These boots run true to size. Typically, I go up half a size and I do not with this style. They are roomy in the toe box and will work well for a person who has a wider toe area but is not actually a wide width. They are also great for those with a regular width as my sister wears them well with out extra socks. The leather is buttery soft and the boot is comfortable from the moment you put them on. I would recommend waterproofing. These look great with jeans, leggings as well as skirts and dresses. These are wonderfully versatile boots!

These Frye boot probably don't need another happy review...but I love them so much. I order my regular size in Frye...and that works for my very average foot. I got the Black Antique finish and it is a wonderful charcoal grey, They do lift slightly in the heel, but I don't foresee that being a problem. The top is slightly slouchier than depicted, and that is fine too. These will soon be a go-to boot for fast approaching fall with skinny jeans and long skits.

These are stylish and comfortable. Much more comfortable than the last Fryes I bought. The fit is good and true to size according to other reviews. I really like ordering from Zappos. Efficient and reviews are so helpful.

A beautiful, classic biker boot. I'm looking forward to rocking this with skinny jeans as soon as the California fall weather sets in. The boot seems true to size and feels like it's going to be comfortable to walk in.

I took other's advice and went up a size but they were huge and flipping off my feet so I had to send them back. I wore them for the first time today and I got a major blister on my foot. I guess I will be bandaging up my ankle from now on. But it is worth it because I love them. I just hope they stretch a little over time!

These boots were a good investment. I love the look of them. I normally wear 6.5 but I ordered a 7 based on reviews. That, and zappos was sold out of 6.5. The 6.5 would've fit me better but 7 is fine since I can wear thick socks with it. No biggie. Also, they're a bit narrow but I still think they're fine. Just need to be broken in a little.

I absolutely love these boots. I originally ordered a 7½ (my usual shoe size is between 7-7½). I thought I was being safe by ordering the 7½, but they were still pretty snug as soon as I wore them with socks. I returned them and ordered an 8. Now they fit perfectly! They look cute with everything. I wore them with my business casual dress to work to add some edge, and they are also perfect over skinny jeans, leggings, everything. I am so happy with them!

Love these boots. I thought they were a little too cowboy-ish (in dark brown burnished) and wasn't sure if I liked them or not at first, but as soon as I put them on and started walking, I was amazed how comfortable they felt on my feet. 2 days after the boots arrived, we took a business trip to Germany. I wore them the whole time (5 days) and had no problem. These boots are so comfortable that I am actually thinking about buying another pair in a different color. My husband thinks they can look very classy with some skirts/dresses. Run true to size. Highly recommended.

I love the Veronica shortie. They are very well made and comfy. I usually wear a size 8 but needed to order an 8.5.

I bought Veronica shortie's in black antique burnished leather. The tone is an unusual blue-black that is quite striking. The leather is supple and soft. Overall look is very stylish. I am an 8.5 and the Frye 8.5 was the best fit for me (I have another pair of Veronica shorts in chocolate brown, which best fit me in a size 8). I really love these boots and I plan to wear them often and for a long time!

These boots are awesome! I wanted black boots but not shiny, jet black...these exceeded my expectations! Somewhat charcoal with a marbled look on the upper shaft...just beautiful and so versatile with many colors. Although pricey, they are boots that will last forever...such quality!

I have been dreaming about these boots for the last 6 months! I finally took the plunge and ordered them and I'm so glad I did. These are the most amazing boots! These look great with jeans tucked in or out and the color & quality are just awesome! After reading all the reviews on several websites and being thoroughly confused I decided to just order my normal size and they fit perfect with a thin sock. I just got my shoes in the mail and I am in love! These are the perfect motorcycle boots without looking too boyish. I can already see myself wearing these many winters to come! I usually wear a 8 but I ordered a 8½ and I am so glad that I did! They fit perfectly length and width wise.

Love this boot. It may slightly narrow across the instep, but is already loosening up. I have the bronze color -- gorgeous! Attention Zappos: let's get this in in black. Pretty please!

I am 5'9" with 15" calves. I'm typically a size 10, but ordered a 9.5. Perfect fit with thin socks, slightly tight with thick socks. But, I expect them to soften and stretch a bit with age. Tall vs. Short I ordered the Veronica Slouch (tall version) and the Shortie to compare. Both were fabulous quality, but the Slouch tall version hit my calves on the widest part, and looked too normal for me. I wanted a bit more funk. Colors I accidentally got the "dark brown burnished antiques" finish in the shortie and did not like it at all. Too old/dirty looking. Too boy-ish. They were out of the classic dark brown I wanted, but stumbled across the BRONZE BRUSHED finish. JOY!!! IT IS SOOO BEAUTIFUL. The design is rustic enough, to perfectly complement the matte shine finish. I am SO in love. They hit me at the narrowest part of my calves, and feel more biker-ish rather than equestrian. I bought some colorful knee socks to scrunch down and have a pop of color peeking over the top. Wearing with leggings today, but psyched to try skirts and shorts too. My first pair of Fryes and I think I'm hooked. WELL WORTH THE PRICE! LOVE, LOVE. (Also Zappos is amazing, but duh, we all know that.) :)

