Highly recommend for flat footed people. This is the only hiking boot I have found that give good support for my foot with plenty of room in the toe box. I have tried many. just bought another Keen low cut hiking boot and it does not disappoint.

Once again size 8 is what I need in Keen to fit my usual size 7 foot. Great arch support as usual in Keen and truly a cute shoe. I don't hike, I walk around only, and have great difficulty in finding comfortable walking shoes that aren't canvas looking athletic shoes. I have wide front foot due to bunions, high arch and instep but not the highest out there. I have just gotten the Targhee II shoe and wanted to try the boot. The boot however is just enough too narrow on my right foot that I know it will not be comfortable with walking a lot. I like the 2" heel height in the Targhees because they work with the length I normally wear my flared street jeans. The brown color I ordered is beautiful, much more so than the pix shows it to be. It is a softer brown than the picture on Zappos, at least on my computer. I really do have praises for Keen -- BUT, why the too short shoe laces? The cute, colorful laces reallly add to the appearance of their shoes but I am barely able to tie any of mine! I know you hikers don't care as its total functionality for you--but these are my shopping and traveling jean and plaid shirt shoes.

I have a short, wide foot and a high arch. Buying shoes is usually a chore, verging on a nightmare as i try on shoe after shoe after shoe that pinches and pokes and does not fit all my idiosyncrasies. i purchased these boots the winter before last, and have practically lived in them for the past 18 months. I have purchased another pair in a different shade to keep for "messy" hikes and icky weather. I have used these boots in summer and winter. Super fit with a wide toe box; the medium width fits my wide little foot and no heel rubbing. I usually wear Wigwam hiking socks with the, but I have also worn regular ankle socks with them during the summer and they still feel secure on my foot. Love my boots.

I initially ordered a half size larger than my actual shoe size because the reviews advised me so. They ended up feeling too large and clunky. Maybe I just like a snug shoe? Whatever the reason, I shipped them back (which Zappos makes ridiculously easy) and ordered the next size smaller and they had it on my doorstep in a flash. Without even an initial break in periods, these shoes went right to work doing roughly 15 miles a day over very rugged trails, boulder fields, cobble beaches, slippery, algae-coated, granite outcroppings and crazy-steep hiking paths for 7 days in Acadia National Park. My feet loved them. They had great grip, support across the mid-foot while boulder-hopping, water resistance through some shallow streams and breath ability through some heat throughout the whole day. I loved them. I will buy the new edition of these when these wear out, which probably wont be too soon because they hold us to all that Mt Desert Island and I cold dish up on them so far.

I’ve lost count on how many of these shoes I’ve owned in the last three years. Part of the year I work outdoors doing heavy hiking, no trails, 4 days a week. They are very comfortable but they don’t last long. I typically buy between 1-3 pairs a year because the sole of the shoe does not last. The soft foamy portion chunks out easily and then the hard rubber begins to flap. I’ve had my most recent pair for three weeks of field work and have already lost a big chunk. I’ve tried other boots but Keen seems to be the only shoe that accommodates my long toes without any crushing or pain. They are very comfortable especially for people with long/wide toes but are not well suited for heavy off trail hiking.

Utah has some really great trails that require a hardier boot instead of just trail shoes. I love my Keens. They have great ankle support and they are comfortable for me. Any time we do a hard hike, these are my only heavier set of hiking boots

I tried these based on other great reviews. I wanted a pair of comfortable hiking boots for light to moderate activity on a vacation. I bought them in my standard size, but they felt very short & too wide. They also felt clunky to me.

I ordered a half size up as suggested by several reviewers, but I should have just ordered my size. This is actually my second pair of these boots. I loved them for years, but once I got pregnant, my feet grew and stayed bigger. Thanks for Zappos for making returns easy.

The material is a little more stiff than some of my other Keen boots, but still comfortable. These are waterproof which is nice for the occasional muddy puddle. Not ideal however for crossing a stream as the water can easily seep into the opening along the side of the tongue. Color is "okay" but looks a little worn after just a couple of days.

Great shoe! Perfect from the moment I put them on. Tried them out while camping this weekend and they were comfortable and provided great ankle support.

I purchased these shoes about six years ago and have worn them for a couple of weeks a year when on vacation. They are comfortable shoes that offer support for hiking and walking on uneven terrain however the seems tend to unstick. This is the second pair of keen shoes I've owned and it tends to happen quiet frequently. Great shoe but expect the seems to come off with some use.

