Unique and comfortable - I needed a shoe for work that was casual/dressy, yet I spend a lot of time on my feet climbing up and down step ladders. I have high arches and plantar fasciitis. This shoe is very comfortable and stylish. No break in period needed. My first pair of Naots, I will be trying more. Zappos was great as usual.

Absolutely perfect - I was looking for something dressier than Keens but still comfortable. This shoe completely fit the bill. I have walked 2-3 miles at a time in these without the first problem (and I'm very picky about comfort in shoes). The shoe is actually a nice, rich black, which the photo doesn't really show. Highly recommend and will definitely buy this brand again.

Lots of comments! I get a lot of comments on the unusual color of the metal leather and black suede. It goes with everything from black to brown to tan to green. I wear a 5 - 5 1/2, and the 35 is a perfect fit, though a 35 is often compared to a size 4. Buy it one size down from what you usually wear as it is generous.

Heaven for the world's worst feet - These shoes are amazing. So amazing I also bought the green for a little more funk. I have rheumatoid arthritis so terrible feet + one ankle fused with 6 screws, so no arch and can't wear heels. It took me about one hour to get used to what felt like a golf ball on my non-existent arch (that would be support I was feeling!) I wasn't crazy about the velcro since I think velcro = old lady. However, it is very understated velcro! Also, the leather is buttery soft so accommodates my corns and bunions very well. (I told you I had the world's worst feet). Cute, well-made + a bit of funk, but most of all comfort. I am a happy gal.

Really Comfortable - I have really been enjoying my new Naot Matais. I have two other pairs of Naots and they are my favs. They naturally feel wider than a normal B medium width shoe. I like the style and color. I have the black shoes. I agree that the strap seems narrow and a little too long. Perhaps Naot will reconsider this part of the design. Although they are funky, I wear them with skirts and pants alike.

Thank you Lesley for telling me about Zappos! Lesley Riley deserves all the credit for me having this fabulous shoe. She spoke about Zappos on her blog and showed a picture of her feet in these shoes, saying how comfortable, etc. I bought them, and have had people asking me where I got them; they are so funky and "arty" looking. I can wear them all day, they don't bind at the toe, and they are well cushioned. I wear them with black toe socks and they feel great.

I tried my usual size and one size smaller according to other reviews posted about this shoe. I kept my usual size - smaller was too tight and I like to wear a crew sock with this shoe. Got them in orange which have been a hit with anybody noticing them. Am going to order them in green and brown as well. Took them on vacation to Rome and walked in them all day long never even thinking about my feet. Wore them with and without my orthotics - great comfort either way.

Matai - I thought this would be a cool-looking shoe...however, it's pretty unattractive in person and on the foot...like you're wearing boats (I wear an 8.5) and the section by the big toe joint is cut so that it pinches there and would hurt to walk in. Check out the top view and you'll see what I mean! I got the copper and the leather is super metallic...the photo does not really show this.

Love this shoe - I love this shoe. It looks and feels a little like a bedroom shoe but it is so comfortable. I would like it better if it were plain and did not have the decorative swirl on top but all in all I would buy it again just for the comfort. You could use it as a walking shoe.

This shoe was comfortable from the first moment I put it on. The note on the website saying that the shoe runs big was most helpful. I ordered a size smaller than my other NAOTs, and it fit perfectly. The arch support seems a little less than other NAOTs but is still adequate.

Very supportive and attractive - I have a hard time finding shoes that accommodate my bunions and have enough padding and support in the footbed without being too wide in the heel. These are just about perfectly comfortable with the added bonus of having an interesting visual appeal-not too cloddy. Love 'em!

Too small - I thought I was going to love these but when after trying them on I found them to be too small. They do not run a size larger, the run a half/whole size smaller. I ordered 42 because I wear an 11 but I must return them. The support was great and I really liked the shoe.

Really, really satisfied - I just purchased my second pair of the Naot Matai, in a different color. These shoes are comfortable and practical AND attractive, not a common combination in women's shoes. I can wear them casually, with jeans, or with a dress to dinner and a concert. They are comfortable enough to walk a reasonable distance in, on San Francisco's steep hills. I plan to use them for European travel, as well as locally. I like that Zappos carries Naot shoes in size 35, as I have small feet and cannot wear the more usual 36.

I am really enjoying my new shoes; however, I took your advice and ordered a size smaller than I normally wear. They were too short, so I returned them and got my regular size. They fit perfectly with socks.

Naots are the best – I work in retail and I’m on my feet all day. I tried all the supposedly “comfortable brands,” but Naot out did them all. The Matai style is going to be my fall shoe. I have bought it in almost all the colors. They work with pants and skirts. They are a wider shoe which I need, and you can adjust the strap. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who is on there feet all day and needs a wide shoe.

Great walking shoe - I ordered at least 15 pairs of shoes in my quest for the perfect walking shoe to wear in Europe. Comfort is king, but style is also a big consideration. Most walking shoes are too chunky and stiff for my taste. I was seeking support and comfort. These seem to strike a balance that the others lacked. They have a lower profile which I prefer and the comfort I desire. I made my decision without consideration of price. These are more expensive than the other shoes I tried, but their comfort and style truly won me over.

Great style for a comfort shoe - These felt like slippers with fabulous arch support when I put them on. The only issue I have with my very wide foot is that on one foot, there is a slight catch at the top opening of the shoe where it is a little tight. I am assuming as soft as the leather is, that this will stretch and fit well. I am really pleased with these; they look great with jeans and can definitely be worn to work on a more casual day.

Lovely Naot Matais - Ordered an 8 first and it was definitely too snug. I am usually a pretty standard size 8. The size 9 is perfect. The shoe is well made and has wonderful support for my high arches. The second wearing I wore them to hike a hot uphill 3/4 miles and back to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl hauling a cooler and a picnic basket and my feet were in heaven! I've had several pairs of Naot shoes and they are always favorites.

Naot Matai - Very cool styling, have gotten lots of compliments. Extremely comfortable. The only drawback is the narrow strap across the top. I don't like that it has Velcro and it can be uncomfortable. Order a size down, they warn you about that when ordering.

Excellent, Comfortable Shoe - I'm always searching for a stylish, comfortable shoe, which can handle my orthotics without pushing my foot out of the shoe. These shoes are absolutely great! So great I bought two pairs for work. I wear an 11 narrow and orthotics for plantar fasciitis. Sometimes shoes for orthotics look matronly, but not these. I had no break-in period, no blisters, and no heel pain--just all day comfort (13-hours a day for work). Although some people feel these shoes feel larger than marked, I do not; probably because I wear orthotics and thin socks.

Wonderful shoe - This my second pair of Naot shoes and this one is even better than the first sandal I purchased. Although the original sandal ran a little narrow, this shoe is a very good fit for a size 11. It feels good even without socks and has good arch support. The orange was a gamble, but it looks good with at least one skirt I tried on and it's fun with jeans. Love the detail on the toe!

Naot Matai - Great - terrific arch support, lots of cushioning beneath ball of foot & they look cute with skirts. As soon as I put them on, I wanted to wear them like slippers! Size 38 = size 8 W shoe.

First time Naot purchaser - Just what the doctor ordered! After ankle dislocation and subsequent steel plate, my left foot was left with many problems. These shoes enabled me to walk "correctly" for the first time in 4 months!

Instant comfort - I ordered these shoes after they were recommended on a travel site for comfortable walking. I love them! They were instantly comfortable. I wore them at least six hours the first day. The dusty green is perfect with a lot of my fall clothes. They're packed in my suitcase ready for Italian cobblestones next week! I ordered down one size based on feedback on Zappos and they fit just right.
