I'm exchanging them for the same exact boot because the strap over the top of the right foot is smooth leather (like the rest of both boots), but the strap over the left foot is bumpy grainy leather. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure they are keepers. The toe is dressier than the rest of the motorcycle style boots. On the one hand, this is kind of cool, on the other it makes me want to dress them up... but I tried them with a casual dress and skirts, and it wasn't a good look. I wear cowboy boots and my Frye Campus boots with dresses and skirts, but the Veronica Slouch were a no go for me. Leggings and skinny jeans are the way to go with my 5'5" frame. Anyway, the boots are comfortable. I'm an 8.5 with fairly wide feet and athletic calves; I bought an 8.5 and they feel great. Daniel at Zappos was super on the phone, and I'm looking forward to the replacements arriving on Tuesday!

I am hugely disappointed in Frye's QC on these boots. Maybe it is just in the Stonewash color, I don't know. I had a miserable experience with the first pair I ordered, were comfortable once on but it was hell getting them on. Absolute hell. Not worth the trouble. Then, the straps on the 2 boots were each a different color. Then, I found that there was, for lack of a better description, a gouge or thin spot on the inside of the shaft of one of the boots. Made the boot pucker at that spot on the outside, and made the leather much thinner there, I was worried with all the massive tugging to get it on, it might rip in the future. Very disappointing. So, I ordered a second pair; they fit like a dream, easy on/off and felt just right. Sheesh, what an ordeal. Is it like this with all of the other colors? It's why I only gave 3 stars overall.

This ain't my first rodeo! I love these boots, had to order them twice though! I'd like to ask Frye Co. what's up with the quality control? Two 7.5's fit really different. One felt larger and roomier than the other. (I usually order up 1/2 size with Frye. Not sure which boot was the true 7.5.) Also, my first pair there was a (2/16") difference in boot shaft height. Negligible? Noticeable to me. Also part of the (front) heel hit the floor before the back and felt odd. Perhaps would wear down with wear tho. Overall, obviously Frye's got the style down pat. Beautiful leather and boot style, I just wish you didn't have to buy a couple of them to get the fit right. (Had this same issue with another pair of Fryes I own.) I kept my second ordered pair (big thanks to Zappos) and with wear breaks in well and looks much less than the rubber boot that someone described. I ordered black and could see the similarity but that goes away with wear. If you have the time patience and credit, these could wind up being your favs for a good long while. Just a little frustrating!

First off, I love Frye boots, but these were not the quality that I find normally in Frye. The leather was soft and frankly, looked cheap. And then the ankle part of it was funny because they are slouchy and granted I have bigger calves so that may have been the reason they looked so disproportionate.

Comfy out of the box. Beautiful leather, cool boots. A little bit edgy but not too biker. Just right.

I really, really want to love this boot! Love the rounded toe and the motorcycle styling without being too over the top. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the slouch look is that flattering on my shorter legs (I'm 5'2") especially from behind. It's definitely necessary to wear a super skinny jean (jegging) or it looks really sloppy. If I was younger, I might rock them with shorts or a short skirt. Anyway, I've tried 4 different colors, and they all fit differently. The stone color was almost impossible to get on! Also looks like a rubber rain boot in person. The dark brown shine is much more attractive IMO. And fits better. But the one I think I am keeping is the dark brown full grain. It's even softer and more comfortable. That is, if I can get over the slouch thing being somewhat unflattering. In most Frye boots I take a 6, but in this style I had to size up to my normal boot size: 6.5. I may try the Veronica Shortie to see if I like it better but, unfortunately they don't have either of the dark browns in my size right now.

Is it possible to say how much I love these boots? So cool and comfy - they look fab with skirts and skinny jeans. I was worried they would be too baggy around the calf but they are perfect and the angled shaft gives this bike boot a real feminine charm.