I ordered three different pairs of hiking boots after reading a lot of reviews. These were very comfortable. Ultimately I ended up returning and ended up with Merrill. Mostly because I found them for a better price or I'd have kept these.

While I agree with the reviews that say these run a bit narrower than your usual Keens (which are perfect for my wide-ish feet), I did not need a half size up. I ended up having to send back the size 9 pair to exchange for my usual 8.5. I wish they were Keen's usually perfect width; these are a bit snug across the bridge but already fitting better with two days of wear. They are great for cold weather - just wore them for 1 1/2 hours of snowshoeing and my feet were toasty when I got home.

Fit was good but the arch support strange.Support was on the outside of the arch and NO support on the inside of the arch. Made my foot feel like my ankles were pushing inwards.Too bad cuz it was a cute boot.

Love these boots! So far have just worn them for errands and a short walk. With one pair of merino wool socks, they are comfortable. Roomy in the toe box. Make sure to go up in size. Thank you Zappo's, for letting me try a few pairs of boots til I got it right.

I usually wear a 9 in Keens, but reading the reviews I ordered a 9.5 and was glad I did because I needed the extra length in these boots. Great hiking boots, very comfortable and lightweight.

I LOVED these shoes-- in the past. When I looked down and realized my shoe was falling apart, I immediately went to order another pair, as the fit (I need a wide toe box, and these shoes have been excellent for that). Then I realized that, although the first pair lasted for two years of heavy hiking, this last pair had lasted less than a year-- and, as I'd had hip problems, I'd done very little hiking during that time. Zappos person was very nice, and said that with normal wear and tear, shoes are expected to last...six months. ... The rip was on the side of the foot, not the bottom, so with normal wear and tear they just...disintegrate, I guess? I figured it was just my wanting things to last forever-- phones, computers, etc., and ordered another pair, as they were just the right fit for my foot. BUT, when I got the shoes-- they were obviously narrower than in the past. I thought, maybe they sent the wrong shoe? Nope. Same size as always. I thought perhaps it's just my eyes? So, I got out a ruler, and tape, and measured across the widest part. It was 1/4" smaller on the new shoe. I am broken hearted. I live far, far away from the nearest shoe store, and I am hoping, with my hip healed, to do more hiking-- but 140 bucks for a shoe that is only expected to last six months? And a shoe that is apparently being made to save some money, now, by reducing the size? ... I'm not sure what my next move will be. Zappos has always been awesome to deal with, but if the quality is this bad, I can't afford to keep buying these... :(

Love these boots however the pair that was mailed to me has a defective piece of leather in the toe of the left boot. It was too big to ignore hence the reason I am returning them.

I had these before and they wore out. I loved them. But when I ordered new ones, the size 8.5 was too small and size 9 was too big. They are not all that comfortable. Unfortunately I have to return them.

I had been wearing an old pair of hiking boots the previous weekend and hiked about 5 miles, and mangled my little toes as well as my bunion. Clearly my feet had changed in the last 5 years and I needed a new pair. I found this pair as a highly ranked model and decided I should try it out. I was a little apprehensive about the "medium" width because I have a bunion on the left foot, which requires me to buy wider shoes lately. My feet have also grown somewhat larger and I have been ordering 8 or 81/2 shoe size in sneakers. So I decided to order the size 9 hiking shoes, to allow for thick hiking socks. As soon as the new pair arrived, I put it on for my evening 1-mile walk with the dog. It was very comfortable, sturdy and supportive. After a couple of days, I wore the pair for my weekend morning hike, 5 miles one day and 6 miles the next. I walked on paved trails but the recent rains created puddles and muddy slippery stretches, which I negotiated safely, and comfortably. My feet have been very comfortable, yet supported in the arch and the ankle area. I am very pleased: this is the best pair I have ever worn! They are fairly lightweight and stylish enough to wear around parks and restaurants.

Compared to my Keen sandals that are a 9. I ordered a 9.5 to give extra room for a thick sock. exchanged for size 10 with a thick sock it’s absolutely perfect the padding around the ankle gives outstanding support and comfort not to mention the always comfortable Keen Sole. This is an Out of box comfort No breaking in needed.
