These are awesome boots. I searched far and wide to find boots after taking the plunge and buying skinny jeans and leggings. They work very well for those, as they balance out my torso and feet. I also looked at the Veronica Slouches, which I also loved. The Shorties, however, were better for my short legs and they seem more versatile, as I can wear them under bootleg jeans as well. I got the Vintage Brushed Dark Brown which are lovely. I thought they might be too "faux" based on another review, but I think they are such a nice, rich brown that I don't really notice the reddish areas, and I like the white stitching. Only down side is I wish they had better arch support like my Dansko and Sanita clogs.

I just got my boots and I love them! I ordered the tumbled black in a size 10. Many have said that the black is not a solid black but more of a gray. I was worried mine would be the same when I got them but they are a solid true black...beautiful! I got compliments the first day I wore them. They do rub a little on my heel; I feel like it will be better when they are broken in. They fit true in the foot. I would say I have a regular width foot (not narrow or wide) and they fit perfectly in the foot. I am also athletic so I have basketball calf muscles and I had to tighten them as much as they would go on the top. Looks great with skinny jeans! I struggled so much with the price but I was so happy I finally got them. Very satisfied! I love my Vernica Shorties!

These boots are on my feet at the moment. I am a loyal Frye boot fan. These, like all their boots, are well made. They are comfortable enought to wear all day long. I did size up a half size and liked the way they fit.

I received these a couple of days ago, and am wearing them around now trying to break them in. First, it's true, they run small. I'm a true size ten and run wide, so I ordered an 11, and even still they feel snug on the width. I think that they tend to run more narrow than average as well. After wearing them for a few hours (and soaking certain areas in rubbing alcohol) I feel like they are conforming to my feet better, but they are stiff. Which is good - they are solid, quality construction. The shaft of the boot is not stiff at all, it is very soft leather, and very comfortable against the leg. I can tell these boots are going to be very comfortable after wearing them for a while. But I can't give them a 5 for comfort yet. I ordered the dark burnished brown (or some such name) and it is super dark. At first I thought they were black, and they don't have a lot of burnished look to them. But I like them. This is my second pair of Frye boots and I'll order another...when I can justify the cost!

Researched quite a bit and finally ordered the boots for my birthday. I love the style, weight of shoe and the soft leather. I ordered a 1/2 size up because I have wide feet. The 7.5's arrived and they slipped in the back. I then ordered the 7 and Zappos shipped next day (thank you). Luckily I kept the 7.5 because the 7's were way too tight! I purchased heel grips for my 7.5's and wear comfy socks with them. Love 'em and my sister just ordered hers!

I love my new boot, the 7 1/2 fits perfect. I got it in the Dark Brown which looks great and will go with everything. I can't wait for cooler weather. This was my first Frye purchase and it won't be my last!

Love these boots! Fit great and were really comfortable right from the start. Wore them 7 days straight on a motorcycle ride through all sorts of weather and my feet were happy the whole time. They are good looking too!

This is my second pair of Frye boots and I absolutely love them. I ordered them without trying them on, and the sizing feels great. The strap is adjustable, just in-case you have some heel slippage. I made the mistake of wearing ultra thin socks the first time I wore them, and got giant blisters on my heels. I'd say it took about 6 days of wearing them before they felt fully broken in and now I can wear any type of socks. As always, Zappos shipped them immediately and delivered on time! Wouldn't order my shoes from anywhere else.

I love these boots! It took me about a week to break them in successfully, but now they fit like a charm are comfortable and endlessly stylish. My favorite feature are the soles of the boots, which have a very nice amount of traction to them. These are not boots that will slide on wet grass or concrete, good traction! I recommend them to everyone!

Of all the Frye boots, Veronica shortie is my favorite. I wear 7 1/2 but ordered an 8 because they run a little small. They are also narrow,and I sized up to get the width. I get so many compliments on them.

I love these boots! They are the best, I get so many compliments on them! I ordered them in the dark vintage brown and they are so beautiful! Photos don't begin to do the justice for these boots. I will 100% be ordering them in another color!

I love these boots. I ordered a size 9 (a half size up from my normal size) and still had trouble getting into them at first, enough that I thought they'd have to go back. But after awhile of walking around the foot beds packed down and/or the uppers stretched enough that I decided to keep them, though they were still pretty snug over my instep & forefoot. I figured they'd stretch a bit more with wear. I've worn them several times since and the leather is getting softer and even more comfortable, and they definitely have stretched more. Now they're almost a touch too roomy, but still fine with socks. The leather is gorgeous. Got the Dark Brown Vintage, love the burnished look it's very pretty.

I am so happy I bought these boots! I am willing to pay a bit more for shoes/boots that have a classic style. I wear a size 10, and these fit perfectly! They also are sleek, not clunky and big looking. I bought them in brown, and the color is so pretty. It's a true brown and not orange!

