French Sole Sloop - These ran 1-1.5 sizes smaller IMO. Loved the color choices available and shoe was very soft and slipper-like. I wonder how durable they'd be for urban use, though. Didn't love the lack of support for my high arches and how big I felt they made my feet look. I am wide in the forefoot, but they could've been cut a bit narrower for a more flattering look and still have been comfortable, I think. Thanks Zappos, for making returns so easy!

My mom has two pairs of this, so I had to get some for my trip overseas. I usually wear an 8 and ordered an 8.5. The left fit perfectly, but the right was just a tinge too small (my feet are slightly different). I returned and got the size 9s and couldn't be happier.

I've owned these shoes about a month now, and can finally wear them all day without them killing my feet. I normally wear a size 8.5, and followed suggestions to order up a size. My foot is not especially wide, but the part across the top, just under my toes, felt so tight and left a red mark and a "divot" every time. I knew, however, if I ordered a 9.5, they would be too long. I still get a red mark, but they don't seem to be cutting into my foot as much the more I wear them. I'm a teacher and wanted comfortable flats to wear all day in school. These are certainly not out of the box comfortable, but they are improving.

I love the style of these shoes they are beautiful, I only wish they would have fit. The width is way off and the size. Heartbroken.

My feet are annoying in that they often range from an 8 to an 8.5, so I ordered both sizes. And both fit. The 8 was a little snug, so I went with that, knowing that they'd stretch out. My toes were a little sore the first few days, but are now completely fine. Have not had any other rubbing or chafing in any other spots. If walking all day on concrete, my heels get a little sore, so sometimes I'll add those gel heel inserts, but usually I'm fine as is. They're holding up well, but I tend to drag my heels when I walk, so I hope they last a while for the price.

I love these shoes. They are like wearing slippers. I ordered my usual size based on reviewers' comments that the shoes would stretch and form to my feet. I'm glad a did. At first they were quite snug and I worried I'd made a mistake. After a few wearings, though, they have molded to my feet and fit like a glove. Please note that I am not on my feet all day and I do not wear these shoes to walk great distances. I suspect they'd have stretched out sooner and more if that were true. Overall I'm very happy and thinking about another pair.

I ordered a pair in red suede. They are comfortable like slippers and they look adorable. I only wore them indoors and they lasted a good year or so. I would order another pair in the future, perhaps the leather and hope it wears a little better than the suede.

I bought these in silver and they got black scuff marks on the first day I wore them and have continued to do so over time. I always have a pair of silver ballet flats on hand and wear them a lot. Even though these are in good shape otherwise, I am going to replace them because they look so bad with all the scuff marks. It may just be the metallic leather that has this issue.

Love these shoes. Form to foot. Second pair. Wear an 8, but ordered 8.5 in both.

1 of 2: after 2 days' indoor wear. These shoes are lovely. The leather feels high-quality, the sewn construction feels reliable, and the shoes look elegant in top view and silhouette. I'm really hoping they'll stretch to fit me just right! I ordered a 7, which is my true size. The length and width fit snugly, and I'm confident the material will stretch to perfection around my foot. I can see how a half size up would eventually stretch to be too loose. My only concern with the 7s is the top edge of the shoe, which is reinforced by the stitching that attaches the inner to the upper leather -- that line is uncomfortably tight over the top of my foot. I know this part will be harder to stretch, but I need sleek black flats for an event and these were my favorites, so I'm going to try.

While I believe you need to give it time to stretch out and conform to your foot, it is pretty uncomfortable for the first while. It's a beautifully styled shoe and the quality of the leather is nice and soft.

It looks beautiful. It is so soft, feel like wearing a comfy sock. I so want to love it. However, it does not look good on my medium wide feet at all. I wish it has some motion control by arch and a little higher side like Arcopedico.

OMG. Let me start by saying I have a wide foot and ballet flats never, NEVER look good on my feet. Yet I have never given up on finding the perfect black pair. I searched Zappos high and low and originally passed on these because of the price. I ordered something else and regretted it the moment they were on my feet. So I went back to these and I am SO glad I forked over the cash. These are the most flattering ballet flats I have ever seen! Perfectly round toe and comfy in the back. I got the suede, which were tight across the top initally, but loosened up in less than a day. Love. Going to order more pairs.

Many of the reviews state this, but I'd like to reiterate - order your actual size! I am a "large" size 9, but am very satisfied with the 9 I ordered. When the shoes came they felt snug, but not uncomfortable. Perhaps cozy would be a good descriptor. It is clear that the shoe is stretching to fit my foot perfectly. I'm quite pleased! It should be noted that the toe of this shoe is long compared to my other flats. I have long toes so it's not a problem for me, but I could see how the toe portion of the leather may cut into the top of the foot for some people.

Love these cute ballet flats. I normally wear a 7 1/2 and the recommendation that you order a half size larger is definitely correct. The 8 fits me perfectly. The leather is a really soft Italian leather and molds to your foot. If you want a classic and really cute ballet flat, this is it!

Wow, these are the best flats for a girl with bunion issues. Based on all the reviews, and knowing that I am a true 7 and 3/4 (which makes it difficult to order online or to find comfortable shoes in general), I ordered an 8. Let me say that I am so glad that I did. I have a narrow heal and they are a great fit - no slipping on the heel. Granted I just put them on, but the old flats that gouged my toe box and left me limping are going in the trash! I bought the bronze metallic suede and am really happy with the color - not too brassy. Definitely have to get these in other colors.

I really wanted to love these flats, but I didn't. They were super soft, but they were too small and the front/top of the shoe is very long. I like a tiny bit of toe cleavage with my flats and these came up about halfway on the top of my feet.

I ordered these shoes in red and black. They are really lovely looking shoes. Trouble is I wear a 9M, and ordered that size and cannot put them on at all. So, they have to go back.

These shoes are definitely tight to begin with! The left foot fit fine, but the right foot was uncomfortably tight -- first time that's happened to me. It's taken several weeks for them to get comfortable. It's a a great looking shoe on the foot.

I love these shoes...have them in a variety of colors. There is not a lot of arch support if that is important to you, but I find them extremely comfortable.

Love these shoes! These are my second pair and I wear them all the time. Great for work and play! Very comfortable and go with everything. Will definitely buy these again. And, as always, Zappos delivered these quickly!

Definitely get half a size larger. I ordered my regular size based upon the reviews that stated that the shoes stretched too much. I also have feet that are a bit narrow (not true narrows, just on the narrow side of medium). My normal size was impossible to wear for even a few minutes. It was like Cinderella's ugly stepsister and the glass slipper. The problem is not in the width, but in the length. There is absolutely no wiggle room for the toes. I exchanged them for half a size larger and even that is a little tight. If they do stretch a little that will be great. Both Zappos and French Sole's websites recommend going up half a size, and based on my own experience, that is what I would recommend.

Great looking shoe. Somewhat comfortable considering the lack of support, plus there is not much sole between you and the pavement. It won't stand up to daily wear but for the occasional outing to the grocery store or yoga class, it is perfect. I typically wear an 8 however I bought this in an 8.5. This is my second pair!

So cute and more importantly so comfortable! Well made. A bit pricey for regular wear shoes, but worth it since I get pain in my feet when I wear shoes that do not fit well. I have three pairs. Love that they have so many colors/textiles to choose from.
