Love these shorts...lightweight and comfortable, quick drying and lots of pockets! Great fit. Perfect for hiking or just wearing around town. Loved Zappos exchange program too. Easy to switch sizes without additional fees.

I loved these shorts - ordered them right before I left for Hawaii and as always, Zappos took care of me. Felt true to size. Ordered size 4 and I wear a 4 sometimes a small 6. Fit perfectly!

Fabulous and flattering! These are terrific shorts. I bought a pair to wear to my gym in the morning. (I find that shorts with a gathered waist are quite unflattering on me.) These were amazing: I bought 4 more pairs! Although I am only using them to go to my *inside* gym, I can see how great they would be for hiking: nice deep pockets, some with zippers; some with velcro closures, etc. Plus, the length is great: not too long or too short. I’m so glad I found these! I usually wear size 4 in dress clothes -- but for these, I ordered a 6 and it was perfect! I could not be more pleased.

Great utility shorts - I use them everywhere. I love all the pockets, I could get away with no handbag if I wanted to. The fabric is cool and comfortable. The color is neutral and goes with everything. I use it to go grocery shopping, walk around town, doing chores at home and of course for the great outdoors. Pair it with a nicer shirt and I've even dined in them. Great for travel. I appreciated the slightly higher waist; everything nowadays seems low cut.

Flattering shorts - These shorts have a great fit and are very flattering. I bought the black and they can be dressed up or down. They also run true to size.

Comfort in a basic style - This is a comfortable, basic pair of shorts that will see you through any situation. Sizing runs a little large, so order a size down from what you normally wear.

Perfect Fit - I love the fit of these. I ordered a size 10 and that is what I wear. They are not so low your rear end hangs out but low enough to be modern looking. I am 50 so this is important to me. No low riders here. I wish Zappos carried more colors in this style. I bought both this color and the black.

These shorts are really cute and I do think they will be comfortable as soon as I find the right size. I think they run small. I usually wear a 4 and I am ordering a 6. Reordering today.

I like to have room in hiking shorts and prefer them a little roomy so always order a size up. Although I am petite and small the Size 4 were not too big. The waist is a low waist in the front which makes these different from shorts that come with a belt. These are standard Royal Robbins quality products. I have been wearing other clothing for 14 years and it has always been durable, comfortable and easy to care for. I ordered both the khaki and the olive and great colors.

They were nice, but not fantastic. I could have gone up a size. They wrinkled really bad after a day's wear too.

Some of the best shorts I\'ve ever owned. True to size. Flattering without overexposing your legs. Comfortable on long hikes and dry quickly when they get wet.

Wide fit with a large leg. It's almost looks like a skirt. Much longer than pictured and I am not a short person, 5'5" at size 4. I loved the style. There are great pockets and good quality. It might be better for other body types.

Love the shorts. They fit well and are great for hiking. Very comfortable and plenty of pockets. The delivery time was very short.

Very comfortable. Not sure about the velcro, probably wouldn't use the pockets because it would just look bulky.

Inseam much shorter than expected. The cut and material are excellent. Wish they were longer.

Waist runs big. Even with the extra button for tightening there is an uncomfortable gap.

After looking at the picture of how these shorts fit, I was surprised at how high-waisted they are! They definitely hit above the bellybutton, which is not what I was looking for! PI pobably should have assumed this knowing they were from Royal Robbins, but the picture showed me otherwise. They seemed comfortable though.

I have two pairs of these shorts that I have been wearing all summer long (mostly for working in the yard and hiking) for 22 YEARS! They are just now starting to fall apart and I want to buy more, but they have been discontinued! Please bring them back!!!!

I love these Royal Robbins shorts BUT NOT IN BLACK. All of the other colors fit GREAT but for some reason the black runs 1-2" smaller in the waste than any other color. I ordered a second pair in hopes that it was just that one particular pair of black shorts, but they both run the same. All other colors are 5 stars!!!!!

I LOVE these shorts! I have been wearing them for years - probably have 5-6 pair at this point. I had been hoping for some time that Royal Robbins would make them in a navy blue. This Phoenix blue is not quite that, but reasonably close to a "bright" navy. They are cool and comfortable in the Texas heat, the pockets hold a surprising amount and they have a loose comfortable fit while still appearing fairly trim on the body. The sizing does seem to vary from year-to-year. I ordered my usual size 4 and they are looser than some of my other pairs from earlier years. On my 5'2" 118-lb. frame, I have room to insert my fist in the waistband. I like that fit for active wear.

I love these shorts! I am 5' 3" with a little waist and bigger hips, and the size 8 fit perfectly. Love the button-adjustable (a nice looking one) waistline. Great for anything...hiking, running around town - you can even wear them with a pretty top. I bought 5 pair. Did I say I love these shorts?

Great shorts. Fit true to size and good for my curvy figure. I have hips and a larger rear and can never find a pair of 5" inseam shorts that isn't TOO short in the rear and these fit the bill nicely. There are several pockets on the front and back and the front pockets are deep-as in, nearly to the hem! Bought these to wear at DisneyWorld and ended up taking them the following week on a primitive camping trip and wore them all three days. They dry quickly and pack easy/light. Most comfortable pair of shorts. I wash in cold water and hang them to dry to make sure they don't shrink or dry on extra low/delicate. For those who claim they are too short, you need to read the dimensions given. They are no shorter than a 5" inseam should be...which is 5".

These are fantastic shorts. The adjustability of the waist is so nice as it allows for a good fit for a smaller waist with fuller hips. The material dries quickly. The pockets are numerous with some deep pockets and a zipper pocket so you can have a lot secure in these shorts but they still have a nice look to them (not bulky.) The taupe is my favorite, but I also have the khaki.

I love these shorts. I didn't expect them to be such a great fit. As described below, they adjust well to fit waist and have a full enough hip for a curvy figure. I am 5'3 with small waist and wider hips - usually the waist on most bottoms gaps but here it did not.

These are nice shorts. Nice wide legs. Material is tough, but cool. I would have liked them one inch longer, but they're okay. The waist is a little snug, but that's my fault. Need to lose a little. They fit nice. I am 151 lbs., 5'8" and wear size 8. Oh yeah, I'm 55, which is why I'd like them an inch longer!
