Just be ready for a long break in time. They are not comfy; they do, however, look great.

Fit is great but beware heel is not good for slick surfaces. I live in a wet climate area, walk heel to toe when stepping, and was slipping on smooth floors. I actually fell on my back walking on a wet surface (I am not on medication, do not normally fall, nor had consumed alcohol). Only the back third of the heel piece has a grip sole piece on it. The rest of the heel has a thin smooth vinyl like layer. I had a cobbler resole both entire heels for $20 and this solved the problem.

I ordered the Black Waxy Tumbled Leather ones since they are cheaper than the Black Soft Vintage Leather ones. While I love this boot, I did wind up paying the extra money to get the Black Soft Vintage Leather ones because the Waxy Tumbled Leather ones looked and felt like plastic.

I have normal heels and there was tremendous heel slippage in this shoe at my size. I will try a half size down. The red is darker/browner than shown. Pretty color, just not what I was expecting.

Great color and style. The quality of the leather is very nice. They do not have much padding in the sole, I"m considering buying a cushy insert. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. The more I wear them, the more I like them.

I love the boots, but be careful with the colors online because I ordered a different color and it looked nothing like the photo. The boots do not run true to size and I ordered 1/2 size up and they fit after returning the smaller size. If you have a wide foot these might not be a great boot because the toe area is slim.

Frye boots are made well and these are lighter than some but my foot does pull out at the heal when I walk. But the smaller size felt too tight. So I would say they run big.

I first tried the Veronica short boots with the back zip and couldn't get them on in my size. The zip was too difficult to pull up and the length was just too short. Even a half size bigger was too tight. I returned them and tried these ones, also in a half size up, and they fit like a dream. Since they're pull-on, my high instep required me to get a half size bigger. Love them.

Love these. The only issue is the stitching around the top of one of the boots is actually ruining my pants. :( It is pulling the fabric. Will take to a shoemaker and hope it's fixable.

Ok, decided I wanted a pair of Frye Veronica boots, first order was for these shorties in the dark brown stone wash. Frye boots are notoriously hard to break in, so i wanted something a little roughed up. I am a 7 to a 7.5, so I ordered the 7.5, figuring winter coming and thick socks and all. Boots arrived, and boy was I disappointed in the way they looked and felt. The leather was like smooth, dusty old vinyl, the color a dull waxy grayish tinged brown. They certainly did not look like they cost three hundred dollars, and nowhere near as nice as the photo. Zappos has the most wonderful customer service and return policy, so I looked over the Veronica Shortie and Short choices again, and figured I would try the Veronica SHORT (there is a difference, however small) in a different finish - the dark brown stone antique. NOW I am happy! The leather is richer and more supple, not a smooth and fake looking, and while still "stone washed", it retains that glow that new leather has, and the boots are a warmer toned brown color. The shaft is higher, the heel is higher, and over all it is a heavier more substantial boot, and has the look of a boot in it's price category. I also sized up to an 8. Put them on the minute they arrived, and they are already comfy, with a little extra room to stretch and leave some space for thicker socks. Thanks Zappos, as always, you guys are wonderful. I will be a customer for life!

Really cute but pinched my wide little foot too much, and weirdly my heels kept sliding up and down when I walked. Couldn't get the brown I wanted to so ordered black pebbled and they were gorgeous. Could wear with anything. But I sent them back. Thanks Zappos for the fabulous return policy.

I don't know why people are saying these boots run small. I need to go down at least 1 whole size (I am between an 8.5 and 9 and need an 8). I bought the 9 due to the reviews on here but knew Fryes ran huge, and I was right.

These are such cute boots. My foot is a bit narrow so I had to put an insert in these to keep them on. Wish they were a bit more snug on my foot, but I would still highly recommend these.

I loved everything about this boot but didn't love the orange stripe around the toe bed (where the leather is sewn onto the sole) - it's pretty bright orange and I found it distracting from the rest of the boot...bummer.

I usually wear an 8 1/2 and have a thin heel. I'm returning the 8 1/2s, as my heel walks out of them. I'll now order the 8's and hope they fit. These boots are great looking and the leather is very soft (in the black soft vintage leather).

I lusted over Frye boots for many years. I finally broke down, and bought a pair of Veronica Shorties. I really wanted these to work. The leather on the shaft was buttery-soft and the boot itself was absolutely gorgeous. I was able to get my foot in without the plastic bag trick I hear people talking about. But the toe box was super snug. In 30 seconds I knew I wouldn't be keeping them. I considered having them stretched, but the effectiveness of stretching the toe box seemed to have mixed reviews. I would have ordered a half size up, but they were out of stock. Back to the drawing board for me.

My daughter loves these boots, but we have had to return a pair because the heel started to fall apart after 6 weeks. I hope this was a one time issue. Zappos was wonderful as usual with the return made super easy, but one would hope that at this price, the boots were built to last.

After searching for a cute motorcycle boot, I decided on these. I have several pairs of frye shoes and these have not disappointed. I did go up half a size than my normal size in Frye's. They do rub a little bit on the back of my heel but that is fixed by wearing socks.

I looked at boots for a long time and finally decided on this boot. It is a beautiful pair and you can tell that the workmanship and leather quality are very high. I am always a size 6 in all my boots and these were a little tight at first. It took 2 full weeks of wearing pretty much daily to break these in. Now, they are just a few wears away from being comfortable! They are narrower than they looked in the picture so I was a little disappointed in that but they still look great. I also love how they are wider because I am short 5 ft. 1 and I have wide calves and I can tuck my jeans into them. My biggest complaint is that they are kind of slippery and the heel portion seems to wear away too easy. Other than that, I love them and they are my new favorite boot.

These are great looking boots, but unlike most Frye's in the above price point, these are not lined! You should definitely think about going 1/2 size up and wearing thick socks, or the back of your heels will hate you.

This is my first pair of Fryes. They are an awesome looking boot - totally adorable with leggings and the distressing on the burnished antique black is believable. My issue with the fit is the width and height in the front part of the boot from toe to arch. They seem to squeeze my feet and make them fall asleep. I'm hoping they just need to be stretched and worn in a bit, because for the price they should feel like walking on clouds.

I love the style of the boot, but it is a much lighter brown than in the picture and much more worn out looking. I thought they sent the wrong boot - but the sticker claims it is this one. I would have returned but when first tried on, didn't do it on a carpet so there were some scruffs from just after a few minutes on the sole. I still love the style so will keep, but they will be for much more casual outfits. Also, I ordered a half size up, but still very tight. Put on some thick socks and used a hot blow dryer to help loosen/stretch the leather.

Just got the chocolate vintage today. They are gorgeous! They have that worn, new look which I love. Purchased my usual size eight, and the fit is comfortable. Been eying them for awhile and decided to take the leap. Glad I did. Zappos and Frye, what a combo!

I generally wear a 7.5 in boots, and I have a slightly wide forefoot and narrower heel. I own a LOT of boots but can generally wear a 7.5 in boots (unless it's an Old Gringo, when you should size a 1/2 size down, which I do). I have another pair of Frye boots with the exact same style of the foot, and I took a 7.5 in those. However, in these, with a 7.5 my toes felt squashed laterally so I decided to return them. Great color though, and the leather is divine, just not a good fit for me.
