I have somewhat wide feet (sometimes I require a wide width running shoe; sometimes not), and this fact alone drastically reduces my options when it comes to winter boots. I also have had multiple foot surgeries, which makes it difficult to find comfortable shoes/sandals/boots. I envy women who can wear any shoe they come across. This winter, my 15-year-old snow sneakers finally bit the dust, and it has taken quite a lot of work to find snow boots that are both functional and comfortable. When I tried on the Cumberland IIs at a local store, I knew I had found something special. The cushioning and support are better than many other brands of snowboots; the width is appropriate for my feet and also will allow for heavier socks; they are easy to get on and off; they feel quite lightweight. I did find that the ankle felt a little loose, even when I fully tightened the laces. Ideally, a snow boot would cradle my heel in the same way a running shoe does. However, I have tried on enough boots this winter to know that I probably can't have everything that I want in a boot -- at least, not if I want to have boots to wear this winter! Overall, I appreciate that the Sorel brand runs true to size. Other brands (pricey ones) that I tried on ran so small (length) and narrow that it was almost laughable.

I ordered and tried on 4 pairs of Sorel boots and 1 pair of Merrell (because of Zappos amazing return policy), and these are the winners: cozy, comfortable and very sturdy -- not to mention cute in Turtledove. FYI for those of you with slender, normal-width feet and ankles: the Sorel boots run very wide. The Cumberland is the only snug fit.

No more granny shuffle! These boots are incredible. They feel like ski boots with blown-in insulation and extremely flexible. Warm (and dry) without socks (and not too loose) in a 2° snow storm. If these ever fail, I will buy another pair. I have worn them without YakTrax and not slipped on the ice when the dogs take me for a walk. Zappos comes through again!

I really love these boots. They are very comfortable and extremely warm. I like how solid they feel and the fact that my feet stay warm and dry. I usually wear between a 6.5 and a 7, I sent back the 6.5 because it was a bit snug tight, the size 7 was perfect, expecially with thicker socks.

The most comfortable snow boot around! I love these boots! They are perfect for walking as they are lightweight and have excellent support. I take my dog on 2-3 mile walks and they are as comfy as tennis shoes. I also like that they are tall enough to tuck my pants into so I don't get them wet in the snow. Since the boots lace up, it is easy to put pants of differing thicknesses in and still have a perfect fit. I've walked through 10+ inches of snow and through the slushy aftermath when all the snow finally melted, and they kept my feet dry. Part of what can make them so light is the thin lining. They are warm enough if you are walking, but if you are stationary you will need a thick sock. Some people might not like having to deal with laces. A zippered-up boot would be faster, but I think the extra time to tie laces is worth it since you get a better fit. The laces are a good length (not so long they drag, but not so short you struggle to tie them) and easy to tighten. The biggest draw-back to this boot is appearance (I have the green color and they could pass as hunting boots), but I am so happy with them I don't really care what they look like.

I bought these boots last year and they are worth every penny spent. Last winter we had some temps of 20 below zero and these boots were very warm and they look great with leggings and skinny jeans. I would buy them again.

FABULOUS TRULY WATERPROOF and WARM. I searched long and hard for boots to keep my feet warm on daily hikes with the dogs through muck, snow, sleet and ice in sub-freezing temps. I have wide feet and can not wear B widths but these fit PERFECTLY with warm socks. Tons of toe room. Extremely comfortable. Perfect for rough terrain in this miserable north central PA climate where winter lasts forever. I have been beating them up all winter and daily hikes and they still look new when cleaned up. Extremely well-made. These will last for years! If you have wide feet, don't hesitate. Highly recommend these!

I did a lot of reading reviews before I chose this boot. It is great. Warm, well made and very cute. I wear an 8 1/2 and they were too small. I returned for a 9 and they are perfect with a nice sock. They are super warm and I never feel like they are heavy. I love these boots. I got the light color.

Great boots! Super warm. My feet are always cold but not with these babies! Very comfortable too. I took others advice and ordered half size up. They fit great with my orthotics in. The color of the dark tundra is strange. Indoors looked like a dark khaki but outdoors they were definitely olive green. Still very cute boot. I replaced a pair of Land's end 400gram boots that never fit right. Zappos was amazing arrived at my APO overseas in 3 days!

