I ordered these shoes for my wife. I have had good luck with Keen Targhees and thought she would also. She loves the shoes, they fit her well, the traction in snow is good and she even likes the colors. As usual great Zappos service

I first bought these boots from REI. A sales person suggested a 7 1/2. They felt tight, but he said the boots run large. I usually wear an 8, but I thought he was right. I was in a hurry and took the smaller size. I didn't listen to my feet. After wearing the boots around the house I was in agony. My friend told me to order the size 8 from Zappos. I'm so happy I did! These boots are wonderful! They are waterproof, which is something important to me now that my friend and I are into hiking a lot. Not to mention the ankle support is also a must. I didn't have to break in the boots and we went on a 10 mile hike with no blisters. My feet were very tired! The only one issue I have was the small peeling that is on the rubbery toe area when I kicked a rock while climbing. I'm not sure if the rubber part is going to peel more, but I'm hoping it won't. These are the first pair of Keens so I can't say I've had them for years and years. I do use other insoles, but my feet have always wanted good support there. Another thing I do like are the laces. I don't have to double knot them like my other boots. I'm hoping the 5 star I'm giving will be correct. So far, so good.

Excellent boots. Comfortable from the first wearing. If they last well, I would certainly buy another pair.

First of all, my first Zappos experience was great. The woman I spoke with was friendly and helpful. Thanks. Secondly, my Keen Targhee II Mid boots are great! I received them on Tuesday and left for a trip to New York, then China the next day. I wore them for the next 10 days through airports, parks, temples, factories, institutes, marketplaces, city streets, and more. We took plane rides, bus rides, Maglev rides, pedicab rides. I walked the Great Wall! My boots were comfortable every day. My feet never got wet despite the pouring rain on several days. I wear a size 8.5 and ordered a 9. The boots just fit with lightweight wool socks.

I just received the Targhee II Mid in the monument/iguana color. I didn't buy these to go hiking. I just need extremely good support and walking any distance at all is my goal. I had foot surgery 8 months ago for a posterior tibialis tendon repair with a tendon transfer. I had a split in my tendon after teaching aerobics for 18 years. I also have extremely flat pronated feet. I have a tear in the tendon in the other foot, as well, and I am trying to avoid more surgery. Well, I have to tell you that I can already tell a huge difference just walking around the house that these shoes are going to change my life! My orthotics fit perfectly inside. My ankles feel supported, and the pain in my feet seems to have vanished! I will need to wear them quite a bit more to be sure, but so far so much better. Ahhh. Relief. I also love the color. They make my feet look smaller.

Like the Keens with my superfeet. Great shoes. My previous hiking shoes, Vasque, did not make the Grand Canyon 26 mile hike. I have yet to really push these shoes, but bought on the reviews.

I took this boot out of the box and wore it immediately on a 30 mile backpacking trip in Yosemite National Park. They were comfortable, didn\'t over heat my feet and provided the support my feet needed over the rough terrain found on Rock Slide trail.

Excellent for trekking. I wore these shoes for trekking around Switzerland and I cannot stop raving about them. There was no need to break them in; I just threw them on my feet straight from the box. I normally wear a size 6 or 6.5, but purchased these in a 7 since I knew I would be wearing thick, warm socks with them. The 7 was a perfect fit for me. Also, my feet are very flat and it is hard for me to find any comfortable shoes. I would give these shoes 10 stars in comfort if I could. The duration of my trip was mostly in rain or snow, but my feet were always happy, warm, dry and gripped walking surfaces just fine. No need to look elsewhere. Buy these shoes and only buy from Zappos!

These hiking boots are great. I haven't owned them long, but I have hard to fit feet and these have the extra room in the toe box that I need. I had to order a size up in American numbering (10.5 v 9.5), but the European sizing (41) was true to size (as it always seems to be). Love 'em!

These are the best shoes, I bought them for work as I am on my feet all day and I do work around water, I am a dog groomer, and my feet stay dry, I can stand for hours at a time and no pain, and I look good doing it, I have two pairs of these in different colors, my last pairs as I wear a different pair every day, lasted me 5 years, great boots, and Zappos is the best, next day air shipping! it gets no better then this. Thanks Zappos. Thanks Keen

These boots were comfortable right out of the box. I ordered a size 11, since most reviewers suggested ordering up. I normally wear a 10, but the 11 is just right for my feet. The toe box is roomy, and the support is good. I went on a 3 mile hike the first time I wore them, with no discomfort. I highly recommend them for people who have trouble finding shoes that fit properly.

Once again, a great shoe! Comfy from the first day I put them on. Lightweight. They do run a 1/2 size smaller. If you like your shoes with a little extra room, I would suggest going a full size larger.

