Wear a 9 shoe (sneakers). Read reviews and went with a 38. Too short in toe area. Returning and will order the 39.

After flip flops left me with tendonitis and plantar fasciitis last summer, I refused to wear sandals with poor support this season. I wasn't sure about this style, but liked it much better than the traditional Birks. These were beautiful on! Wore them with everything this summer. I am a woman who appreciates good style, but never felt that I sacrificed style while wearing these. My feet and ankles were very happy.

I have osteoarthritis and needed TLC for my feet and found it with these shoes. They will become my year-round shoes.

If you have never worn Birk's, it may take a few days (and 2 not painful blisters) to break them in. I have plantar fascia and my feet feel great in these shoes. They have a very high arch. I just purchased a second pair! (GO DOWN A SIZE.)

Amazing shoes! Have not worn anything else since I bought them. It took about a week to break in the toe part, but after that they are pure comfort.

I have worn Birkenstocks and Birkis for over 25 years. They are the only shoes that are comfortable for my feet. I bought a pair of these Giji style yesterday because they were so cute and I thought they could be worn with a skirt or dress, as well as with slacks. I walked around my home and the thong between my toes almost made me lame. I was thinking they just needed to be broken in, but after reading the first review, I am returning my first pair of Birkenstocks. I cannot pay almost so much for shoes that are excruciatingly uncomfortable.

I admit, the older I get the more I like comfort - and this sandal offers that and more. I find that I can walk longer without foot fatigue. It took a bit of getting used to the look on my foot, but in the end - my comfort won.

Shoes are so comfortable yet fashionable. Walked many miles in Spain in these - no blisters, no achy feet. Plus I could wear them with a dress as well as jeans.

I LOVE these shoes. This is my first pair of Birkenstocks in almost 20 years and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. I bought them for traveling and walking around the city and I find myself slipping them on to do random stuff around the house. They are just that comfortable, offer plenty of support and a pain free back after walking all day long. They took a little getting use to, I had a little bit of soreness on my shins initially but wow, so worth the breaking-in process. They style is great, too; modern hippy is what I like to call it. They look great with a maxi dress or cuffed jeans and a t-shirt. I won't be without a pair anytime soon.

Even if you think you are not a Birkenstock person I defy you to not like these sandals. Aside from the fact that Birks simply are the most comfortable shoes you will ever own, they find a way; more than any other shoe I own, to literally go with everything. These sandals in particular have a cool Grecian style while staying true to the Birkenstock aesthetic. I promise you these shoes will fast become a staple in your everyday wardrobe.

I wanted to like these so badly! I love the style, I love them on other people and everyone I know loves their Birks! But word to the wise, exactly as I was concerned, they are not made for those of us with long toes. I pretty much have fingers on my feet and have always been concerned about the ridge on the foot bed. Sure enough, my toes/toenails rub up against that stiff ridge. you might think it is my big toes but no…..it is my second and third toes that are the problem. for those of you with normal feet, you have no idea how lucky you are! I so wish these would have worked!

Good fit - just what I was looking for. Need a bit of softening up, but it's the support I need.

It's is nice shoe. However, according to the size chart a 34 should have been 8.18" to 8.37" in length. It was 9.5" in length.

I wear flip flops with the strap between the toe a lot and these rubbed a blister on both of my feet. However, once my foot got used to them, their super comfortable. I wore them all week on a school trip to Charleston, with lots of walking, and they were great!

I have regular Arizona Birkenstocks that I love. I really like the look of these but felt they were a little too narrow (my foot ran up on the sides a bit) and a little too short (my foot hit the rubber/plastic thong piece hard when walking). I loved the color and they seem well made as other Birkenstocks are. The plastic piece might not be as uncomfortable in a larger size. I love wearing (good) flip flops so I didn't think that would bother me but it just wasn't comfortable in my regular size.

After reading reviews, I went with a size 39 (I am usually size 9 or 9.5 in US sizing and have wider feet). They are the perfect length. I have pretty flat feet after two pregnancies, and so breaking these in has made my arches a little sore. However, after a few days they have gotten much more comfortable. The Birkibuc material looks a little cheaper than the leather, but it's very soft and is definitely growing on me. These are more for comfort than fashion, and overall I'm really happy with the purchase.

Love these! Been wanting for years finally after having some feet leg issues I decided to buy. They of course take a little bit to break in, I wore only for hour or two everyday around the house for about a week then started wearing a little longer. Still can’t quite go an entire day in them but half a day. Don’t go by the size chart, just add 30 to your us size. So I’m a 9 I got a 39. Chart says to get a 40 which would be way to big. Can adjust the strap to make it fit. They are starting to get comfortable and I know soon they will be great. Not my last pair of birks!

Nice shoe, but definitely will take some breaking in. However, claims are that it's worth it. Unfortunately, I think I need a narrow.

I've been in love with these since Day 1! Wear all the time...bought in March and now in July the cork at the spot where toes and forefoot meet has split! It's as though any bending of the foot has caused the shoes to break! Yes, I can find at store, send them off, pay to fix but hello, I've only had these shoes like 3 months!

These were a little big and weren't the exact color I was looking for. I ended up returning the 40's for a 39 and a darker brown color. But all in all I still love the shoe.

They felt great on my feet & were the correct size. The style I didn't like so much though! They look strange on my feet, unfortunately they don't make my old favorites anymore in my size, 35.