Ok here is my review, hope this helps you fellow fashionistas. I had ordered 4 pairs of boots in the last 2 months on the quest for the perfect boot (yes I know its still summer). I have been swooning over these boots for about year or so and needed them as my name is Veronica. Its my destiny to have these, right? First I tried the distressed cognac in 9.5. Wow they were narrow and too much toe space, had to return. Then I ordered the distressed brown in a 9 and holy crap, even more narrow. I had them professionally stretched to accommodate my widerish foot. They were still tight but I know how leather goes, it stretches the more you wear them. These boots were especially tight in my ankle area. Wore them one day and feet were sore and then the heel insole began to lift up on me. For boots so expensive I had to return them. Thanks to Zappos for understanding I had worn them out and about already they considered this a manufacturer defect and credited me back my money before I even got around to return them. Great customer service. Back to the quest for perfect boots I tried the Frye Jackson boots in a 7.5 (mens sizes) as an alternative for my square foot, these slipped on perfectly and look very similar to the Veronicas however they seemed more tapered at the toe and just too long, then I tried the Frye Rogan in a size 7(again in mens sizes). This boot was the worst. I literally broke a sweat getting this boot on my foot (even the plastic bag trick did not work). Once on I still had a little too much toe room and they looked big and clunky. Ok, time to return them now too. I was ready to give up. I thought my foot was just not made for boots. Then I decided to shop around in some thrift stores to search out a pair of good leather boots already broken in (love to get a deal too, thrift stores are great). Had no luck with this however I was so close to my local Nordstrom I decided to peruse the shoe section, my god I love Nordies shoe selection. To my surprise they had Fryes on sale! Yes on sale. Turned out they were preparing for the Anniversary sale the next say. For sh*ts and giggles I decided to try the Frye Veronica on in a size 9, waxy black smooth leather. To my surprise this boots slipped on like it was made for my foot! The fit was just snug enough :) I could even wiggle my toes and didn't seem nearly as narrow as the distressed leather I had previously tried. I do have a little space from my large toe to the tip of the boot but its a tapered boot so I don't expect my toe to go to the tip (considering my feet are more squared/boxy) and once broken in I can wear medium size socks and put a comfy insole in as these boots are not very cushioned. I didn't try the 8.5 and wish I had, although I'm sure it would have been a struggle to get my foot in, if it would have even gone in! I'm happy with the size 9, will have to wait and see what the outcome will be once fully broken in. Also the heel was not tight in these compared to the other 9 Veronicas I tried, these even seem to be a little on the looser side. My best advice is to try a few different sizes and also a few different leather finishes. Seems as if the waxy/smooth leather fits much much better then the stiffer distressed leather. Like a whole different fit! If at all possible go to Norides and try them on, or whoever sells these boots around your way. Was totally happy I got the special Nordstrom members! (Saved a lot of bucks people!). Zappos I love, love, love!

These are big for me. I usually wear a 9 but sometimes I can do an 8½. I thought the leather seemed a bit thin too.

I absolutely love these boots. It is rare that I wear these out and do not get a compliment. I love Fryes and have worn this brand for years. The quality is wonderful and worth the price. These boots are basics that will last for years.

A fabulous boot, especially for those who have a wide calf and have problems fitting into a tall boot. The full grain leather was especially easier on the width.

Love these boots! So comfortable (although they did need "breaking-in" for a few days). A little narrow but softened with time.

These were the most comfortable out-of-the-box shoes I've ever worn, hands down. Completely worth the price -- the leather is perfect and I can definitely see getting like, at least ten years worth of wear out of these boots, no problem. In other words, about reasonably priced for boots that do not leak, do not squeak, fit amazingly, look amazing. I'd otherwise spend that same money on crappy quality boots year after year! Much better and so much more worth it, especially since I imagine these would last beyond ten years, to just splurge that paycheck and get these. Seriously, they're amazing and the slouch is just right. Perfect. In terms of being a helpful reviewer, though, I do have wide-ish feet. Wearing slightly thick socks was a bit uncomfortable, but I live in California and I don't need to wear thick socks, anyway. It was easy to slide in, easy to slide out -- perfect.

Very good quality, very comfortable. Flat heel without being too flat. The leather is so soft and comfy. Sizes run about 1/2 size large. I usually wear an 8.5/9, but in this case the 8.5 was a tad big, which is okay because I plan to wear these with socks.

Love my Frye boots! I thought long and hard before spending this amount of money on a pair of boots. I thought about how wonderful Zappos is about return shipping and thought what the heck, I'd try them out. I love these boots. They scream quality from one end to the other. They look great with all of the colors in my closet. They smell terrific! I can dress up or down. I'm thinking these will be with me for many years. I wear a 10 in Salomon and in Born shoes and these fit perfectly. They fit, and by that I mean, with my relatively thin feet, and with some smartwool socks, they fit perfectly.

Overall, gorgeous boots. They were terrible to break in. I walk a lot, and they were really stiff, but now feel really great. I can tell they will be fantastic for when it gets colder because they're nice and heavy. The style did not disappoint; they were exactly what I wanted! You can also see the craftsmanship that Frye puts into every piece, so the price tag makes more sense. I love them and would absolutely recommend anyone looking for a solid, investment pair of boots.
