I ordered the 8-8.5 given my feet are podiatrist measured to be 8.5. My friend described me as looking like a platypus. I think I’d love these shoes if they were a smidge smaller. Unfortunately I scuffed them during the trial wear, so not going to return them.

This is a great shoe. This is my second pair. The first pair leather strap was coming undone after 2 weeks. Zappos promptly fixed the issue. Thank you Zappos.

I thought these shoes are not for me because they were initially tight fitting. Now after the 2nd week, they are fitting much better. After much research, the shoe fits much better after a few weeks of wear. I am appreciating the shoe. I recommended giving the shoe time to conform to your foot before giving up on it. I believe these shoes are true to size.

I’m an executive chef and I’ve been wearing Birkenstock London’s my entire career. They are incredibly comfortable for long hard days on my feet with fantastic support. When other coworkers are complaining about their feet that is the last thing on my mind and they are sturdy enough to take it. Most shoe repair shops are able to refurbish them including replacing the outer sole further extending the life of your Birkenstocks. Love!!

I love my Birkenstocks! And surprisingly, my usual size didn't fit. That made me truly sad.

I have a high instep and these were uncomfortable,unlike my Boston's

I have worn Birkenstock Arizonas and Bostons in the same size as the London I ordered. The London was stiff and I could not even get my foot into the shoe.

These fit differently than other shoes I have worn. Based on other reviews I paid less attention to where the leather hit my foot and more attention to how the insole fit. The arch support is right where it should be but the rest of the shoe feels loose, however when I put on heavier socks they are fine. I would have liked to try these in a narrower fit if they were available but…Birks in the size I want can be so hard to find and this is no exception. I was hoping to have these broken in for a trip but I think I need to wear them more before they become all-day shoes. Once they are broken in they should be a great everyday shoe, they are very well made. As to they style, I feel a bit like a Smurf but they are so comfortable so I don’t care what others think.

They're Birks and exactly as I expected. They'll take some breaking in, but they'll be comfortable forever after that's done. They're a solid shoe and comfortable.

Way too big, so disappointed. Shoe size is normally 6.5 but I was walking out of these!

These did not work for me. I wear Birkenstock sandals, but these did not work to accommodate a toe with arthritis. Not the shoe's fault, but mine. I'm disappointed! I would give them higher stars for the left foot, not so much for the right!

I like the idea of Birkenstocks but I had difficulty in putting them on so I'm returning them. This is one of the main reasons I deal only with Zappos, not having to worry about returning an item if it doesn't work for you. Thanks Zappos!

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks and I really didn't know what to expect. I read a lot of reviews here on Zappos and those convinced me to try out a pair. Zappos generous return policy also played a huge part in my decision; they literally take all the risk out of buying shoes. So far the "Birkeys" have worked out for me; I wear them for a few hours and then change into another pair of my regular shoes - sneakers. I can tell they're breaking in gradually and I'm making it a point to wear socks with a little more weight than I normally wear. The wide toe box is quite comfortable so if you need a bit extra room these might well be the answer for you.

These were not like the sandals where they felt great right out of the box. My right foot was a little snug than my left foot so there was some discomfort at first. But after I wore them for a day, they became more comfortable. These will probably be my everyday shoe for winter.

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks and so far they feel pretty comfortable. I particularly like the wider toe box, it's very roomy.

Exactly what I expected for Birkenstock Londons but Zappos delivered earlier than promised and perfectly perfect!

I wear a 40. Based on reviews, I ordered a 41. It was too big. Returned for a 40. It was hard to get my foot in. I unbuckled and wore barefoot for 2 days in the house. Day 3 Thin socks and then medium weight socks. They are buckled in first hole amd I love them. They become better each time I wear. I did massage the right arch on mine by pushing down a bit. Now they are amazing. Medium width foot. Plantar fasciitis and diabetic. Love them.

Omg these are great. Be patient. 2 days later I was dancing in them. Lol I had to work on the right arch.. it was a tiny bit higher so I stood on it w my heal...then massaged the cork w my thumbs...not a deal breaker for me since cork gives. I love these. I had originally gone up a size per reviews. No. I finally ordered my regular size 40. They felt right barefoot...and I knew they'd give...after 3 days I'm wearing a mid weight sock and have now buckled them in the first hole. I unbuckled to work them in. So happy and appreciate Zappos' patiene w me. This one worked and worth the price. Buy them and give them a cha.ce, but make sure they fit right barefoot. I did that w another pair...broke them in barefood since everything lined up w my feet and the shoe (Birkers you know what I'm talking about).. Happy girl.

Little stiff at first, but the more I wear them the more comfortable they get.

Stiff and unyielding leather, unlike my other Birkenstocks Boston and Milan. Part of the stiffness was of course due to London's having a closed heel; between the stiff exterior and the original footbed, my foot felt encased in wood.

I bought my regular size 6 in woman's and bought one for my father, his regular size in men's. We both have longer toes and all other Birkenstock worked for me perfectly, but this one the right shoe is too small and hits the toe. Paid to get it stretched, but after a few times, it is small again. So for me, I gave it away for $35. My father has not worn his. It is beautiful, and has good support but could not use it. Also, it is deep so it was uncomfortable. If you have narrow longer foot, don't buy this model. Again, all other Birkenstock 36 N works perfectly for me. But glad someone else could use mine so is a pay it forward.

I have used Birkenstock clogs for so many years and buy then coz of the comfort level but this shoes I got was really uncomfortable and felt like some fake Birkenstock.

Great show,,like my other Birkenstocks, there is a break in period, otherwise fabulous… Zappos customer service has always been great

Great shoes and delivered quickly. These do take time to break in as all Birkenstocks do. But afterwards they wear wonderfully!!
