I ordered five pairs of Keen sandals for my boyfriend to try before our trip to Baja. He is not a sandal guy but needed something to put on after the mx boots came off at the end of the day. These worked perfectly! And you do not even look dumb if you wear them with socks. Great job, Keen, on making sandals that even a sandal hater can love!

My third pair and the best so far. Well thought out, high quality and functional construction, superior comfort and entire foot support, a great value for such a high quality performance sandal/shoe. I'm a heavy guy who is fit & active and put on tons of miles and continue to be impressed with the durability of the entire shoe right down to the one pull lacing system.

I had to return my size 13 for a 12. Zappos provided great fast service!I just got them today and I cannot wait for where these bad boys to take me. I loved them right out of the box.

This is my second pair of Keens. I am quite enamored with this brand. The Arroyo IIs have become my urban hiking shoe. The vents make them comfortable in warm weather. As with my other Keens, they are kind of clunky.

These are the first pair of Keens I ever purchased, and I have been amazed at how well they perform on the trail. The arch support is great, and they are supremely comfortable. I'm now a big fan of the brand.

I just want to make sure you know that the dark parts you see in the photograph are holes, not waterproof mesh. These are sandals, which I didn't want. I should have been more careful. They could be terrific if what you want is sandals, but I really don't know.

This is my second pair of Keen's, both are the same style just different color. I really like the comfort, support and comfort. I wear them most of the summer.

Like everything about this shoe. Hiked over wet muddy rocks (another day in paradise, Kauai, HI) straight up, then down. Good grip and comfy. Should have worn socks, got a few blisters (my fault). I would buy these again in a heartbeat when these are worn out.

I bought this shoe for my husband and as soon as he gets home from work he puts them on! Love Keens and Love Zappos!

At first glance these look a lot like the Keen Newport which my husband wore for a long time. But these have a much better arch and the closed heel really makes a big difference. No pebbles flipping into the back of the shoe and it keeps the heel steadier in the heel cup. The look and feel great from day one, as I expect with Keens. And they seem to a bit more lightweight than the Newport which is always appreciated when you wear a size 16!

These were bought for my husband who works in Africa. He said they are the most comfortable shoes he has had for a long time or maybe ever. Thanks Zappos!

Keen Arroyo II - Durable plus offers good foot protection while hiking. Comfortable. Excellent quality. Convenient lacing.

I've always found Keens to be comfortable, well made shoes with great support. The Arroyo II is no exception and with its abundant ventilation, it's ideal for summer hiking. The lacing system is easy and foolproof and the shoes are light but don't feel flimsy. The only thing I question about them is that they are labeled as "waterproof," which obviously they are not since they are full of large holes. I think what Keen meant is that they are suitable for water sports, but regardless - your feet will get wet if you wear them in the rain or cross a stream. They come about 1/2 large, so order down, otherwise this is a great shoe with the same sole and support as the Targhee II, just a whole bunch cooler.

Absolutely the best sandal I've ever bought!! I was having problems with my left heel hurting and the Arroyo II with the excellent heel support has made this problem disappear. I think I will probably wear this sandal year round, it'll work fine with anklets if the weather gets too cold. It does fit true to size, I was told to order a half size larger which turned out to be a mistake. Return and exchange with Zappos was super easy. It took 2-3 days for them to get the return. Once I got the store credit I placed the order at 4:30pm one day and the shoes were on my doorstep the next day at 2:00pm. If only all online ordering sites were this easy and efficient. Way to Go, Zappos!!!!!!

The sandal/boot was just as described. It's sturdy, comfortable, true to size, and almost fashionable. Wish the laces were elastic like the Newport H2 that I love so much. But this shoe is better for mixed backcountry hikes. I have used them in the Catskills and Harriman park with many rocky climbs and wet and muddy trails. I get all the support I need and don't worry about going through puddles and streams as they dry out immediately.

A gift for someone else who will be doing a lot of walking in an African desert. I had a similar Keen sandal when I walked a lot in the Arabian desert. The reinforced toe makes them safer in rocky terrains. Also can wash the desert dirt off of them at night and they dry quickly. I still wear mine from a trip in 2007, are just as sturdy and comfortable as they were then. My review is based on the friend trying them on before going on the trip. He would check the following.

This is a great, versatile shoe for the outdoors. I recently had to wade through a creek before continuing to walk on the trail for another 5 miles. The shoe was comfortable the entire time. The large toe space lets me go down steep slopes without jamming my toes. The tread is aggressive and provides good traction. The tread will wear quickly if you do extensive walking on pavement though (based on experience with two other pairs that I've had).

I bought these for my husband who was not thrilled at the idea of sandal/sneakers. It took us a couple pairs to get the right size (they ran small on him, while the women's ran large for me) but now he loves them. We recently went camping and he was happy to hike, bike, and most importantly-fish (thigh deep in the river) in these shoes which were dry after a couple of hours in the sun. These are a great buy -- have the capacity to last for many years to come.

Customer service from Zappos is outstanding. Shoes were delivered quickly, exactly as ordered. They fit well, easily adjustable for my narrow heel and are excellent for walking on rough surfaces (clambering over lava in Hawaii). Also they dry quickly if they get wet (boat trip in ocean) I could not be more pleased

This is a repeat buy...my husband wants a new pair of these every spring and wears the heck out of them. I hope they never quit making this style because he would never be happy with anything else...he wears an 11.5 and these are true to size.

Excellent for short to medium distance hikes. I live in the tropics and use them for hiking in the jungle mountains. They are light weight and stable. Very comfortable.

I wore these shoes for a four day trip in the mountains. Canoe boundary waters and felt perfect. No blisters or cuts at all. These are the only shoes that my feet never hurt in. Great job, Keen.

I've owned Keen shoes before and liked them. When I received these, I thought they felt loose, but was willing to try them. They are not loose, just fit so well that I don't notice that I'm wearing them. I've hiked for miles and never a problem. These could very well be the best shoes I have ever purchased!

I have had both this model and the Keen Kreek which my dog loves to chew. I like the fixed heel on the Arroyo II and it is a little lighter. When you snug it up it feels secure and makes you feel like you climb up a wall good traction.

Great shoes. This is my 5th pair. Everytime they wear out (they are long lasting), I reorder. I like the covered toe and heel.
