These boots are beautiful. Needs a bit of breaking in, are a tad bit narrow, but otherwise pretty comfortable. My only complaint is that the dye comes off completely with any scrape or nick. For the price of this boot, the dye should have more "depth".

I love these boots. They are more comfortable than I found the engineer style to be. They are certainly easier to get my foot into. They look great with pants or skirts. Best of all they are very well made and will likely last years.

I'm so sad I have to return these boots! I have a very high arch, but even so, these boots run at least a half if not a full size too small. I was able to get my feet into the boots but they were rubbing very hard on my heels and I was barefoot. I can't imagine trying them on with socks, so back they go and I may even have to go to a local shoe store to determine my exact size in Frye boots before I reorder from Zappos. I really like the dark brown leather and it's so soft and supple, but now I'm reconsidering that maybe the black would fit in better with my wardrobe. Decisions, decisions!

Love these boots! Glad I did not order a size up. I usually were a 8.5 and the 8.5 fit perfectly, I have skinny feet and these would have been way to big in a 9. They are kind of big in the heel but if you wear socks, that will remedy the problem.

The boot - for the most part - met my expectation: rugged, trendy and yet feminine. It is well made - with nice leather and a good sole. However, I found the boot to be big in the calf, so it hung a bit loose around the calf and ankle. I took it into the shoe cobbler and had extra holes on the buckle added to tighten the ankle area. I ordered a size 8. I am typically a true size 8 and thought they ran large. They are comfortable and look great with skirts or jeans tucked into them.

I'm an 8.5 with a low instep and narrow foot, so I ordered the Brown in 8 and the Taupe in 8.5 (my preferred color but they don't have the 8 in stock). The Taupe looks like a more expensive boot (like Fiorentini+Baker), while the brown has some interesting reddish accents that I'm not fond of. As for sizing, the 8.5 almost flew off my foot when I took a step. Meanwhile the 8 felt more secure, but a bit narrow - something that I think can easily be remedied with some stretching at a shoe repair shop. I ended up returning both and ordering the Black, which was the only other color in my size.

These boots were a little roomier for me, and the heel kept pulling out. It was also painful for the first few days of wearing! I have flat feet though, so even though it fit at first, when you walk on them for a long time, they kept slipping off. It's a good thing that this stopped happening after a few days, although I needed to add orthotics to tighten the fit. The color is almost black, so that makes it versatile with different kinds of jeans. It is sturdy, and is a totally different style for me, also looks good when I slip my jeans inside it, so I guess it's worth all the hassle.

Alright. I was so so so excited for these! Though I expected way too much because of the price. It fits pretty true to size. Though, I have very high arches and these were the first pull on boots I didn't have to get stretched prior to me being able to pull them on. So maybe to people with flat feet or normal arches these might be a bit too loose in that area. Also the heel slips a bit too much. It's not really a size issue, the heel is shaped too flat and wide; most boots heels are cupped a little to accommodate the heel. The boots fit perfectly, but the heel still slips! Annoying and painful. Maybe if I wear some socks it will tighten it up back there. The insole is two parts. When I pull my foot out one of the halves peel back. The glue seems to not be holding well. I expected something like this to be taken care of in a boot at this price. The black is not the black in the photo, but rather faded. I hope putting leather conditioner on it will darken that up. To those with skinny legs, the opening is rather wide. I always thought my calves were rather muscular, but they were still swimming in these boots!

I definitely do not have skinny calves and was worried these boots would be too tight, but the fit is just right. I actually had to tighten the shaft buckle a little bit. I ordered these in black and the pair I received are more gray than I thought they would be, and as one reviewer mentioned, they\'re more two-toned than the photos suggest. But I don\'t mind since these boots are more casual than dressy and it gives them a more weathered look. I do find that the heel slips and that can be annoying since my socks get pulled down, but after an hour or so of walking in them they seem to mold to my feet and don\'t slip as much. I might get some heel inserts to fix this though.

I love these boots but I could not pull them up. I took them to the local shoe repair shop to have them stretched, but I still could not step into them. I ordered an 8 and a half which is what I always order in the Harness boot. I am disappointed because I love them.

I love the look of these boots and were excited for them to arrive. I ordered my normal size 8 that I wear in other boots but these seem to be about one size too small. I couldnt even fit the bridge of my foot into this boot. This boot is not returnable (which I knew when I ordered) but Im still so disappointed that the size was so far off. I would definitely size up!

The last two pairs of boots I have purchased from Frye have both been AWFUL!!!! They dont fit the same way they used to . The heel is way too narrow and cuts into your foot. And this company WILL NOT ACCEPT A RETURN OR EXCHANGE ON SALE ITEMS EVEN IF THEY ARE HORRIBLY MADE. I am willing to exchange them for something else- but they will not work with me. These are NOT THE FRYE BOOTS I HAVE BOUGHT IN THE PAST. Dont buy anything on sale unless you are 100% sure they work for you!

I had an old pair of these I got second hand for about $50 which I wore down and decided to buy myself a new pair because I loved them so much. The quality is so terrible and dissapointing and the way the leather wears is a massive step down from my previous pair. There is no fair comparison as the quality is completely gone.

The leather is floppy on this of boot so it is not as pictured. They look more like pirate boots. Not just that, but the sizing chart is not accurate and my normal size did not fit. When I tried to exchange for a different size it return I was told I couldnt do anything about it. Frye does not stand by their products, which is why they dont find a solution when there is a problem with their products.

Best boots ever!! I've had them now 6. 5 years now. I wear them riding,at work etc. If you walk thru snow, a puddle etc. it doesn't affect the leather. I own an Automotive Transmission shop and they're so comfortable that my feet NEVER hurt. Buying another pair right now.

I recently ordered a pair of the Veronica short Frye boots. The first pair I ordered were a little big so I exchanged for a half size smaller. I was a little disappointed that I had to pay $12 for shipping to do a return. The new pair is very hard to get on. I can only wear the boots for short spans because theyre causing blisters on my heels. Im feeling this is just the process. I have to go through to break the boots in. I have waited two years to invest in these boots and Im very excited with the look and quality of the boot. So I would say overall, I do love them.
