New Balance WW901 - A comfortable leather walking shoe that doesn't look like an athletic shoe, although it won't win any beauty contests. It is similar to SAS shoes. Looks fine with casual slacks. I have a narrow foot and the narrow width in this shoe fits my heels well and it has a comfortable toe box. This shoe has an SL-2 last. Buy a 1/2 size larger if you wear thick socks.

I was looking for a comfortable wide shoe in a brown/tan tone that was a quasi-athletic shoe masquerading as a casual shoe which I could wear to work. I selected the tan/grey color that I would describe as "putty." The shoe itself has a very roomy toe box; in fact, it seems almost a little too big. I had to lace up the shoes very tightly so that they don't feel too wide. I would suggest ordering a 1/2 size smaller if you are ordering the Wide width. The shoe itself is comfortable enough. I have worn it to work on casual days and also to concerts when I knew I would be on my feet a lot. As far as styling goes, it's a pretty homely shoe, so don't buy it for the looks!

Okay shoe... not as therapeutic as I'd hoped - This would probably be a great comfort shoe for someone who doesn't have an existing problem like mine - plantar fasciitis. I bought these to have some black comfort shoes for work. My orthotics did fit in them, but the shoes are not "cushy" enough to provide the comfort and support I need. Sadly, I have to return them.

Very Wide - I was having pain in my little toe due to narrow shoes, so I purchased this shoe which comes in very wide widths. I find the shoe has very little arch support and the heel cup is also very wide.

New Balance - I like the width of these shoes, but after 8 hours, I have to take them off because my feet hurt. I ordered 10, but I think 10 1/2 would have been better. They are not as comfortable as sneakers.

I'm a wide and the fit seems true to size but my heel slips a little and the shoe is too chunky looking for me. It seems well made, though, and probably comfortable for walking.

Not overly impressed - After reading all the reviews I was very excited to receive this shoe, but I have to tell you I'm not overly impressed. The look is ok, kind of bulky in a cool way, but that's fine. For a shoe this price, I'd expect extreme comfort and I'm just not finding it. I already wore them a few times to work so can't exchange them, but I'm truly thinking of writing New Balance. As to the sole and insides, I feel no cushioning at all and it's a very stiff shoe. There is a lot of toe room though. I just expected a lot more and wouldn't have spent $94 for them, after having worn them. Also, I tend to walk on the outsides on my feet slightly and after two wearings, I can look at the back of these heels and they have already sagged. I thought NB has built-in technology to prevent that.

Big disappointment - I had high hopes for this shoe. Not only does it run short at the big toe, it has next-to-no arch support and doesn't have quality worth its price. It looks cheap. Back to the search...and thank God for Zappos' return policy.

Not like other SL2 New Balance Shoes - I liked these shoes very much, but they will never fit me correctly. I am a long-time wearer of SL2 New Balance shoes, but these are way too wide in the heel for me. I tried to make them fit with heel grips, but they still slip.

Clunky and uncomfortable - Was not happy with the fit. The show looked big and clunky. The tongue area is very wide and the laces make it look messy and ugly. There was not enough arch support for me.

These shoes might look better but didn't feel better! I love New Balance and liked this new look but my feet didn't like them. I work in retail and work all day walking and this shoe made my feet swell. They are not comfortable at all! Too narrow!

Built like a box - These shoes are definitely NOT made for someone with a long narrow foot, even if they come in 11 2A. My foot just flopped around and they made my foot pain even worse. They might work for someone with a very square-shaped foot.

Better options might be New Balance, Asics or Saucony.

No support - I usually love New Balance, but this shoe has no arch support and just feels flat. I tried putting an insole into it, but as it also tends to slip off my heel, that didn't work. Very good toe area, which makes it look very boxy.

Not Comfortable, Laces Come Loose - I have to say that I am very disappointed in these shoes. They are supposed to be walking shoes but they're not overly comfortable. There is very little padding in them and no real arch support. I would certainly not want to walk a long distance in them. In addition, the shoe laces don't stay tied. I can't believe that New Balance can't come up with a good shoe lace after all the years they have been making shoes. They even come loose when I double knot them. The worst part is that the tongue on the left shoe stabs into the top of my foot. I would have thought that a walking shoe would have padding on the top of the tongues and around the heels. Although Zappos service was impeccable, I would not recommend these shoes to anyone. Plus they look like a pair of work boots.

Horrible! I have to say these are the worse pair of shoes I have ever tried on. They are stiff and don't give at all. They fit OK, but they are so stiff it's like wearing wooden shoes! They are pretty ugly, too, and I'm not that fussy. I'm sorry I was too lazy to return them. They'll probably go to Goodwill.

Disappointed - I ordered this shoe because I read that it was specifically designed to be look feminine and tone down the look of a larger size shoe. I wear a 12AA. This is without a doubt the ugliest, clumsiest, bulkiest looking shoe I have ever seen. Can't rate the comfort because I returned it solely due to looks.
