Comfort -
I have a wide foot & these shoes have a lot of toe room which would accommodate orthotics easily. I wore them all day the first time I put them on. Wish there was a little better arch support but my insole took care of that.

A little too roomy for flat feet -
I had a pair of 925's and loved them. These are the replacement and for me they don't fit as well. I have flat feet, not just flat arches, and the toe box seems very deep and lacing them tighter doesn't work to take up the extra space. I have solved the problem somewhat with thicker socks (Thor-Lo) but may have to find another shoe for the hot summer months when I don't want to wear thick socks. Otherwise, they have great arch support and good stability and are nicer looking than the 925's. If you need a deep shoe these would be great.

Good solid support -
With plantar fasciitis and a dog that HAS to go for a walk twice a day, this is a great shoe. Not a fashion statement, but a real workhorse. Support, structure, cushioning, and knowing the other NB shoes I have had, I expect it to hold up nicely.

Comfortable Walking Shoe -
I have worn New Balance walking shoes for years and have liked them very much...recently I have experienced a condition called Morton's neuroma which causes a numbing sensation of the toes due to pressure on the balls of the feet...these New Balance were recommended for this condition and they seem to work fine as I walk 3 miles per day for fitness purposes. Break-in period was only 1 day...

Nice wide toe area, but heel too large -
I have wide feet, and it is difficult to find shoes with a wide enough toe bed. I bought this shoe in a EE width and it was nice and wide in the toe area. Unfortunately, it is too wide in the heel, leaving me with heel blisters when I wear it.

Comfort Over Fashion Every Time!
Got my 926s in wide and gray. I really only need a C width but that's hard to find. Having plantar fasciitis and heel spurs, I've found these shoes to be very comfortable and supportive and I don't need to try to cram an orthotic device in. Am not shying away from long-day activities now!

Finally!!!!
I am a nurse with some major foot problems. Not a great combination. To add insult to injury...I have a wide foot so finding a comfortable shoe that fits is not an easy job. I need a shoe with more of a platform effect and this shoe fits the bill perfectly. It's very comfortable...fits well...and doesn't cause me added pain. The rounded toe is roomy and the shoe puts a definite pep in my step. I am hooked on this style.

Comfy but a little too roomy -
I need more room in the toe box so decided to get a pair of these along with a pair of 843s. This is a lot of shoe, the toe box is a little too deep which causes the whole shoe to fit loosely and lacing them tighter doesn't really solve the problem. Your best bet is to wear thicker socks (maybe even 2 pairs). They are comfortable but heavier and bulkier than the 843. I wear orthotics but don't bother to use them with these as they take up less room thereby making the shoe feel even larger. The supplied footbed is soft and cushiony. Flared pants help disguise the orthopedic look. I will probably not buy this shoe again due to the weight and roominess.

A little overrated -
I found this shoe to be a bit too hard for metatarsal problems. The insole is not as molding or cushiony as I thought it would be.

Very comfortable shoe -
Finding a comfortable walking shoe/sneaker can be very challenging for me. I have a pretty small shoe size but a wide foot, a high arch, and a painful bunion (egads). My podiatrist recommended New Balance and they do seem to be great shoes (I own a pair of their running sneakers). These walking shoes are quite comfortable -- they are definitely wide and give your feet a lot of room. My only complaint is that the toe box seems a little short -- I ordered a 1/2 size larger and my big toe bumps the front ever so slightly. I kept them, though, because I thought going up another 1/2 size would render them too large. They are not very sleek -- in fact, they're a little on the "Herman Munster" side. But if you're looking for a sturdy, well-built walking shoe that is comfortable even on city streets, then you should give these a try.

Morton's neuroma -
I developed Morton's Neuroma and needed shoes to exercise in and to continue going to the gym. These shoes have helped me and my feet feel better after just 2 weeks of wearing them, and with continuous wearing I'm sure they'll get even better. The comfort level is good along with the arch support.

Great shoe -
Although it feels a bit wider than most of the other NB shoes, it is very comfortable. I wear NB only-usually 811's. These are a bit more comfortable, but either shoe is really an excellent choice.

