These felt very boxy to me. The Keen company said they run small and suggested ordering half a size bigger, which I did. but they slipped off my heels and were otherwise too boxy in the toe, even if they had been the right size.

I ordered half a size up, as instructed. There was little arch support, so I used an insert. However, that created a height issue within the shoe. The laces had to be really loose in order to accommodate my high arches and talk, wide feet. But it worked, so I kept the shoes, wearing them nearly every day for two months. There wasn't a lot of walking--I was slacking on taking the dog for long walks.
These shoes had a very easy life, is what I'm saying.
They still couldn't hack it. The heel area wore out, with a hole going straight through the mesh and cushion to the hard plastic insides of the shoe--aka, Blister City. Fortunately, Zappos says they must be defective and are allowing me to return them. However, in the past eight years, this is my second pair of Keens hiking shoes that didn't survive what should have been the break-in period. I think the fabric just isn't sturdy enough. Leather is better.

I have been buying this model for over 10 years.. my all time favorite shoe. NO MORE. My last pair was the best colors ever - but the WORSE fit. In fact, it feels like a completely different shoe. There is about an inch or more or extra material on the tongue so the laces tie up and feel really bulky and uncomfortable. Always loved this model's look and colors but they don't look so good in my closet. Every few weeks I pull them out and after an hour, I have to take off. I HAVE QUIT KEEN FOR GOOD. Last water shoes also broke within 2 months (sides came out).. but this, these Targee II are NOTHING like the ones I loved. I have to go to Ahnu Shoes now..

I made a mistake with this one! It is just a hair too short and with heavy socks I just cannot do it. They do not stay laced either. The heel is just high enough to make my foot slide and make my toes hit. I wear an 11 so I cannot get a larger size. If you do get them go a size up.

Boy did I make a mistake with these. I wear an 11 and they are a bit too short. I thought they were ok when I tried them on, but after wearing them for a few hours my toes are sore. They also do not stay tightly laced.
I was disappointed because I have a pair of Keen Newport h2 that I LOVE.

I bought these shoes for winter walking, after having had such great experience with the Keen mesh Voyageur boot in the summer. The Targhee II has a very wide heel (and my foot is wide), combined with the lacing system it is impossible to avoid heel slippage. The boots also have a very hard foot bed with no cushioned support. 4 hours of yard work on the flat and my feet are still aching the next day. If worn for a day of hiking I'm sure I wouldn't be able to walk the next day. These shoes are horribly uncomfortable (though the first 30 minutes they feel fine). Voyageur is a completely different experience. Wore these for 10 hours a day with some serious rugged mountain hiking and they were amazingly comfortable and supportive, with very good traction.

These shoes are comfortable, but if you are looking to hike in them, BEWARE! They are EXTREMELY slippery on wet surfaces. Unfortunately I will need to be buying another pair of hikers and I am VERY upset, because I like Keen's and thought these would be great. WRONG!

Horrible and stiff shoe. The shoe laces don't tie properly. No arch support and they are horrible for hiking. I tried hiking 3 times with these shoes because I thought they would be more comfortable the next time but oh boy after that third (and last hike with these horrible shoes) I decided that these shoes are just not good for my feet. I left them in Costa Rica.

After owning these for a few years now, I must write another review. These are the most uncomfortable hikers I have ever owned. I ordered the right size, they just have always fit awkwardly and left my feet hurting after any walking or hiking. There just is too much room in the cute keen toe for my feet (and my feet are a little wide) causing my foot to scrunch up in the toe and feel loose in the heel. I thought if I just tightened them up and broke them in, they'd feel better. No go. I'm switching back to Merrell's.
