Expensive Therapy - It took a while for me to buy these because of the price, but now that I have them I do really love them. They did NOT have an instructional CD from this site, other retailers do. These are great for my back after a bad disk injury. Even when not wearing them I stand up straighter. Cons: Can't be worn in the rain, cushion is easily damaged, and look a little obscure. Pros: Great workout, uses different muscle groups, and improves posture.

Not what I thought! They are not as comfortable as I thought they would be. They feel a 1/2 size bigger. I guess that's why they aren't as comfortable as they should be. But I do like them. Not noticing a big difference in my legs toning. I've had them for about 3 weeks and wear them when I work out. I also don't like the laces. They don't stay tight. I constantly have to keep re-tieing them because they loosen up.

Serious Workout Walking Shoe - I've owned this expensive shoe for over a year and highly recommend it ONLY for exercise walks on flat paved surfaces. The shoe is quite heavy; The rounded shape of the sole promotes shorter steps, an upright walking position, and spreads weight impact away from your heels and towards the center of your feet -- great for people with arthritis and or foot problems. After my first few extended walks (good workouts), I felt muscle fatigue and some minor stiffness/burn in my calves, thighs, buttocks, and stomach. However, after more walking workouts the stiffness subsided. This is a serious exercise walking shoe -- not a fashion shoe. Also, never squat in these shoes in a manner that bends your toes backwards, otherwise the stiff fiberglass sole plate can break and this breakage is not covered under warranty. People who are considering this shoe should first view the DVD provided, or on MBT's website, and walk around indoors; the feeling is totally different from any other shoe that I've ever worn.

I'm not a true believer- YET! I tried wearing these bartending for a few hours. I wasn't very busy, and don't think they are meant for standing around. I will try them more when I am moving around. I can definitely feel that I am using my core more with them on. I would never wear them with shorts in public (especially after a few "moon boot" comments), so won't get a ton of use from them this summer, except for around the house. I'm hoping to become a believer soon, though!

Nice shoe - Had to buy this shoe to try and see what all the hype was. I liked this shoe but I can't say that I loved it. I can see how a shoe like this would help with posture and your core. You can't help but stand straight when you are wearing them. They are super comfortable. . . I know it may seem weird but they are, and to be honest I like to wear 3" heels so these are great just because they make you feel 4" taller and when you’re petite and 5' tall 4" makes a difference. The look. . . . well . . . let's face it they don't look the greatest but I'm willing to look beyond that. I actually like to run but because of a pain in my foot that I get after running over 4 miles I thought I give walking on these MBT's a try. I've read rave reviews about this shoe and I guess my thought is if you have a lot of disposable income and walk a lot as a form of exercise buy them. It would be an investment and if you find yourself using them at least 4 times a day you'll get your moneys worth. I didn't get to walk out doors with them but just walking around my house. . . I could feel my body working harder. The shape of the sole helps you to roll through your foot almost giving you a bit of a stretching feeling in the back of your heel. Again . . . nice shoe . . . and it probably works but so do my regular running shoes. I also had issues with my heel coming off the back. I suggest buying half a size up because when you exercise feet tend to swell . . . at least that's pretty true when it comes to running. Overall I like the shoe . . . I would love it if someone else paid for it. Oh and one last thing the grey pair which is what I bought is really dark . . . white or black look much better.

MBT Sport Shoes - The MBT Shoes are different - they on purpose forces one to walk differently and to use muscles that are not normally used in walking. They are also very. The shoes come with a DVD that explains how to use it. I think a special training session may be useful. It takes some time to get used to them - and it is advisable to walk shorter distances in the beginning in order to get the unused muscles up to speed and in order to become comfortable. I overdid the first walk and because of that, needed to "relearn" my walking. I also find the standard shoes to be too narrow and they get too hot in the summer heat - because of this I try to use them currently only for my evening walks. I still do not find them comfortable for long use and quite uncomfortable for driving.

