I have a high instep and these were uncomfortable,unlike my Boston's

I like the idea of Birkenstocks but I had difficulty in putting them on so I'm returning them. This is one of the main reasons I deal only with Zappos, not having to worry about returning an item if it doesn't work for you. Thanks Zappos!

The fit was good but the tongue of the shoe rubbed against the front of my leg when I walk. I know this would be a problem. Not quite wide enough for my bunion either so I am returning.

I have a high arch and this particular shoe did not fit because of that. The shoe was tight and the strap was not long enough for me to click the strap on. I have a Boston and that fits, but I can't wear it outside with winter weather.

I was really excited to receive my new Taupe London Birks but when I tried them on, although they were the narrow width they seemed wider than my other pair. I also wanted the color to be darker. I didn’t love the shoe so I will returned.

I wear 37 in Birkenstock Arizona and Boston. The 37 narrow was too short for me. Tried the 38 narrow and the length and width were okay, but they felt very stiff. I imagine they would have broken in eventually, but want to try the soft footbed version instead. Otherwise these seem like cute little shoes and the narrow width makes them appear less bulky.

I have worn Birkenstocks for years. Maybe it is something I am doing differently, but it seems that the soles are starting to wear out faster than they did in the past. These did not last 2 years when in the past I had Birkenstocks last nearly 10.

I love Birks, and i love the look of these (I wanted a closed-toe shoe). My problem is that I can't slip them on and off without buckling and unbuckling them, and that is really a hassle and more work than tying. I'm returning them, but i wish they were easier to use because i like how they look and feel.

I really wanted to like these as I needed them for plantar fasciitis, but wow they are ugly. I'll continue wearing my Birk sandals around the house, even in the winter (with socks on--how fashionable!) I may try the Birkenstock inserts to go in other shoes outside the house.

OK - so I reviewed these on day one of getting them and trying them on BUT I have worn them a bit around my house and the tongue part cuts into my ankle - as much as I want these to work they will go back

I own dozens of pairs of Birkenstocks in many different styles. I have several pair of Bostons and turned to the London to have a closed heel shoe for winter. I usually wear a 38 regular in Bostons and 39 regular in Birkenstock boots. I ordered the 38 and 39 regular in the Londons. Neither fit. I understand the Birkenstock Break-In process. Heck, I even wrote a blog about it on my page ilovebirkenstocks.com. There was no way the Londons would fit over my instep comfortably. Where the buckle closes on the side is much more narrow than one would expect after having worn Bostons. Sadly I returned both pairs.

After wearing daily for 3 months the tread has worn bare! Otherwise excellent.

Ordered a 45 (12) narrow, perfect length and width, footbed is different from all the other Birkenstocks I own. arch is right under my metatarsal heads, very uncomfortable - not sure if regular would be the same so just sending back.

One shoe was narrower/tighter then the other but stretched with some a little wear. Shoes were different color brown for each other, I decided not to return! Checked your box.

I bought size 8.5 regular mens not realizing these shoes are unisex. They are too narrow and uncomfortable. They run small too, hard to put on.

I do have other Birkenstocks in the same size (36R) that I love--but these are much, much bigger than my other 36s. They are very stiff. Nice shoe, but Birkenstock shouldn't abandon women with small feet. I wear 35s and 36s. If these came in a 35R or N, or a 36N, they might fit. Disappointed.

Have patience breaking them in! Afjust the buckle strap periodically during breaking in period. Wear indoors at first then outdoors for increasing amounts of time. Takes time to get comfortable fit.

Didn't work for me. I tried desperately to love these, but they hurt my feet. The arch support was not comfortable and my arch was too high for the top of the shoe. It rubbed like the dickens! I read the reviews and have determined that for most people with normal arches these are probably great, but for those of us with high arches, beware. I wear a women's size 10 and initially brought the 41 narrow, which was too small. I thought that this was the problem and so I exchanged them for the 42 narrow and the problem was worst. Sorry, but these are not for me.

If Birks work for you and you can get the proper fit, I'm sure these would be great. Maybe the size I ordered was too big? They were the same size (40) as my Amsterdams that fit well. My instep/arch is on the high side, and my heel is narrow in comparison to the front of my foot. I'm unsure and the top of the shoe at the instep seemed to come too far up my foot (is this the vamp? if so, the vamp was too high) and so was poking into my foot near the flexion point, and the heel seemed to slip too much plus the top of the heel was poking into my achilles. The strap is a bit difficult to adjust and it seems to have one or two holes where it prefers to live. They look great for a pair of Birks, though! To have the uniform color all around the heel (vs the cork) looks sleek and less like a casual comfort shoe.

Really wanted these shoes to be great but unfortunately the toe box is so wide the shoes looked ridiculous on my size 8 feet. I love my Birkenstock sandals and would like to find some equally comfortable everyday cold weather shoes. These were not the ones.

It says the size 36 is for shoe size 5-5 1/2 which is totally wrong! Birkenstock is not making hardly any shoes in the 35 which has always been the size 5-5 1/2 . . . they fit like a 6-6 1/2 which is correct for the 36, so beware of the new sizing!

I am not thrilled with these but I kept to wear indoors during winter months. I have narrow, hard to fit feet. The Birkenstock foot bed is what I need most. I hate the strange toe shape.

I love Birkenstock, the originals. I like the Boston style best for its strong arch support. I have a chronic foot condition (Plantar Fasciitis), and my Birks really help with that problem. I do not like the spin-off's like New Walk, Tatami, Papillo, soft-footbed or the ones made for QVC. For me, the best Birkenstocks are the originals.

These run really large. They are also pretty stiff. But they are very well made and will probably last for years. I also ordered similar shoes by Joseph Seibel, exactly the same European size, and they are on the small side. So beware.

Uppers were really scuffed up looking although that may be problematic with the "Iron" finish only. Fasteners too tighten up the shoes are crazy difficult to use. Was really looking forward to these but very disappointed...I mean how can a major shoe company screw up a simple hole'n'pole fastener? Well, Birkie sure did.