Excellent boots, great comfort, easily broken in. very insulating! I love the brand! Definitely choose half/full size larger. I am normally an 8 but bought a 8.5 and fit perfectly. A 9 would've grant room for thick socks!

Fits great--very comfortable. I've got short legs, and the height is perfect. Great texture, and as a bonus, they smell fantastic.

A couple years ago I ordered the black version in a 10; they go on and off easily. Today I got the Stone Stonewashed in 10 and I have to use plastic bag trick to get the darn things on! Once on, they are comfortable. I must get this style 1/2 size larger than any other of my Frye boots or mules. Am not hugely happy with the color I just got, the strap on one boot is light on the other dark, so they kinda don't look like a matching pair. I didn't notice it until I had walked in my house on non-carpeted area so I guess I am screwed as to returning. If I didn't notice right away, maybe it isn't so bad, kinda free form stone washing. Oh well. I do like this cool color overall. So now I am wearing the heck out of them to try and loosen up the arch a bit so I can get them on without blowing a gasket, LOL.

I originally ordered this boot in a size 8 (which I wear in all other shoes). When I tried it on, the toe box on the right foot was very tight, and I could barely get my right foot into the boot. I then ordered an 8 1/2. Again the toe box was too tight. I ordered another pair in 8 1/2, and this time both boots fit perfectly. Since I've been wearing them, the leather has relaxed considerably, and now they are incredibly comfortable. I'd say order a half size up from what you regularly wear, and don't be afraid to try more than one pair!

Great boots, very cozy and super cute. They are a little hard to get on at first, they soften up.

Why did I wait so long to purchase these? Originally, I thought that they would look too clunky with the rounded toe, etc. So, not true! They are very feminine and rugged at the same time. Awesome with skinny jeans. I ordered the dark brown full-grain leather and they are perfect. May have to get the black in the future! Thank you to Zappos for having them on my doorstep in less than 48 hours. As always, you guys rock!

Beautiful boots, but very snug in the calf for me. Fine by themselves, but too tight to tuck in my jeans. Other than the tightness in the calf, I love them. Sad to have to return them.

Style of the boot is cute, but I didn't like the stone wash fading. They are pretty comfortable although a bit more snug than some other Frye styles. The boots made in the USA seem to fit looser. The shaft of the boot was kind of flimsy but they look fine on. I bought my true size which was right. I may try this style in another color.

What can I say? I love these boots. I bought them in red last year and saved up to buy the black pair. I just got them delivered, next day in a blizzard! I get compliments every time I wear them and they are comfortable and look fabulous with jeans, skirts, everything. Thanks Zappos, again.

Best, love these boots, they will be forever boots! Quite snug across the ball of my foot upon purchase but wore them thin sock around the house to start. Didn't take long for them to stretch perfectly. They are incredibly comfortable, despite the initial try on of being too tight. I was hopeful and was right! I am normally a size 8, bought an 8 and they are just right. I'd tried on the 8.5 thinking they might not be as tight, but they were, while also way too long. Get your right size, if they are snug, they will stretch. I suppose unless you have really wide feet. Love the 'antique' black. They aren't really antique, but more a lightly mottled dark gray/black. Nice change from solid black boots. Calf width is enough for the non-twiggy legged girls plus room for jeans. The buckles are adjustable too. Great boots.

This boot is quite beautiful, but taking longer to break in than anticipated; still somewhat tight on one foot. For the cost, I would have expected to be past the breaking period by the 3rd wear. Still working on it

Amazing boots. They fit a little snug at first, but after a bit of wear they loosen up. My calves are average size and these are a great fit not too tight, yet not baggy either.

I just received these, and I am in love. The leather is very soft and is quite slouchy. I have larger athletic legs that always seem too small for boots but these are wide enough I can wear pants without working on stretching them. I also have wider feet and these feel perfectly fine already! An absolute must have!

The boot is so comfortable. True to size but a little tough to get on at first. I wouldn't have described the boot as charcoal however. I think the color is more ash if not taupe.