Miracle Sneaker and UGLY - These are definitely UGLY but once you get used to them they do help your posture, legs and butt. I like to walk 3 miles a day and recently recovered (6 mnths) from a left foot 4th mtsl stress fracture. My left foot (not the movie) is flat and pronates so I thought my walking days were over. I thought I will try the MBT and it has been 3 weeks. Because of my foot problem it is the best I can do. If I did not have a foot problem they would be fantastic!! My legs and butt feel more toned every time I wear them. They are UGLY but I don't care!

Save your money... My cellulite and curiosity got the better of me, so I ordered these shoes. I think you will only see toning results if you wear them ALL THE TIME. I work in a professional office, so I would only wear them on occasion (for my daily hour walks), and while they did give my legs a good work out, the negligible results were not worth the money.

Not worth the hefty price - This shoe has an interesting concept and I would honestly rate it higher but it is way overpriced and IMO, pretty much geriatric looking. There is just no cool factor in these shoes at all. That's OK if you don't care how you look and are only in these for their supposed function. Now on to the benefits these are supposed to provide, well, they are certainly cushion-y and maybe a little squishy to walk in. That's about all the benefit I got from them. I am on concrete floors all day and honestly prefer Doc Martens to these. I wear out about 6 pairs of sneakers/tennis type of shoes per year, we'll see how long these will be good for but I don't see them lasting any longer than a pair of Nike's. At some point in the shoe's life, the cushion effect breaks down and then the shoes are pretty much used up. These feel to me a little too 'broken in' for the month that I have had them. Additionally I have heard that the resole service is pricy and the shoes are not the same as new (not the uppers but the soles). If I had it to do over, I would not have spent the money on these. So, to recap: * No cool factor * Way overpriced * Probably won't last any longer than ordinary sport type shoes.

White? Not exactly - I am happy with my purchase of MBT Sport Low. I did find, however, that the shoe upper was more of a light grey color. The fit is too loose because I have a narrow foot. MBT makes a lot of claims about their shoes working more muscles than ordinary shoes. I have never felt any muscle soreness, or any other indication that my muscles were getting an additional workout.

Less comfortable to me than the sandals, and they fit differently. However, I'm so accustomed to wearing the sandals that it's uncomfortable to wear other shoes than MBTs now. The footbed does not feel as yielding as the MBT sandals, though just as supportive; that's what I find uncomfortable.

Knee problems - My sister was excited about these shoes, told me about them, so I ordered them. I've worn them to work (I drive a bus part-time and find the short sole at the heel ideal for driving) and around the house. My sister is an avid walker and is now experiencing knee pain after wearing these shoes. She had NO knee issues prior to this. I have chosen not to wear these shoes for extended walking because of this and the fact that I had arthoscopic knee surgery 3 years ago.

Like the concept but, not the fit - I like the concept, but these shoes did not fit my feet right at all. While the wider toe box fit my feet fine, the heel was not narrow enough, and it kept sliding in and out. After 10 minutes on the treadmill, it just plain hurt from the rub. Additionally, the arch was too high (my foot has a low arch) and by the time I got off the treadmill my foot on the outside from the ball on up through the toes was numb. I am an 8.5 though, and they definitely fit my foot length-wise. I wanted them to work, because I loved the cushioned feel of these shoes, but until they make a model that fits my particular feet - I guess it isn't meant to be.

Large is too large, small is too small... To make sure I got the right size, I ordered a pair of 7 and a pair of 7.5. Turns out the size 7.0 is too tight - my toes touching the front of the shoe and the 7.5 is so loose that my heel kept sliding up and socks riding down to my feet. I am exchanging them for a pair of M Walk for better luck. The service of Zappos can't be beat. I am usually too lazy to write review, but you have to give it to Zappos. Excellent customer service.

More hype than effective - I’m not really a sneaker wearing kinda gal outside of the gym, but the idea of getting a work-out all day long got me through the vanity thing. I didn't loose any inches, and I have been faithful in wearing them. The hype was about the toning. Regretfully it is still the no pain no gain rule...these sneakers were more pain in the pocketbook and not much gain.