Amazing out of box comfort and performance. Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot. Cons: None. Best uses: All Weather Conditions, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain. Comments about Keen Targhee II Mid Hiking Boots - Women's: Just got back from the Alps where I hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) 107 mile Mountain trail wearing my Keen Targhee II Mids every step of the way. These boots were so comfortable and all around able in every aspect that one summarizing word kept coming to mind when thinking about the shoes performance - fantastic! Immediately comfortable, I wore these boots for a total of about ten miles of hiking prior to putting foot to the trail on the TMB with full confidence that the product would take care of me without biting back. That is, no blisters. Confidence rewarded, neither I nor my hiking companion who was also wearing Targhee II's had one blister during the entire seriously descending and ascending trail. The waterproof capabilities of the shoe were better than any other boot I've ever worn. That is, no soak through when passing through dewy grass and no water penetration when crossing shallow stream beds. Water ran over the top of my forefoot resulting in no water inside the shoe. Very nice! I wore Smartwool PhD lt. hiking socks for the majority of the trip and the shoe/sock paring was great. As has become my practice on long-distance hiking outings, when I stop for a rest, snack or simply to take in a stunning view, I take off my shoes and socks to let my feet and footwear breathe and dry out a bit before continuing. When doing so I did find that my shoes and socks were wet with perspiration, but my feet never felt any negative effects from this. With hundreds of mountain backpacking miles on my feet, I highly recommend this method of removing your hiking boots as described previously. Like others have described, I did move up one half size to fit this boot well. The shoes grip well on all terrain and the larger toe bumper offers nice protection on the trail. The shoelaces were just the right length and I appreciated that the type of shoelace Keen used stayed tightly tied for each day's hike. The shoes show less-than-average wear for the miles and type of terrain crossed. Highly recommend this boot.

I spent about four months trying to find a comfortable pair of hiking boots. I mostly do long day trips at Bear Mountain or in the Adirondacks. After searching for a long time (ordering and returning from Zappos), I settled on these. I have another pair of boots from another manufacturer that are stiffer and more supportive, but they fully cover my ankle and go up my calf a little bit. After a few hours of hiking, the outsides of both legs were in so much pain that my husband had to cut slits in the boots so I could finish. These Keen boots cover my ankles, but don't go up so high, so I don't have that problem. They were comfortable immediately. They are wider in the toe, which is good for me. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 shoe; my boots are a 10. I read a number of other reviews in which people report that they have worn these boots on the Inca Trail, and I am planning on doing the same in August. They look nice, too.

I wore these on 4-day Inca Trail hike in Peru. Did not have one problem with my feet the entire time. And only wore them a few times to break them in prior to the trip. Very, very comfortable. Bought a 1/2 size larger. Highly recommend!

Just received these boots and they seem very comfortable; I think I will love them like I do the Newport sandal and boot. I ordered an 8.5 to compensate for hiking socks, but returned them for a 9.5. They allow for the thickness of the sock. Unusual size for my usual 7.5-8 sized feet. Thank you Zappos for lightening speed delivery.

I can't say I look at these shoes and think "they're so cute!" but most of the reviews I've read did say they were comfortable. So I ordered a pair. I usually wear an 8.5 (New Balance and Merrells) but in these I ordered up a half size and my toes touched the end of the shoe which I wasn't going to endure so I went to a 9.5 and they fit. For me the Targhee with the extra stuff in the shoe to make it waterproof also made it smaller-as I have since bought the Keen voyageur and it is plenty big in a size 9. I will say for traction this is the BEST shoe I've ever worn. Walking up steep mtn slopes on wet grass and loose rocky soil. I've always bought shoes with toe bumpers which on other brands came unglued. I haven't had these Keen's long enough to report on that. This will be the only shoe I buy from now on and my toes are very happy about that.

My first pair of Keens. Does run .5 size small, but I knew this so mine fit perfectly. Definitely waterproof over the toe. They broke in fairly quickly and have a strong sole. Good height for someone who wants higher than a sneaker, but not too tall. I’m a big fan.

I ordered these shoes 1/2 size larger than my normal size and they fit perfectly. They are extremely comfortable and really cute. I have had a difficult time with comfort in other more expensive shoes and am thrilled with how cozy these are. Would definitely order more Keen boots/shoes.

I read the reviews and bought a half size bigger and well, it is a little too big. But these are very comfortable, terrific hiking shoes, spent a day in the woods with them, and felt great!

Keen Targhee II Mid -
If you wear a 6 1/2 normal shoe size, but wear a 7 in a Newport H2, you will need a 7 1/2 if you wear a medium weight sock with this shoe.
I ordered the 7 and my toe hit the front edge of the shoe. I ordered the 7 1/2.

I love these boots!!
I love these boots. I tried 6 other pair of hiking boots also. These and the Merrill Moab Ventilator were the only ones that were comfortable right away. I decided on the Keens because they were more weather resistant.
The first time I wore these, they were even more comfortable at the end of my hike than they were the beginning. Which is really unusual for me, because my feet tend to blister and get sore the first time I wear new shoes. But these feel awesome! I love them!! I've worn them a few times now. Today was able to see if they are really water proof. They are!

Any Keens. I have 7 pair now, and love them!

Great fit -
I wore these for an entire day immediately and they felt great and so did my feet at the end of the day. I took the advice of others and ordered a half size larger than usual. It worked.
