Great boots! I purchased these for my son--they were exactly what we expected--he loves Docs. They fit perfectly & it was the color he wanted--they are more of a maroon than a violet. If you haven't ordered from Zappos before-they are the best-fast shipping -great customer service!

Fan of Dr. Marten's for years! I bought these boots for my sister, she had to try them on to make sure they fit. Luckily they do, so she would get to love hers the way I love mine! It takes about 6-10 wears before they're really comfy, but it's sooo worth it! Mine have been to war & back & they have lots of time left!

Good winter Boot - To me this boot has a classic look that doesn't seem to go out of style! They’re not too heavy and I can wear them all day and still feel comfortable so I recommend them, I personally like the light brown color they look better with jeans!

No arch support - Though these were the most beautiful violet boots I've ever seen, the arch support is terrible. It's like walking on tile. The top of the boot that fits around the calf is not forgiving, thus making for a bit of discomfort while doing my lawn work and mowing. It is my hope that with age they will fit better. Nice color could be a bit more purple than red but hey, the boot is a nice style and a unique color still the same.

Comfy from the start - Comfortable utility boot. Room for socks! Room to move toes, stays put, not stiff, easy to walk in and lovely to look at.

Sore feet, be gone! These boots are amazing for people with messed-up feet like me. I can wear them all day and not have sore arches or scrunched up toes. Plus, they come in PURPLE! I'm thrilled.

Best boots ever - This is my second pair of Dr. Marten's. First pair was "inherited" from my son when he out grew them in 7th grade. That pair lasted for 9 years! I ordered, got the boots in 2-days, wore them to a four-day music festival that I volunteer at every year, and they were great! They look good with jeans and if I was younger, I would probably wear them with skirts, too. Great boots!

This is a great pair of boots - so comfy.

FOOT AND HIP PROBLEMS RESOLVED - Despite my medical condition, I will never be totally pain free. I own about 8 pairs of DOC Martens boots- Most are in this size and style. BOOTS WILL stretch if needed- But are well worth the price. In the past I walked with one foot turning inward which caused more hip pain, Wearing these boots stops my foot from turning inward and I find when I do wear them, I have less pain. I plan on buying more.

I dig 'em - I absolutely love my Doc Martens Original 1460's. They are the perfect shoe for work and play.

Still kicking!! Bought this boot 8 years ago when I started working as a gardener. Loved them so much, I'm still wearing the same pair! Alas, all great things must come to an end and I think my boots are no exception to the rule! So here's hoping the new relationship is as wonderful as the old, I'm breaking down to buy a new pair.

Great work boot for people on their feet - I am in the restaurant business and am on my feet for 8 hours a day and this is the boot for restaurant workers. I have never slipped when walking through a wet, greasy kitchen and my feet are not tired or achy after a day of waiting tables. I have worn Doc's for 15 years and this is only my 3rd pair. They last forever and the more broken in you get them, they better they are.

Commit to a few weeks of breaking these in. I had some very sore spots on toes and ankles at the end of some evenings. But the boots get softer every time, and the quality of materials + construction is very good. These are a great investment. These can be worn with anything, and will last for years.

Love The Look - Typical Doc. boot, purchased for motorcycle. Still pretty stiff after a few weeks of wearing, laces never stay tied unless knotted. I wear a 7 1/2 for comfort and bought 7 Docs. Fit perfect, but it is a very cool looking boot and it will break in, bought the red and love it.

Very nice boot - I ordered 3 pairs of Doc Martens boots and ended up keeping this one as it fit the best. It wasn't as stiff as the others, and felt comfortable right away. The only thing I didn't like about it was the dry rough texture of the underside of the tongue, which felt cheap, but otherwise they appear to be of good quality.

They Run Narrow - I am an avid Doc wearer, but these shoes run quite narrow. I do have wide feet, but that was never an issue with Docs. Since they are leather, I'm sure they will give after a while. Not so much purple, more of a maroon, but being Docs, they look good anyway.

Women's size too narrow - I loved the look and mottled maroonish-violet color of these boots--but I had to return them because they were way too narrow! I ordered UK size 5, which is listed as US women's size 7. The next size up would have been too big for me, so I had to give up on these. I figured out that the "W" after the style # (1460) in Dr. Marten's must mean "women's" and they are sized ridiculously narrow. I've worn Dr. M's UK size 5 boots in the past and they fit very comfortably, so my only conclusion is to avoid the "W" styles in Dr. M's boots and shoes from now on.

I have always wanted a pair of white Dr. Martens. Finally, I decided the time was nigh to order them. I was waiting for this package like a kid on Christmas eve (eating cookies). However, this particular shoe seemed like a cheap knock-off version. The material most resembled a plastic covered piece of cardboard. This created such an awkward rigidity, and cheap appearance when on, that I had no choice but to send them back. Not to mention, the insane level of discomfort in these...very disappointed!

I love the look of these boots. Returned the 10 eyelet 1490's and got the 8 eyelet 1460W's -- found out W is for Women. I think that helped the fit. They are a much better fit for my feet. I wear a US 8 1/2 usually. So I tried the 1460W's in a UK 7 (US Women's 9), but my heels were were slipping around in them and they just felt huge. So went down to a UK 6. They are snug, but I'm breaking them in with huge socks and already I can see how much better they feel. Once on, I do not want to take them off. They are fabulous. Also, I can't say enough about Zappos' service. Both the customer service reps I spoke to were EXCELLENT! They were friendly, informative, helpful, funny -- and got the job done. Kudos to Zappos. I may never buy shoes in a store again.

This is a classic style for a reason. Live your 90s dreams in this rad boot from Dr Marten’s. They are so comfy — you can wear them all day (or all night) with no problem. Highly recommend!

You can't go wrong with a classic Doc Marten boot! They take a little bit of time to break in, but after that, they will last forever! These are perfect and just what I was looking for to replace a pair I had from college (many moons ago).

I purchased them for my 14 year old daughter. She loves them and will likely want a few more pairs in the near future.
