These ran small, short. I neede to size up. But they were beautifully made and the red color was great.

Cute flat and I was looking forward to these fitting, but they didn't work for me. Normally a 7 1/2 or an 8 will fit just fine. First I tried 7 1/2, but it was entirely too tight so I sent it back. The 8 was also too tight, so that also went back. I actually couldn't tell much difference between either size. I didn't bother having additional sizes sent to try on. Too impatient.

As someone with a wide toe box and a narrow heel who's on her feet all day and prone to blisters (and who hates clogs and mary janes!), I have searched high and low for a cute, comfortable ballet flat that really fits. Here it is, finally! Many thanks to Zappos for the quick-and-easy returns. These have plenty of toe room, no cleavage, no heel slippage -- and I don't look like I'm wearing "comfort shoes." I am between a 6.5 C and a 7 B-C: the 7.5 B fits perfectly. They'll require a brief break-in period; they have absolutely no arch support (which thankfully is not an issue for me) and pretty thin soles (I'm going to put in cushioned inserts for all-day wear).

A beautiful soft leather shoe. I usually wear an 8 in a flat...so went up to 8.5. Should have ordered a 9.

I chose my size based on the reviews that said this shoe stretches out a lot, but unfortunately, the shoe size seems to run small to begin with. I wear a 7.5-8, bought a size 8 of this slipper, and even after wearing it for hours and hours, it's much too small. :( Although I protected the sole while trying them, with the suede lining the shoe looks worn quickly, so is not longer returnable. Which is sad, because the shoe itself is a beauty.

I love these shoes! They're so comfortable, I forget I'm wearing them. I ordered a half-size up to an 8.5 and they fit perfectly. The bronze is to die for.

This is my second pair of French Sole flats... I wore the other ones until they were unwearable..my daughter did too... I don't usually spend this kind of money on simple flats but these are cut so well, and you can wear them with jeans or cropped jeans, or a skirt...too cute! The suede ones stretch a lot, so don't worry if they're snug at first... and not much arch support if you need that.

First of all I want to address the size issue. I have 2 pairs of the leopard print shoe. I bought a size 9, my normal being an 8, because when the 8 came it was very tight. Well it grew. I can still wear the 9 but it is floppy. So I bought an 8 1/2 and it is in my closet for when my nines wear out. I have 4 pairs of this shoe, so I have gotten to know what works for me. A half size up fits perfect. My black and brown pair are 8 1/2. All that said, it is a beautiful shoe. I am not a animal print fanatic, but wanted one to accent my outfit. This shoe is perfect. Dress it up or down. It works either way. It is comfortable and the break in time is like an hour. I will most likely buy more in other colors.

I love this ballet flat! I had ordered it first in my usual size without taking the advice of previous buyers and had to return them for a 1/2 size larger. These are the real thing loved by dancers and the go to choice for skinny jeans or leggings. I bought this in the Black Nappa and am now considering purchasing them in red as well. No support to speak of but that's not a problem for me as I don't have much of an arch.

I have 3 pairs of this style of shoe in black, brown, and leopard print. That should tell you how much I LOVE these shoes. I would advise buying a half size up. They are tight when you first put them on but conform to your foot very quickly so you won't spend the whole day suffering. I bought a pair a full size up, but they are a little loose. I can still wear them, but found 1/2 size to be perfect. They look great and I get compliments every time I wear them. I may have to buy a couple more pairs!

I've had two pairs of these ballet flats. They feel a little small when you first put them on, but stretch after a couple of wearings. In some shoes, this is great news, but the construction of these shoes leave a bit to be desired. My first pair lasted a total of 2 weeks before they needed to be trashed. A year later, I wanted an instantly comfy silver flat for a trip. I bought them with the understanding that they would have a short life, but would look great for the week that I needed them too. Within 10 wearings, the footbed lining fell out of each shoe and they were pretty much useless. For the price, I wish they lasted longer.

Haven't worn these out of the house, but when I tried them on last night, I was blown away by how comfortable they are. Looking forward to getting a full day of wear out of them.

I bought these shoes a few months ago with the hope that they would do a couple of things. The first being that they would be a major investment piece and hold up very well, and that they would be my main staple shoe while studying abroad in France. These shoes are adorable, took a couple of weeks to break in and are very comfortable. Unfortunately after 2 months of wear I am not convinced these shoes are worth their heavy price tag and I am uncertain of whether or not they will last until the end of next month without the soul completely separating from the top of the shoes. If you are very easy-going on your flats then these might last a while. If you walk a lot, their lasting power may vary as in my case. The search for the perfect ballet flat continues.

These were amazing at first, but the leather in the footbed slowly peeled out of both of the shoes - it started after a few weeks of wear and after a few month they'd scrunch up under my feet as I walked. They also stretched out - it's expected because they're leather, but they became really baggy around the arch of my foot instead of stretching out toes like other shoes might. These shoes also have no cushioning in the heel, so walking on sidewalks becomes uncomfortable after a few blocks. I expect better quality for the price. I'm so disappointed.

Almost perfect! My favorite ballet shoes now - soft brown suede, run about half size small, roomy toebox and narrow heel for medium size feet. Sloop so far is the only brand with narrow heel that doesn't slip off my feet. I love them. Thank you French Sole. I remedy the thin sole by inserting the 3/4 leather insole. Thank you Zappos for your speedy delivery.

I ordered a pair with my normal size and another pair half size larger than my normal shoe size. The latter (half size larger) one fit perfectly. Initially I had concern my feet would slip out easily like some of my other similar style shoes would. I have worn this pair for weeks and none of such embarrassing moment have occurred. The shoes are soft and comfortable for walking. I didn't have to stretch it out much to make it feel like mine. One minor note it has zero cushion. It takes a little getting used to but a none-issue for me at this point.

These have been my go-to summer shoes for four summers. I have them in 4 colors but mainly wear the silver (pewter) ones. In four years I've gone through 5 or 6 pairs of the silver ones because the color rubs off very easily, leaving you with mottled silver-and-black shoes - my recommendation is to not drive in them, take them off before putting your feet up on anything, and generally try to minimize the friction they encounter. Also, please know that the insides of these shoes are the most lovely white color - until you wear them. Even if you wash your feet immediately before putting them on (as I do) you will soon have disgusting stains on the inside where dust and oils settle underfoot. Gosh, writing this all down makes me feel really foolish for buying so many pairs. But they really do make a wonderful "neutral" (but not boring) shoe for capri pants and rolled up jeans. Comfortable as long as you don't require arch support, and great to drive in as long as you don't mind the silver color rubbing off. The different colors are made from different leathers which each stretch in their own way but generally I find that a half size up from normal is most comfortable.

Love the look. Clean, simple ballet flat without "toe cleavage." The only thing I don't like about the look is the tag on the outside of the heel. The leather is very soft. My normal size felt quite tight, so I will have to order a half size up, though.

This is a really beautiful product; however, the right shoe rubs terribly on my right Achilles tendon. The left one is fine.

This is my 4th pair of these shoes. Wore the last ones out walking all over Europe. Enough said.

I have high arches and normally have a very difficult time wearing flat flats. Having said that, these shoes are amazing. I can wear them all day and my feet never hurt. I honestly don't know how they do it, but bravo! Doesn't hurt that they are absolutely adorable as well. Great with pants, skirts, capris, jeans, on and on. They run 1 to 1 1/2 sizes small but so comfortable when you get the right size.

These shoes are like gloves for your feet! Super cozy and form fitting. The Napa leather is deliciously soft. They run a half size small as other reviewers note. Not too much support but comfortable for short trips and at the office if you don't do a lot of walking.
