I wear 38 in Birkenstock sandals. My shoes size runs between 8.5-9. After reading reviews, I ordered up a size in the London (39). It was too big. I received the 38 yesterday and the fit is perfect.

I wear 37 in Birkenstock Arizona and Boston. The 37 narrow was too short for me. Tried the 38 narrow and the length and width were okay, but they felt very stiff. I imagine they would have broken in eventually, but want to try the soft footbed version instead. Otherwise these seem like cute little shoes and the narrow width makes them appear less bulky.

I wanted to love these shoes. I've been a Birkenstock purist for about 15 years. I've had three pairs of Bostons, and was excited to try out the London. I've also had great success with Zappos. When my package arrived and I put the shoes on, I notice that the left felt significantly tighter than the right. (My feet are the same size.) I've had some minor differences in Birkenstocks before, which have gone away with a little breaking in, so I decided to keep them. I've now been wearing the shoes for over a month, and the left shoe hasn't loosened up at all. I'm pretty bummed to say the least.

Fit and size is excellent. I am a Men’s Size Medium, and the European Size 45 is perfect. Extremely comfortable. A little stiff out of the box, but within a couple of hours, perfect!

They were to "manish" for me for the price.

Love these shoes! Bought a brown pair when I started teaching (and I always regretted not buying black!) Finally came back to purchase the black pair I really wanted- these feel narrow and a bit short right out of the box. I'm sure over time they'll stretch and conform to my feet just like my first pair. Can't beat Birkenstock quality!

I really wanted to love these shoes. I have 5 pair of Birks sandals and live in them all summer. I wanted a closed shoe to wear in the winter and the London seemed to fit the bill. The fit of these is so odd. The back slides off my heel like a clog, the tab on the back digs into my ankle at a high spot, and the arch support is a weird bump that hit the ball of my foot instead of my arch. They do not fit anything like any of my other Birks. Sadly these are going back and my hunt for supportive winter shoes continues...

The right shoe was tighter than the left and had a hard time getting my foot in. I liked the feel of the left shoe in terms of the toe space. However, the leather is so stiff I think it would take a long time to soften. The worst part was the insole - it was hard as a rock, and I can’t imagine standing on them more than a couple of minutes. Needless to say, I returned them.

I have worn Birkenstocks for years. Maybe it is something I am doing differently, but it seems that the soles are starting to wear out faster than they did in the past. These did not last 2 years when in the past I had Birkenstocks last nearly 10.

These are great! Very traditional Birkenstock fit. Super comfortable and made with quality. Not much else to say. I’ve worn Birkenstocks for 25 years and these don’t disappoint at all.

Bought these for my fuddy-duddy husband. We're huge Birkenstock fans, and have been for years. We love the clogs, sandals, boots - everything! My husband wanted a pair of backed shoes to wear to work as a teacher that 1. Were going to be extremely comfortable and 2. Would last forever. Based on the long life of our other Birkenstock shoes, these seemed a good choice. Style wise, I think they're pretty cute, but could definitely be perceived as dorky by some - I think that's their charm! He has worn them for a week almost everywhere and just loves them. They stay put, they're comfortable and versatile. A good option especially for the New England fall and winter.

Was disappointed in the quality of the product sent to me. I ordered these as a replacement for my husband's shoes of the same style. He's worn them nearly every day for five years and they've served him well. Though I'd rather the Jaren be offered in the oiled leather, it's not- so we simply reordered. Firstly, though I understand the nature of oiled leather as being a natural, aged-looking product, I felt that these appeared extremely scratched for being new. What's worse was the straps, however. Upon trying them on, my husband commented that he could hardly fit his foot in one of them. Turns out the straps are about 1.5" different in length. I tried to chat a representative before returning them, as the site instructs- but it was just an echo chamber. She never responded. So, back they go for a full return. I'll purchase through the official brand site instead.

I love my Birkenstocks. They may not be terribly fashionable, but I like the way they fit and feel. I will always wear them for their comfort and basic looks in my opinion.

I love Birks, and i love the look of these (I wanted a closed-toe shoe). My problem is that I can't slip them on and off without buckling and unbuckling them, and that is really a hassle and more work than tying. I'm returning them, but i wish they were easier to use because i like how they look and feel.

