I wanted a waterproof shoe to take to the Alaska wilderness, and these looked similar to my favorite hiking sneakers - the Keen Voyager. The footbed felt great, just like my Keen Voyagers. However, I felt uncomfortable with the high top and the shoes generally felt a bit clunky to me, so I am returning these Keen Targhee II Mid and planning to see if the lowtop Targhee will work. I generally wear a size 8 to 8-1/2, B, but for these I ordered a 9 M, and the fit was perfect.

My last pair of Keen hiking boots lasted 10 years before the soles “fell off” during a hike. They are very comfortable and have a nice thick sole to support a hike on rough terrain. Plenty of room in the toe box and the heel can be adjusted with a pull tab on the back and sides.

bought in january, writing this in april. i have worn these on most days since i purchased them and i LOVE them. Wide toe box, excellent arch support (and i have issues with arch pain after hours on my feet as a nurse), easy on and easy off, good grips, and snappy colors (gargoyle and caribbean blue). i am purchasing another pair as i have been wearing these for hiking and every day use, and i wold like a pair for indoor/everyday use in a different color. excellent value for the price.

The boots are very well made,but they were a little too clunky for me. I ordered a half size larger and they were still too small. The ankle padding felt stiff, so I'm sure there would be a break in period. I decided not to exchange for a larger size because I thought they would just be too big overall.

I bought a pair of TargheeII lastsummer & loved them. i have very wide feet, this was the first pr of boots/shoes for work & play I had been able to wear in many years. too bad the company can no longer afford to make these boots or any wide boots for woman. The soft toes workboot has a narrow toe box, however the voyageur runs wide & seems to be just like the Targhee II wide. So ladies if your frustrated with Keen for being the wide width boot company who isn't anymore try the voyegeur while they last.

This is a very small shoe. In dress shoes, I usually wear an 8.5. In running and hiking shoes, I can sometimes go up to a 9.5. In these, I needed a 10! I got the wife and on the first wearing, am not completely sure they’re wide enough. The jury is out.

Although the fit is great and I'm able to swap out the insole with another, true to other reviews this boot does not grip to slippery surfaces. It's great for average trails but I wouldn't trust the in the rain or any slippery surface, i.e. river boulders wet or dry.

I've been wearing keen Targhee boots for a long time and this was my first time trying on the targhee ii. Previously I wore a 9.5. I bought both the 9 and 9.5. The 9.5 felt too narrow in the front of the foot, I think because the sizing was off. The 9 felt closer to the right size but a hair tight so I returned them both.

This is my second pair of Keen Targhee II's. I love this boot so much I contacted Keen and sent them pictures of my last pair of boots to ensure I purchased exactly the same boot. I have hiked 20 miles with these boots through road and grass surfaces, up and down hills, in all types of weather and have had no issues. I hiked a mountain through a rainforest in the Caribbean, with rugged terrain, water, large boulders to climb over, narrow paths with severe drop offs, and areas requiring steep step ups where your feet needed to balance on small roots and these boots were fantastic. Can't recommend them enough. I did order the 8, and normally wear a 7 1/2 so I would order up a size.

My first hike with these boots was 8 miles up grandfather mountain and back down . The train was steep rocky with lots of creeks to cross. Great support my feet were dry virtually no breaking in to do. And bonus they're really cute

Nice looking boot, but too wide for my foot and not enough arch support (reviews said otherwise, but I don't feel it).

i liked this shoe a lot, except that it was too small. As suggested by the reviews, I ordered a half size larger than usual. Now I am returning that shoe and will reorder a whole size larger than usual.

I bought these boots for a trip to Iceland in May and absolutely love them. They look great and took no time to break in. I wore them walking my dog for a couple days and they felt broken in after that. The booths were warm but not hot, did great for hiking 1-3 hours daily, and performed well in rainy conditions. I also walked in wet rocks in a stream and was surprised at that the grip on these shoes worked so well. Will definitely use these for many years to come! They are also nicely lightweight, but not quite as light as my husband's non-leather Keens.