Comfy, warm, and stylish to boot -- just what one has come to expect from Sorel. Tried several other comparable styles in other brands, all inferior to this one.

I love these boots so far. I got them just before we got 10 inches of snow and they were perfect.

I absolutely love these boots. I wanted something for walking the dogs in the snow, but they needed to be comfortable enough to wear all day for a ski vacation. These are perfect. I love the strong nylon upper, they are easy to take on and off, have good support, are high enough but not too tall/uncomfortable on the shins. I wore them around the house just because they felt good!

Ran a little big, I kept them anyway and wear thick socks. Absolutely perfect otherwise. Can wear to hike or with dress to work.

These boots are like walking on air. I have had a pair of north face boots for the past 10 years (they are still in excellent condition) but they are extremely stiff. These Sorel boots are flexible, comfortable, and light...exactly what I was looking for. I was so happy with mine, I bought them for my sister and mother as well.

I researched many boots before narrowing it down to this one and the Merrell Encore Apex. After receiving both and trying them out around the house, this one was the winner. First, I have a size 11 foot and am usually self conscious of it. This boot doesn't make a size 11 look monstrous! As soon as I put my foot in the boot, I knew it was a good fit. They felt so cozy, comfortable and very sturdy in the short time that I had them on. The faux fur on top gives them a semi-cute look. I can't wait to wear them out when it snows!

I live in Wisconsin and was looking for a pair of excellent winter boots (I'm sorry, but Uggs are not winter boots, they are not waterproof). I've worn these out to walk and tromp through snow and they have worked out well thus far. They are very comfortable and definitely keep my feet toasty. Their grip is not fantastic, but I haven't found a pair of snow boots that do possess that particular quality so I wouldn't rate them lower based on that. They aren't the cutest boots in the world, but they aren't noticeably unattractive. I am technically a size 6, but tend to order boots a half-size up which I did with these. They are on the roomier side which I like so I can wear thick socks, but I wouldn't recommend ordering them much bigger than what you normally wear.

I ordered these last night and got them this morning. Wow - warp speed shipping - I love it! They fit nicely and are comfy. It took me awhile to seek out the perfect boot for me and I'm glad I found it. Thanks Zappos! Now I know I wont be falling on my butt in the snow and ice this winter!

I've been happy with these boots overall. I don't agree with the temp rating, however. Standing outdoors for anything longer than a few minutes in below 10 degree F weather, my tootsies get cold. They're okay if I'm active (walking, snowshoeing), but I was hopeful that the temp rating was a little more spot-on. Otherwise, they're relatively light, and reasonably comfortable; they're easy to drive, walk and run briefly in. I wish the shaft were a little stiffer, so there isn't any wrinkling, but then again, they'd be harder to slip in and out of without untying.

Great winter snow boots. Warm, lightweight, but tough and still have some style. I am a size 8. Ordered an 8 and it fits just right. I can wear heavier socks and not be cramped. One negative is the no or little arch support and no separate foot bed to remove and replace with an orthotic arch support. Too cramped to put an orthotic in place so I go without. Other than that...good boots!

These boots are warm, comfortable and stylish. There's only one thing I'd change, and that would be to make them a few inches taller. Snow gets down the back of the boot and works its way to my ankles. I might just get myself a pair of gaiters to wear with them.

Very happy with these boots! They fit like a glove and are incredibly warm...they also are quite stylish. No complaints except that we have had such a mild winter I have not been able to give them a good workout.

I love these boots! They are super comfortable, and moderately stylish as well, which is rare with a snow boot. I can also report that I found myself in a 5-in puddle of water yesterday and no water came in, even above the rubber and on the fabric. Well worth the money, great value!

Very pleased with the fit, comfort, weight and warmth of this boot. Having laces allows you to wear a lighter or heavier sock comfortably.

Just got these in the brown with back bottoms. With shoes most of the time I'm a size 6 1/2 so that's what I ordered. Even with a pair of medium weight socks, they are too big. Happily, I saw that a 6 was available so ordered them and am optimistic they will fit. The boots are nice looking and I bought them for walking my dog and any adventures that take me out in the snow and ice. Speedy delivery and great service from Zappos.

These are great boots! As comfortable as Uggs but waterproof and extra warm. They look great with jeans for running errands on those awful winter days, function without sacrificing style!