Wow! Awesome shoes. I’ve never reviewed anything but here it goes. I’ve had Birk sandals and clogs and always wore a size 40 regular. Whatever you’ve read or heard about Birk sizing being on the small or large or wide side, ignore all of it! Before investing this kind of money I double checked my size. There are NO Birk retailers in my city so I went to the Birk website. They provide a size guide for you to print off and tape together and then measure your foot. It will measure both length and width. THE SIZING GUIDE ON THE BIRK WEBSITE IS EXTREMELY ACCURATE. I called them to verify that the guide is accurate for your FOOTBED SIZE. So in my case the guide measured me for a 41 regular instead of a 40. But the Birk site was out of my size in the black color. The first site they suggested for my purchase was Zappos. I asked about fakes and second hand products and the Birk company told me that they fully endorsed Zappos as an authorized retailer, but Zappos was the only one they endorsed like that. So I ordered from Zappos which was amazing. Put my order over the phone and the woman had me enter my card number on a recording instead of giving her the number because that is a Zappos policy to guard against credit card theft. Amazing service and super easy to use. She upgraded me to next day shipping and the shoes arrived next afternoon. Perfect Birk quality and the fit was amazing. All these years I’ve been wearing my Birks too small! I’ve attached a pic of the inside on my largest foot. You can see where your toes should stop on the footbed to still allow plenty of room for movement. I’ve been wearing them for a week and a half almost every day for around 14 hours a day. Typical Birks they were very stiff at first, VERY, but after a week of that much wear they finally started to break in. Now they are almost perfect and only need another few days. I also attached pics of their authenticity. A full “Birkenstock” on the buckle, embossed “Birkenstock” on the inner sole, accurate measurements on the footbed with matching numbers on both shoes. After I received them I noticed there was no toe bar? I called Birk to verify that the London DOES NOT HAVE A TOE BAR, so they are not fake. Also posted pic of the sole and they seem to be wearing fine. They are very easy to resole in the future. So, sizing guide from Birk is super accurate, Zappos is amazing and they are endorsed by Birk, quality of the shoe is top notch and comfort is better then even other Birk models. Spend the money and buy these shoes. Footbed fit is the most important aspect so GET IT RIGHT and everything else will be amazing. Good luck!

Love these. My only issue is that I can’t seem to find any socks that will not slip off my feet when I wear them. Also, the sizing is a little off. You may have to order different ones to test it out.

Great shoe! Not sure I would like it from the pictures, but it fits and look great on.

I love all Birkenstocks, but I've never had a pair of Londons but wanted them for work. I always wear 39 although I wear a size 9 and have wide forefoot and high arch and my toes go right to the end, but never really hit. When I tried my usual 39 regular, my second to last toe hit the end, and it's just not the right kind of shoe for that to happen- and I didn't have socks on yet, so i tried a 40 - and they are a bit roomy, but i know once they melt into my feet, they will curve and fit perfect. I should probably be wearing a 40 anyway. They are beautifully made shoes and the leather is a dulled surface but smooth - will only get better with time.

I got these because they looked hand made. Birkies fit like gloves and this one fit almost too well...I got a little claustrophobic because I was strapped in so well, my feet didn’t move inside at all. My problem is that I have two bones growths on the top of my foot and the shoe rubbed one of those to the point of raw. I loved them, but had to send them back.

As anyone knows, and who has had Birkenstocks before, your foot will "form" to the footbed of these shoes. WELL, it was obvious that the pair I received today had been worn previously because there were obvious TOE MARKS in both footbeds! Yuck...Absolutely disgusting and I'm very disappointed Zappos! I suggest you audit the department that inspects your shoes before shipping them out! Returning immediately and hesitant to order from Zappos again.

These were comfortable, as one would expect from this brand, the only thing was how annoying it is to loosen up the buckle in order to fit your feet into the shoe. The color is fantastic and good quality leather.

I love these shoes! The first pair I ordered was too wide but Zappos customer service was wonderful. They made the return very easy and my replacement pair came immediately!

This is my third pair of London clogs. They’re always too narrow across my (pretty fleshy) feet in the beginning, but the leather loosens up and/or the cork compresses, and then they’re the most comfortable shoes on the planet (at least for someone like me who needs lots of arch support). The first pair lasted about 15 years with heavy wear, with multiple re-solings, until the interior of the shoe finally started falling apart. My second pair was in for its annual re-soling and I realized I really needed a third pair so I would never be without one when one was in the shop. Hence this pair.
