - Although this boot looks & feels great, it developed a slight whitish ring around the foot after 2 wearings in the rain... this is what it's made for, right?

This is the rainboot I've been looking for! The thing I love most about this boot, is that it’s so versatile...they are cute enough to wear with skirts. And the color choices are great. The only thing I wish was different is the fit around the calf...a little snug, but do-able.

Nice boot but... The reviews are mostly correct about the boot being big - but that is mostly in the foot area - if you have muscular calves go a size up because the shaft is really tight.

Definitely not for those with larger calves... I bought these boots to use in the rain and come winter. I read a lot of great reviews about them and some co-workers own pairs and always rave about them. I followed what other reviewers wrote about the sizing and decided to buy what is my normal shoe size. Unfortunately, they were still too tight on my calves. I walk everywhere so I tend to have very muscular calves. They fit my sister perfectly though, so now she has a great new pair of rain boots. She's ecstatic about them and has used them quite a bit while working in Manhattan. She has received many compliments. These boots would be perfect if they came with adjustable shaft widths.

Love these Wellies - My friend lent my her Hunter's last winter and I fell in love with them. I ordered these wellies in orange and they are wonderful. Not only are they cute they are also quite useful. They actually have more arch support than other rubber rain boots I have tried on. Also Hunter's have the craftsmanship that other boots lack. These will last for quite some time. I would order a size smaller because they seem to run large unless you plan on wearing them with really thick socks.

These boots are beautiful new. I got the Navy in Original and am now regretting not getting the gloss. They bloom so rapidly. I have the spray but it's so much work. If you don't like that waxy look, get the gloss finish.

Love the color, but I'm 5'7" and 140 pounds and couldn't get the boot above my calf.

I see women wearing these boots in the rain and I have always wanted a pair in navy. I ordered them this past week in black to try on and see how they look on me. I am usually a 7.5 and ordered the 8 which I knew would be big on me, but I couldn't even get my left foot in the boot. I have high arches, ballerina feet, and so I couldn't get my foot past the narrow ankle of the boot. I have had this problem with pull on boots in the past, as well, so it's no surprise that I would have the same problem with these. In addition, I have very narrow calves and these boots are quite wide in the calf so when I put the right boot on it looked ridiculous on me. These boots are just not for me. Too bad.

These are tight and not suited for a wide shaft. I purchased these shoes and they were hard to slip on even without socks. I usually go for wide shaft (16" circumference) so these were tight to get on. I am sending them back.

I really wanted to love these boots, but as the other petite women have written, these just don't accommodate a smaller calf. The shaft came to my knee, but since the rubber is not supple like leather, the rubber hit the back of my thigh when I walked. I would have ended up with chafed thighs. I imagine they are made for tall people. Such a shame. I ordered the 6 1/2.

Super cute boots but way too hard to get on/off. I was really afraid that I wouldn't be able to get the boot off on my own and would have to knock on my neighbor's door for assistance. When on the fit was really good and the boots were super comfy. I'll be returning them and trying the Hunter Short boots in hopes that those will be easier to put on and take off.

Okay, first of all, I am 21, a bit chubby, big thighs with chubby legs, ugh. I really like these boots, but unfortunately, my legs just wont suck it up and fit into the boots! I am so sad! First I thought it was because I got smaller size than my original size which is a 6 and my real size is 7. I couldn't fit my leg into those boots, I was so disappointed. So I returned it and got a size 7. Once I got the boots, I prayed it'll fit! It didn't fit! So I'm guessing if you have big legs, these Hunter boots wont fit you, no matter the size you get. Or you can try to lose fat like me to fit into them, then let's pray we'll make it before winter comes! On another note, I love Zappos!

Silver Hunters are what you would expect - The boot is a fairly comfortable rather roomy feel. It is fun and does what it sets out to do: it keeps you very dry in wet weather.
