The leather is so stiff it’s almost impossible to put on.

I like the style. But it’s hecka HARD!!! I needed wide width shoes bec the outside of my foot is achy. The shoes looked wide enough. Nope. Toe box is wide enough. But the middle part was tight, squeezed my foot. The whole shoe from top to bottom was hard like a whole safety shoe. I have no time to break-in shoes. I need shoes to prevent my foot pain from worsening. I got it on Wednesday evening. Returned it next morning. Sorry Birkenstock. Your sandals worked fine. Sadly these shoes didnt.

I had never tried this Birkenstock style before. They are definitely wide enough for my feet, bunions and all. Unfortunately, I ordered them one size too large so I can't really tell how they fit. I will reorder. Thank you, Zappos, for your prompt shipping.

I love the comfort of Birkenstocks but needed to return due to difficulty with putting shoe on. I have a high instep and would have to use a shoe horn to wear.

The top of the show was too low for my foot to fit in. I couldn't even get my foot in the shoe. Seems like the 12s are getting smaller.

I like them, just need to break them in just like all Birkenstock’s.

I'm wondering if there's an issue with Birkenstock's overall quality, as the left shoe was totally fine - the leather was pliable and comfortable and easy to put on/take off. The right shoe was TOTALLY different - it was a much thicker leather, making it stiff to the point that it took me 10 minutes just to get the buckle open. It took forever just to get it on my foot, and the shoe immediately cut into the back of my heel and everything about it was stiff and just off. Super disappointing!

These are so comfortable. At first they are stiff and a little tight across the arch. I conditioned them with leather honey; a lot of black dye got on my rag, but they softened up and didn't look as ashy as before. The tongue was pressing against the front of my ankle, so i spent 10 minutes bending it up and massaging it, then left it curved up under the strap for a couple hours. The strap was also stiff and squeaky but stopped squeaking after I bent and massaged the straps. These have a lot of toe space. These are my first pair of Birkenstocks. I read about fake birks and wondered, but Zappos is an authorized Birkenstock dealer. So even though the shoes were wrapped in plastic bags and had leather shedding off the straps, and they didn't have the leather symbol stamped on the footbed nor numbers stamped under the buckle, these are still high quality shoes and look genuine. lol.

I want oiled leather. But they sent me suede. Possibly my fault. But I am sending back. Will have to wait until they have my NARROW size in oiled leather. And that could be a long wait.

These were a size larger for me so I returned them. I am considering buying another pair but sizing down a size

I work in a greenhouse and this oiled leather is truly waterproof. My favorite Jolly clogs changed so thought I'd try these. They are almost as supportive as my favorite Mayari sandals but the footbed is different somehow. The support is still excellent. They are probably only going to last one season tho - I walk on concrete & gravel all day and the tread is getting thin and it's only July.

It seems Birkenstock has changed the fit of some styles. These felt smaller and narrower than my older Birks. Online research confirms they changed the London or maybe it’s me, so I returned and ordered the Boston to try. The online photo is darker than the actual product in taupe suede.

I have owned several pairs of Birkenstocks over the years, mostly sandals and a pair of Boston clogs - all size 39 regular foot bed. The Boston clogs were suede and really stretched out to sloppy fit. Re. the London shoe, I could barely get my foot into the 39 and purchased size 40. It feels a little loose, I'm breaking in the beautiful leather walking around the house and deciding if they are too big. Otherwise perfect as usual. I plan on wearing with socks...or barefoot.

I've always wanted a pair of Birkenstocks but as a person who lives with disability, I have to have closed backed shoes and a lot of Birkenstock styles are open at the back. I love the London! It's super comfortable out of the box, fits well with a variety of socks and does not have a toe bar which is great for me as my toes don't lay completely flat. I bought a women's EU 40 which gave me enough room to be comfortable. I'll wear these for years to come, highly recommend!

There are so uncofortable, very hard , had to return them

I'm a life-long Birkenstock wearer, and have had this style before. It doesn't change quality or fit--always long-lasting, comfortable, and expensive. The oiled version of London looks scuffed easily, but you can equally easily wipe it clean. Love them.

The fit was a little tight, so we exchanged it for a next size up. Otherwise, they are super comfortable and durable. My husband owned a pair for the last 15 years, loved them, but it was time to upgrade.

Fit was fine but leather was too stiff and tongue long enough to rub the top of foot and leg. Having to return.

This looked to be not authentic Birkenstock. The leather was very stiff and I actually had ordered the same style, different size from Birkenstock web site and the craftsmanship was CLEARLY differerent. The box was super beat up too, am wondering if that box had been returned before...

I own three pairs of Birkenstock - 1 sandal, 2 boots and the arch in this pair did not align with my foot; I don't know if the pair was defective; I am consistently a size 36

I usually take a 7 1/2 shoe. One foot has a bone spur on my instep so I ordered size 8 - 8 1/2 woman’s. The shoes slip a little but overall very comfortable. The only issue is it’s hard to buckle. Hopefully after becoming worn in it gets easier.

I have several pairs of Birkenstock sandals which I love and wear a lot during warmer months. I had high hopes for this shoe-style Birkenstock for winter. But, the leather was very stiff, I needed a shoe horn to get them on, and - though I had ordered my usual size - the contoured footbed did not fit the bottom of my feet. Sadly, these are going back. I will stick to Birkenstock sandals.

Zappos always has the fastest delivery- faster than Amazon Prime! The leather was very stiff at first and hard to wear with socks. I was afraid that the top of my foot was too high to fit, but it was just the stiff leather. At first, the arch support didn't feel like it was in the right spot. I wore it around the house barefoot to help loosen up the leather and my arch eventually aligned with the support. Don't be scared by the stiff leather! I bought this because my sandals were so comfortable that I wanted to wear those soles year round. I look forward to styling these with so many outfits!

How can you go wrong with Birkenstocks?

Super comfortable, supportive shoe. Great for long days on your feet.
