I don't like wearing shorts but have to in the humid hot south. I love that these fit my thighs and ample rear but don't have the gap in the waist as every pair of pants I try does! It also has buttons to bring the waist in on the waist in the back if you lose a bit of weight. Great shorts and so excited to wear these this summer. Flattering for smaller waists and bigger butts!

Wow, I love these shorts. Going on safari in South Africa and needed some practical, outdoor wear -- that wasn't shapeless. They fit perfectly (I'm 5'6, 138 and the 8 is perfect!) and I love the fabric. I can tell they'll pack and wear well.

I love these shorts. I have a pair in the beige color I got a few years ago. I had never seen the black before. I ordered them a few days before I was leaving for a south American trip. I knew they would be here on time and i knew they would look great. They are very slimming. I ordered the 8 this time. The size chart is accurate. My older ones are 10, but an 8 is bigger these days.

These are really nice shorts, but it's difficult to believe they have a 5 inch inseam. They seem much shorter.

I love the fabric, the zipper pocket, and the fact the hand pockets are separate from the zipper one. I wish the other pockets (front and back) had zips instead of the more bulky velcro. I usually wear a 12/14 and the 14 just fits: I would need a 16 if I wanted to carry anything bulky in the pockets. But, I love that the waist fits with minimal gap.

I really liked these! They are lightweight and really comfortable and will be great for sightseeing. I did have to size down one from my normal size.

I usually can't find clothes to fit me right away but I love these shorts. I ordered in both colors. They wear well, look great, and are the perfect length (not too short and not too long).

This is my second pair of these shorts in a different color. I use them as my walking shorts in South Carolina (hot and muggy). They are cool, roomy, have lots of pockets, and the material sheds dirt.

I've had 3 pairs, of size 8, Backcountry Shorts for at least 10 years. They FINALLY wore out. I wanted more! UNFORTUNATELY, the sizing has completely changed. I've been the same size 5'7" and 118-125 pounds since high school...over 40 years ago. As I said, my worn out shorts were a size 8, but based on the size chart, I ordered a size 4...TOO BIG!!!! I can't order a smaller size because there has also been a slight style redesign, lowering the front waist band. I'm long waisted and the redesign not only makes the front rise too short, but also makes the shorts uncomfortable in the crotch. Alas, another great style ruined by style redesign and vanity (re)sizing by the manufacturers.

I Looooove these shorts. I'm not a hiker, but I love the way they fit and all of the pockets, some with velcro, some with zippers. The fabric is cool and doesn't wrinkle. I wear a 12 at the beginning of the summer and a 10 at the end, so with the button tabs at the waist they fit all the time. I'm 5'4" and weigh 135 and bought a 12. If you like snug you might start with 10. I do wish they were a little longer because I don't have the legs of the model, but hey, I'm 68 and social distancing so comfort (and pockets) rule. I walk a lot and my husband (and my schnoodle) think I look hot in them. I bought khaki and grey and love both. Buy these shorts. You won't be sorry.

I haven't worn shorts this short in a while (I'm 67) but they are quite flattering and I've gotten compliments on them, so I guess they look good on me. The fabric is cool and breathes so they are very comfortable, too.

I have only tried on these shorts and have not worn them for an extended time at this point, but so far, I really like them and this is why: the fit is true, the pockets are deep, and the fabric is stretchy, but maintains its shape. All good stuff!

I bought these shorts for a Disney trip figuring I would wear them in the summer too. They are great quality. Like the material. Nice fit too.

As always the order arrived promptly. They were exactly as described, unfortunately, I have very thin legs and am petite so even a 4 was quite large on me. I suspect I needed a 4P or smaller.

These are the absolute best shorts that I have ever owned! I bought a pair in each color. They fit well, have cleverly designed pockets hold a lot. The fabric is tough but soft. These are wonderful!

This is my second pair of these Royal Robbins shorts, and they are terrific. Size is true and the pockets are invaluable great without the (to me) ugly look of cargo shorts/pants.

These shorts are great and I highly recommend them. The fabric is very lightweight and sheds water. Comfortable waistband. There are several pockets, including very deep ones that could hold something large like a pair of sunglasses, phone, map, etc. For utility-type shorts, the style is nice too. Not only are they great for long walking trips such as when you're on a trip, they're also great for just being at home. When you don't want to carry a purse around, these will likely hold all of your essentials.

These shorts are great. I bought my first pair while on vacation. I eventually bought 2 more in different colors. They are great for travel, for running around and they always look nice.

Very nice, cool and comfortable for Grand Canyon hiking. Has belt loops, which is important to me--I'm not comfortable in shorts or jeans unless the waist feels secure. I'm returning the black but will keep the beige-colored ones.

I love Royal Robbins. They are extremely comfortable, true to size and wash well. Plan to take them to Spain. I wish they had more colors.

I was very happy with these shorts. They almost have a waterproof feeling material. My sister and I each got a pair and love them. The waist does not stretch, they run a bit small I thought compared to other shorts in the same size.

These shorts are perfect. Relaxed waist, but a nice, trim fit. Nylon dries quickly after rain and sports. I live in them all summer!