Comfy 926 -
Shoes are comfortable, functional, and great when on my feet all day in a school library with a cement floor. These could be 1/2 size longer, but they do the job they're supposed to do nicely. I overpronate and like the control the shoe provides.

VERY comfy, lots of support -
Okay, so this shoe does have an orthopedic look to it. But I'm used to wearing running shoes, so they may look even clunkier to me. However, they are extremely supportive and comfortable. And that's what matters in this case.
I am a nursing student with Morton's neuroma as well as a fractured phalanx. My nursing shoes were killing me because they didn't have the support I needed. The white version was approved by my clinical instructor. These feel wonderful. I wear a wide and it is very roomy. If your foot is borderline between regular and wide, the regular may be just fine as it does have a roomy toe box. However, a truly wide foot such as mine will enjoy the freedom given in this shoe.
My podiatrist recommends New Balance, so I have several pairs. These are comparable in size to my others, but are roomier through the toes, though I'm thinking it's height as much as width.
Not stylish and "pretty", but functional, comfortable and worth the price for this student.
Zappos, as always, rocks with their wonderful service and delivery!

I wear a 7.5 or an 8, and always order workout type shoes in 8. They seemed to be that size, but also a bit wider than B (med) but not too wide. There was minimal arch support and sole is like a block of wood - no contours, just flat. They went back mainly because of the flimsy insole and not enough arch support.

Good for walking--NOT Good for standing -
I ordered these shoes for work--I am an ICU nurse and stand for 12 hour shifts. I also have a bunion on one foot so the wide width helps with that; however my feet are killing me at the end of my shift with these shoes. The cushioning of the foot does not seem to be enough for standing all day. They are good for walking though. My other NB running shoes are more comfortable for standing.

I had researched this shoe rather extensively as I have plantar fasciitis with VERY thin feet and VERY high arches. Size 9 appeared to be too small particularly across the toe box stitching. 9 1/2 appeared to be too large. The orthopedic doctor took one look at them and said that they were too big overall in width and length even though they were 2A, which is the narrowest.

This shoe looks great but has a seam on the right side of the right shoe that rubs on my foot. I had it stretched and tried a soft foam pad and bought thick socks but nothing keeps it from rubbing and making my foot red and sore. I can only wear them a couple hours and then off they come.

Disappointed - Let me begin by saying I have terrible feet and I have had problems with my feet for about 5 years. After walking in these shoes for one hour I was in pain, my left foot did not have enough of an arch support and my right foot had metatarsal pain. New Balance makes good shoes, I just have very bad feet. If you have problem feet, I would not recommend these.

Love the support. Have purchased this shoe before; however, for some reason, this pair seems a wee bit short in length.

Ugly shoe & NOT comfortable like the 925!
New Balance phased out the 925 & this "replacement" does not compare. It's ugly & uncomfortable. It may be designed as a motion control shoe, but the insole is as hard as a rock. I returned them.

New Balance WW926 aren't holding up well -
I bought these shoes just 3 months ago and noticed today that there is a hole already worn through the lining of the shoe in the back of the heel. I am not pleased- I planned to take them on a trip this summer, and bought them well ahead because I have such a hard time buying shoes. Now I am afraid that by the summer the small hole will have grown to the point that it irritates my foot. The heels do slip a bit but not excessively, I thought. I was satisfied enough with the shoes before (though not ecstatic- they are ugly and as I said, they do slip a bit) but now I am going to have to look for something else- I wouldn't get these again.

Not that comfortable, I don't get it...
Everyone was saying how much cushioning and support these shoes have and what great arch support, so I was pretty psyched to order these. I was sorely disappointed and at that price, too. I was almost shocked. I felt like the inside of this shoe was actually pretty hard and there wasn't much arch support. I like the look of them, so that's too bad, but it's back to the drawing board for me. I am just looking for comfortable, supportive shoes to walk the dog and for the treadmill and I thought New Balance would be right for me, but so far, for the price, these are pretty disappointing. I'm going to keep looking.
