My husband and I were planning a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii and I needed a sturdy, yet comfortable pair of hiking boots as we were going to hike to the 61G lava flow at Volcanoes National Park. I came upon these on Zappos and I have to say that these boots were awesome!!! After 11 miles (and I didn't even break them in prior) they kept my feet comfortable (not one blister!) and provided great support. The lava field was especially challenging terrain as lava can be very sharp and uneven. Despite all this, these boots did exceptionally well. No damage at all, except lots of dust. I highly recommend this hiking boot.

These don't run big like the reviews say. I went up half a size and then had to exchange them for my normal size. Great boots. Keens are the best. You can stomp around in comfort for years in them.

I'm on my third pair of these boots. They are great for wider feet and provide solid sturdy support for long day hikes over rough terrain. Get at least a half size larger so you can wear medium to thick wool socks. For an even wider boot, I recommend the Keen Voyageur Mid (which alas are not waterproof).

Great shoe! I did have to go up a half size to fit comfortably. But super comfortable out of the box. I've been wearing them around to run errands and such and for walking to break them in and I've had no issues! Highly recommend them!

They say these shoes run a little small. My wife ordered a half size bigger and the shoes fit her perfectly. They performed well and have excellent support. The shoes felt and look good and did not need a break in period.

I have purchased this shoe for a number of years and since Keen switched countries of manufacture to include Thailand and Vietnam,I have noticed a significant change. The toe and instep is not as wide. Also, I have had to size up nearly a full size so that I can wear these shoes with thicker hiking socks. I am not impressed with the workmanship either. The shoes are stiffer, less comfortable and there are messy bits of dried glue left behind on the rubber toe. My last pair of Keen hikers only lasted a year before I noticed the rubber lugs on the bottom of the sole wearing down too much. If Keen is out there reading this review, please do something about making sure that proper standards of manufacturing are being followed so that measurements and materials are consistent. Keen's are not worth spending a lot of money on for such poor manufacturing standards.

I purchased these boots in April 2016 and hiked in them all summer. I have a wide foot so the Keen is a perfect choice for me, even though they are sold as B width. I usually wear a 9.5W and had to go with a 10 in this boot. The toe box is roomy and the heel fits well. That said, I now wear a mid-weight wool sock instead of the lightweight (Smartwool) that I'd been wearing with my previous boots. Now that it is winter I have worn these boots hiking and snowshoeing and am just as happy with their performance as I was during the summer months. I am buying a second pair now because I am concerned that this model won't be available when it is necessary to replace them when they wear out!

I bought these for my first trip to the Catskills for a late fall hike. I didn't wear them in before taking them out on the rocky path and they feel just fine. They were very comfortable and kept me dry for the few streams I had to walk through. The arch support was great as well as the high ankle. I'm very prone to rolling my ankle is no matter what I do and these kept me sprain free! My feet were tired by the end of the two hour hike but I'm sure it's because these are very new shoes and have yet to be warn in. A lot of people say that these are not waterproof which makes sense because they have to be breathable also. Don't hike them through a river or deep snow because your feet will get wet and cold. They are best suited for small streams and moderate rain.

I've had these boots for well over a year now. They required no breaking in and have been comfortable since my first hike. I've worn these boots while hiking through Colorado and Utah and have submerged them fully in water while hiking the Narrows. I was pleased because they seemed to dry out quickly thereafter. I haven't worn these in icy conditions so I'm not sure how they'd perform, but will update this review when I do. Can't go wrong with these boots!

Although the shoes run small, if you buy half a size larger they are perfect. I do a lot of walking and hiking and they are extremely comfortable. I have a wide foot, especially in the front and these fit very well. I'm on my fourth pair of Keens, having worn out the other three. They require zero breaking in and are extremely comfortable and durable. The only concern is that the soles do not grip well on wet rock so you have to be careful. I would not wear them for mountain climbing but they are great for day hikes.

