I got these boots as a gift. I have very wide feet so was pleasantly surprised when they were wide enough for me. I don't think I noticed a break in period, But I haven't had them on for a long period of time yet, just 4-5 hours at a time. I wore these with a midi length skirt, leggings and sweater and the looked great! The leather of the boot shaft is very soft and supple and comfortable. I normally wear a size 7 to 7.5 and size up yo an 8 due to my wide feet but these in 7.5 fit me fine. Overall nice boot.

I wanted to love these boots. The gray color was what I was looking for, I love the style and the buttery soft leather, but the toes! I have fairly wide feet and really need a wider toe box. As fashionable as the pointy toe look is, I am not a fan. Feet were not meant to fit into those. While I love the look of Frye boots, I wish they would introduce more styles that accommodate the wider footed gal! More like the Campus toe please!

I was hoping to add these in my shoe collection as my 4th pair of Frye boots. However, my ankles were too skinny and I was disappointed they didn't work out for me.

I like my new Frye boots just fine. The fit is loose but once the heel pocket breaks in good. The shearling is cozy although after a rough winter it has worn off on one ankle. But this boot does not have the old style traditional lug sole. It has a rubber sole with imitation luga that do not grip into the snow and the rubber is slippery. As far as city snow boots go that was a huge disappointment.

Cute boots. I'm between a 7.5 and 8 but the 7.5 was still big. Wanted something that looked good with shorts but these are not it.Although they are beautiful leather boots I am going to return.

I bought these shoes to go trudging around Europe in and absolutely love them. I do not, however, recommend buying them and finishing your breaking in while walking around cobblestoned streets. BUT they look very stylish, and are very comfortable. These will last me for many, many years. And many, many trips around the World.

I bought these boots less than a year ago and absolutely LOVE them! It took some time to stretch them out but now fit perfectly. The only negatives, there seems to be a defect in the construction of the left footbed that I can feel but is bearable and the leather piece on the heal towards the arch on the bottom of both boots is lifting, likely I will have to send them in or bring them somewhere to be repaired.

I bought these a few months ago and while I love them because they are cute, I still feel like I'm breaking them in. Moreover, they feel a size too small even though I ordered my usual size. So, they seem to run small.

I was looking for a mid-calf boot. These are 90% perfect. The Black Soft Vintage Leather is a beautiful material, and the boots have a nice heavy weight. I typically wear a 5.5 or 6 in most shoes. I was swimming in the 6's, and exchanged for the 5.5. They are still a bit loose, but good enough with socks and the heel grips I added, so I did not try the size 5. My only gripe is that I wish the boot shaft was about 1" taller like the Frye Natalie Mid Engineer, but that extra inch comes with a hefty price increase. So, Veronica Shortie it is.

I ordered these and a pair of Natalie Mid Engineer Lug in the same size, and these were sloppy-loose / too big on me while the Natalies were nearly too tight. These are a gorgeous boot, though. so I am going to exchange them for the next half-size down and see if they fit me better.

Ordered my normal size 7 after reading the reviews and wish I had gotten 1/2 size smaller. The boot slips a lot even with thick socks. I expected a little heel slippage since they are supposed to fit like cowboy boots but definitely need a smaller size in these. My daughter who is a true size 7-1/2 tried them on and they fit her much better and still have a little slip in the heel. They are truly comfortable boots, however. Since I've worn them now and can't return I guess I will have to donate these to my daughter and buy the 6-1/2 for myself. It's frustrating since reviews on sizing seem to be all over the board.

Beautifully made and very cute but I think pic is better than in person. I stand all day and I am lookin for a boot that will not be stiff and hurt my feet. I tried these on and they don't bend well with walking and no cushion in insole. Although cute, I could not bring myself to keep them. They probably get better with wear but they're still not going to be as comfortable as I need. I also was not crazy about the difficulty of getting these on (no zip) yet once they were on they were kind of loose in heel. Just not for me.

These run at least half a size too large. I'm a 6.5 in my two other pairs of Frye boots (Melissa Button and another tall pair not here anymore so I don't know the style name) and the 6.5 of these my heel was sliding all over the place walking in them.
I ordered the Jenna Engineer in 6.5 at the same time and while the styles are very similar, the Jenna fit true to my usual Frye size. I kept those and took these back. Cute boots though!

I love Frye boots and was expecting a more distressed look when I ordered these. Unfortunately, they were much shinier than I expected.

Overall quality is great. The boot does run narrow through the toes and wider towards the heel. My left boot slipped in the back. A very thick pair of socks kept it from rubbing and causing a blister.

Love the color and the look but sizing is wrong. Fits in the body and toe and heel slips out. Afraid smaller size will fit in the heel but will be too small in the rest of the boot. Sadly returning.

this is a great boot, slouchy-ish style. Comfortable and great with skinny jeans when you don't feel like putting on a tall boot. It just runs a little big!

I have worn my boots about 5 times now and it took about 3 all day wearings to get them broken in. I was getting worried my heels would always be sore, but the boots finally broke in. I read the other comments and worried about the size. I wear a 6, ordered a 6, and they are about right, if a little on the small size.

These boots are great - comfy and stylishly different. I got the Stonewashed Stone color which is 2 tone black and cream/stone and they are so cool looking. I've gotten many compliments. If you have any extra stone stonewash leather sitting around and want to make me a Harvest Tote, I'll take one!!! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of crazy heel slippage. I don't mind too much because it's a boot and the boot shaft keeps them on your feet. If they were regular shoes, they would come completely off your foot. So it would be better if there was little or no heel slippage.

My review is all about sizing. I've never bought Frye boots before, so I wasn't sure how to order. Based on the reviews (majority of people said true to size), I ordered a 9.5. I sent them back for a 9, and then sent them back one more time for an 8.5 The 8.5 fits best. I have a narrow foot, so maybe that was the problem, but I had MAJOR heel slippage in the larger sizes. The style is awesome though, I can't wait to wear them!
