Crap! These boots might look 'kewl' at the Starbucks counter as you await your double mochachino, but out on the trail, they fail miserably due to the sole: It is a multi layer, multi color affair that splits apart after 4 months, rendering them useless. Add to this, the material they are made of is absolutely treacherous in the wet, it's like wet ice when you hike across rocks or smooth, non porous terrain. Until Keen remedies these flaws with a proper sole, stay away.

Fits great, no blisters, but (2) pairs which lasted less than a year each. It's time to find a better built boot. The fabric lace eyelets tear and fail after only a few outings. The word "junk" comes to mind.

Keen's Targhee II Mid Serious Concerns. Just an observation from myself and several other wearers of Keen boots. It seems like the quality of Keen boots has been sliding down hill over the past few years. Till recently I had not heard anyone complain about Keen quality. The Keen Targhee boot fits like no other but it sure seems to fail like no other. Several friends of mine who wear the Targhee II's have mentioned disappointment that their boots have had issues within the first few months. Till last week I had not thought too much of their comments being very happy with the comfort and blister free wear the boot offered. Last week I took a new pair of Targee II Mid's on a 9 day trip and on day 3 the lace loop on one boot came un-glued. I think quality control failed to noticed the boot was missing stitching. Having to rig a brand new pair of boots to make it through the remaining 6 days is a little upsetting. Also the boots had the incorrect length laces. They were far too short. I'm returning the boots to the seller without an issue. I sure hope Keen will seriously consider taking a hard look at their manufacturing processes to make sure that all boots are built to the highest quality so your customers can count on the boots and so that you can remain on the list of quality out gear manufacturers in the minds of serious outdoors adventurers like myself.