I can see why people like these, but they made my toes tingle after a while. Based on some of the reviews, I decided to order a half size larger to accommodate my orthotics - but they were too big. My true size fit great, but there was too much pressure on the ball of my foot (leading to sleepy toes) so I had to return them.

A big price for a design that needs more engineering - I’m disappointed and wish I could send them back, the heel is too wide and slips because you are pulled down and rocked when you walk. For the price tag I expected more comfort and did not get it. I bought these with a true desire to become more fit, and use a shoe that would not hurt my back like other sneakers.

Unsure of these altogether - I had read other reviews that stated that these ran about a half size smaller than marked so I ordered a half size larger. However, I didn't find this to be true. The laces don't stay tight--I think I will probably have to replace them. They hurt my arches (and I don't generally have any such problem with shoes) but I'm not sure if that's because they're too big. I don't know that I've noticed a difference but I do notice that they do take more effort to wear. And no, they are not very attractive. I'll keep wearing them, hoping that they do work. If I were more certain that they worked as purported, I'd buy the right size.

Still Undecided... This shoe is not by any means easy to learn to walk in. And if you walk incorrectly, they start hurting. It does take practice. I do feel the workout my leg muscles are getting and you do have to walk nice and straight in order to walk correctly in the shoe. Still not sure if they're that wonderful. Need to wear them some more. Very ugly shoe. Everyone notices them, and not in a nice way. If after more wearing, I don't see much greater results; I'll have said this shoe is a rip-off for the $.

Not worth the price! The first two weeks my feet felt great, but after that it was back to the pain again. I found that the shoes ran a bit smaller than normal, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of shipping the item back. Now I am stuck with a pair of $250 shoes. I was pretty disappointed. Sorry.

Still not sure if worth the price - I have to admit I haven't walked in these enough to know if they deliver the promised results. But I do feel like they make me stand straighter and engage my muscles. I would recommend them more enthusiastically if they didn't cost so much!

Too, Too, Too - Great reviews convinced me that these must be great walking shoes but what I found was a sneaker that was too short in length, too narrow, and too much money for what it delivered. Sent it back.

Difficult adjustment - These shoes are extremely difficult to adjust to. I work 15 hour days and am on my feet the entire time. After 6 hours on my feet in these things my feet burn like wildfire and I can barely walk. I have emailed MBT twice, they say this is normal and I am wearing them too long...I purchased them to eliminate back, knee, and foot pain and am diligently trying to "break them in" but geez, how long does it take to break them in? It's been about a month now and I am still trying to use them. Stairs are a challenge because the bottoms rock and you have to hit the stairs just right or your balance gets thrown off. The video/book says there are people locally that can teach you how to walk in these things...but locally means locally in England. Not in the states. I am 49 years old, and in good mental health...but these things are a real challenge. To be honest, I am discouraged and the $250 was a huge investment for me...I keep hoping the next day will be better, but so far, no luck.

Outer side wore out in 3 months - I wore these shoes 3 months and the outer sides on the bottom near the heel split apart. Not worth the price. I would not buy this product again.

Unfortunately these just don't cut it for me. Since injuring my knee several months ago, I have been looking for a good shoe that would help me recover faster and relieve joint stress. One of my friends has raved about MBTs, so after reading dozens upon dozens of glowing reviews, I decided to take the plunge. The three main things I was hoping for were 1.) Reduced knee pain 2.) Increased muscle use and tone and 3.) Excellent support for my overpronation (my ankles tend to roll inwards slightly and I have high arches). Unfortunately the shoe has largely failed in these areas. I walk quite regularly and I don't see or feel any change in muscle tone. I also found that I have new pain in my ankles that I have never experienced before, probably because these shoes exaggerate rather than remedy problems with overpronation, even when I am being extremely mindful of my steps. If you are someone that already pays attention to your posture when you walk, then these shoes probably aren't worth the hefty price. They certainly weren't for me.