Great shoe. Wore them in the Catskills right out of the box. I'm usually a small 10 and tried both there 10 and 10.5. I kept the 10.5, the 10 was too small. Order a half size up! It wasn't rainy but there were streams. Boots kept me warm and dry.

This is my second pair, so I think that says it all. I wore my other ones out, lots of miles on them. I wear 8.5 in most Keen shoes, but I size up to 9 for my boots, and that works. I hiked 6 miles third time out, no issues with fit. I do use my orthotics in them, which works well for me. I really like this color , Raven/ Bossa Nova.

These shoes give good support, but they're very heavy and have a footbed that's quite hard. If the weight and footbed won't be a problem for you, they might be fine. There was much to love about these but, unfortunately, I need to return them.

Was happy to send back the 7.5 for an 8 prior to our trip. Unfortunately the right boot killed me. I literally shoved a can Koozie into the boot to protect three top right side of my foot. Not sure what the problem is. It's rubbing a bone or something. No issue with left boot.

I love love LOVE these boots. They are light but supportive and have good cushioning. I have wide toes and narrow heels and these are perfect. I had a pair of 8.5 and ordered them again but the new ones were big, so I had to go down to an 8. This is still my favorite boot. I put them on and walked 2 miles - comfortable right out of the box. My old ones are two years old and still usable but I wanted a new pair for hiking.

My daughter has owned 3 sets of this style of Keen and has been very happy with them. My husband has also owned the Targhee Mid II and says they're a great shoe. I had to get a pair of hiking shoes for a paleontological dig in the Plains of Montana and know the Keens to be a nice supportive shoe with room for a wide foot, which I need, so I bought them. I usually wear a 9 but I wanted to make sure they had the room for hiking rugged terrain so I got the 9.5 and they're perfect! They did exactly what I needed for getting over steep rocky ground, and tough enough to protect my feet from cacti, yucca, and other harsh vegetation. Never got a blister and I was in them for up to 8 hours per day for a solid week straight. LOVE KEENS

I absolutely love these Keen boots and I am very much satisfied with this purchase! I decided to buy these boots for work because I do tons of walking at the hospital and every other shoe that I have bought (Dansko, Alegria, Salomon, Merrell, etc) broke down within half a year! These boots did not need to be broken in, and is so comfortable for all day use. No blisters, no sore feet, and has tremendous amount of shock absorbent, too! I have wide feet, and these boots fit perfectly. I highly recommend these Keen boots!

i hiked the Peruvian Andes in these boots for two grueling weeks. They kept my feet well protected and were very comfortable even on the most rugged terrain. They run 1/2 size too small. I normally wear a 6.5 but the 7 was perfect.

These hiking boots are awesome! I've done 3 10+ mile hikes so far, in comfort and find great traction in loose rock/steepness. With ample toe room I can wear my medium weight hiking socks. Taking advice from other reviews, I ordered 1/2 larger. This is a very reasonable price for boots that will go many, many miles.

First of all, shipping took forever!! Guess Zappos has changed their policies since the days when I used to receive my order in 2 days. Now for free shipping it's about a week. That being said, I love these hiking boots. This order replaced my old pair. They fit your foot like you've been wearing them for months. We went on a hike right away! Very comfy.

Excellent fit. Trim is more green than blue. Ankle padding is more generous than any hiking boots I have previously tried. Sized up a half size just like running shoes to protect toes.

I've been seeking hiking boots for 5 years. My bunions have made buying shoes really difficult. I am so grateful for Zappos!. Keens have become my shoe of choice. I tried 3 styles of Keen hiking boots on and these were my favorites. I ended up keeping the pair that was a full size larger than my Keen water sandals. I wore them on a 6 mile hike in the Adirondacks right out of the box. Hallelujah! No blisters! Plenty of support! Love them!

I love the Keen brand and own many pairs. Reviews indicated to order a half size up - so I did. Unfortunately they were too big so I sent them back and got my regular size. Zappos service was as usual the best!