My second pair! I wore the first pair until they completely fell apart after three years of vigorous use hiking n mtn biking. Fit my flintstone feet perfectly! I do use a superfeet insole as the arch support is not adequate for my high arches

I thought I would need a longer break in time, but I didn't. These shoes were comfortable from the get go. I did a few shorter hikes before my longer 9-hour hike, and the shoes were perfect. I have wide flat feet and like to have toe wiggle room so ordering a half size up was perfect. The insole is removable for your own inserts, and there's enough space for a padded insole in case you want even more cushion. I feel confident and comfortable on my hikes with these boots.

Once again, Keen has made a crazy comfortable shoe. A toe box that your toes can relax and feel comfortable in, and yet your heel and ankle stay in place. The grip and traction will be great on hikes and I can't wait to get these on the mountain.

I wear a 9.5, and I bought a 9.5. I've hiked in about three pairs of boots and these are the most comfortable I've owned. I'm due for a seven mile hike in the North Georgia mountains in June, and I've been wearing them around when I get home from work with padded wool socks. 91 degrees today, but the comfort level is so amazing that I'm not worried. Three days of backcountry near shoals!

These are amazing!! I was hesitant to buy the mid height version but I'm really glad I did. My feet/ankles feel very secure in them. They were extremely comfortable out of the box and didn't require any breaking in. I usually wear a 7.5-8 and ordered both sizes and went with the 8.

I just wasn't really crazy about these. They have good support but they aren't very flexible and they feel very, very clunky on my size 10 feet. I ordered 10.5 based on reviews, and an 11 would probably have worked as well. I ended up going with the Keen Terradorra and I really like them!

When I woke up this morning and my feet didn't hurt after wearing the Targhee Mids all day yesterday, I knew I had to write a review. These fit unlike any other boots I own, in that they tighten in the center of the foot, and neither your toes nor your heel even touch the boot so there's no rubbing. I ordered a half size up as suggested and wear them with moisture-wicking socks as well. I have a high arch, and these boots supported me so well that I didn't feel any foot fatigue, and my back didn't hurt either (which is common after being on my feet all day). The large toe box gives my toes room to stretch out, and thus far I've avoided breaking the middle toenail on both feet as I have every other time I'm on my feet for long periods. Probably the best boot I've ever purchased, all thanks to the great reviews here.

I ordered these because I need a waterproof hiking boot for rainy days. These don't keep my feet dry even on less than a one mile walk in mild rain and no puddles. They do fine when it's not raining and there are shallow puddles, but I need them to do well in the rain. If they don't stay dry in a short time in mild rain, then they are useless for anything in a regular steady rain. Wish I could return them but I've worn them.

These boots are such a great surprise! Buying any kind of shoes or boots has always been a nightmare due to a wide foot, narrow heel and bunions. When they arrived I put them on with the usual amount of skepticism, anticipating discomfort and wondering how much I could live with, my usual decision making process when it comes to my feet. These boots are truly comfortable! There is plenty of toe room, heel fits snug, they are very light, but very stable feeling and I have NO PAIN! Also, extra care has been taken to construct a smooth, comfortable interior, without seams and bumps that can rub those hard working feet. I love these boots!

These boots are amazing! I took them on a recent trip to Hawaii and used them on a number of hikes without breaking them in first... I was concerned I might end up with blisters but they fit like a glove from day one and have fantastic cushioning and support. The fact that they're waterproof too is an added bonus... new favorite hiking boots!

Thank heavens someone makes a boot for women with somewhat wide feet. In regular shoes I don't usually wear a wide, but it can be darn close at times. Many women boots I tried(Ahnu Sugarpine, Vasque) were a little too narrow for my feet. These give me some welcome wiggle room for toes sideways and up and down (toe box area). I've not had them out on the trail yet but am optimistic. I agree with the advice to size up a half size - in running shoes I am a 10.5 regular, but in these I liked an 11.