This is an absolutely wonderful looking boot. I have always wanted a pair of Frye boots and I am happy with my purchase. I think my only dis-satisfaction comes from how narrow these boots are. I have narrow feet to begin with (my family calls me bird feet - lol), but they are still too narrow for me to wear without looking into having the leather stretched a bit. I absolutely love them though, so I don’t want to return them. I think it will loosen in time as well. If you are willing to invest in some stretching or wait for them to loosen a bit, these will be long term gems! The quality is very high.

These boots are awesome. They fit true to size and are very comfortable. I love wearing them with jeans or leggings. At first, Zappos was out of stock in my size. 2 weeks later, I received an email that they were back in stock. One day later, I had my boots in my hands and on my feet. I would certainly recommend to buy these boots, actually I just did. My fiance just ordered them in the men's black.

These are great boots and that are well worth the money! I have looked at these for a long time and after trying on different ones and sending others back I'm glad I made this choice! They are comfortable but since I have a narrower heel I ordered 1/2 size down from my regular size. AGAIN THIS I A STYLE that will never go away!

Super cute, the taupe is a very nice, rustic looking brown. The smell that came from the box when opened was divine, nothing like fresh leather! I have super huge calves and I am 5’5”, so the height of the boot was great for me. Wore them once for several hours with a pair of thin socks and my feet felt fine, no blisters or anything. The heel slips, but boot heels often do slip. I normally wear a 9.5-10 in shoes, but I order up to an 11 in boots because I find that they run narrower in general, especially with pull on styles. An 11 in this boot fits great, my feet are normal width, not super wide or anything. Overall very happy with this boot and will wear it for years to come!

Great little boot. I was looking for something mid-height to wear with skinny jeans and these do the job well. I got them in Taupe and the color is very versatile. Looks good with black or brown. They are a bit narrow (and I have narrow feet), but I wore them around my house last night with a thick sock and can already tell that they’re stretching. I generally wear a 10, but got these in a 9.5 as Frye runs large. With a little more wear, they will be perfect.

Super cute boot. It's got enough toughness but not too much that it doesn't look feminine. I ordered a 1/2 size larger (same as the tall Veronica Slouch) and these fit perfectly with thick socks. The shaft height is good for me, I'm about 5"2. There's plenty of room if you want to tuck jeans into them but I plan to wear them with leggings and dresses. The quality of these boots are top notch as expected with Frye's. No break in time needed. You won't be disappointed. Zappos rocks too!

I ordered the Veronica Shortie boots very late Sunday night and got them Tuesday morning. Fab service Zappos! I absolutely love these boots! Like most reviewers have said, they're snug on foot & looser on heel when you 1st wear them, but I'm sure they'll be fine by next week. I ordered the dark brown & what a beautiful brown it is! I tried all types of jeans on with them & they all look great (not too wide in calf for me & perfect height, I'm 5'7"). I thought I would get the taller boots, but after my husband said "everyone has them" I changed my mind and got the 'shorties'. So glad I did. You can wear these with anything and never feel that they're 'too much boot'. Go splurge!

Having been away from the Frye line for years, and then rediscovering it through Zappos, I thought I would give them a try. I had become fed up with the poor quality and plastic soles on a lot of high end boots. I browsed and found the cutest pair of ankle high Harness boots that were so well made, leather sole and heel, excellent leather, first rate work...they came and I was in love with Frye and HAD to have another pair. I did some research, and found that not all Frye boots have leather soles and heels. I wanted to be able to have them resoled should they need it because they are an investment that gets better with age if taken care of. I came across the Veronica Shortie and instantly liked the look. I wanted a substantial sole but a low heel this time. These go with straight leg Jeans perfectly...even older faded ones are elevated several notches, with this boot. The finish is superb and the smell of the leather tells you that you made a first rate choice that you will be happy with for years. You will not go wrong with this versatile, comfortable, boot. I already have a third pair picked out that I will order through Zappos!

I love these boots. They felt great when I first put them on and have continued to feel great each time. They seemed to run true to size. The color is nice and the details make them look great. I will invest in another pair someday soon.

This is my run-around boot during the fall and early spring. Depending on the snow and ice, I wear it in the winter also. I have a wide forefoot, so I do get the boots stretched a little before wearing them, but otherwise it fits true to size. It looks great with jeans, cords, and casual skirts. I have tried Frye boots with higher heels, but this is much more comfortable for me. Having worn down my first pair (which I now wear for yardwork), I am on to the second pair.

I bought them in butter color. And I am absolutely in love with them! Though I never tried them outside (it's freezing). I usually don't buy such an expensive shoes, but they worth it! The quality is very good, leather looks awesome, expensive, and the most important, the balance is made of leather, too. 99% of shoes have rubber or foam or whatever balance which is awful for our feet. My aunt used to work at shoe factory and she knew all about shoes. And she told me to try by all means not to wear "artificial" shoes. Also these shoes looks so cool I couldn't give them up even though they are a little tight for me. I hope eventually it will be okay. Very well made.

I absolutely love Zappos. Frye makes a great boot and Zappos sells them at a competitive price. Plus, the free shipping back and forth is wonderful. They are a very reliable place to shop and extremely friendly if you need to contact them. I have made several purchases with them and I am always satisfied.
