The sizing is correct, but the footbed is arbritarily lumpy and does not work with my feet.

I have been wearing Keen brand hiking shoes and boots for many years now. I ordered these b/c of the great price, but when I put them on, they are very narrow in comparison to all my others, including the identical boots I am now wearing. I put them side by side, and they are noticeably narrower than my older pair. What gives Keen?????? Is this why they are on sale?? I will have to start searching out different brands now that are actually labeled as "wide". Good grief.

These DO NOT fit like my OLD Keen Targhee's. Other long time Keen wearers have written about this before: KEEN has changed certain shoes & boots that those of us with Wide Toes MISS!! The shape of the toe on the Targhee's has changed: it is more tapered vs "bulbous". I went up a 1/2 size: BUT then my heel DOES not stay snug in heel pocket!! My feet: Wide toes, narrow heels, and sort of bony feet with High Arch and a high instep. I tried everything to make them work (many insoles; different socks; 2 types of Heel Cups). Sadly these are going back!!!

Fit was good but the arch support strange.Support was on the outside of the arch and NO support on the inside of the arch. Made my foot feel like my ankles were pushing inwards.Too bad cuz it was a cute boot.

I had these before and they wore out. I loved them. But when I ordered new ones, the size 8.5 was too small and size 9 was too big. They are not all that comfortable. Unfortunately I have to return them.

This overall ran much larger and wider than the sizing. The styling and grips on the bottom were great though!

I have worn Keens for many years. I ordered these with the same expectation of the product. The left shoe was longer and wider than the right shoe. Neither shoe fit well. I have ordered this shoe for hiking in the past and totally wore them out. I am very disappointed I was looking forward to wearing the shoes. Your quality control needs improvement.

Sigh... I was really hoping these would be super comfortable out of the box, nope. These felt really boxy and wide but made my feet look stumpy. The cuff along the ankle was really stiff and uncomfortable. The color was really cute but these just weren't for my feet. Being returned.

Well, Zappos sent me an 8... in a plain brown box. But I did try half size up, only to find it is rather bulky looking, not very comfortable for someone with bunions even though it was recommended. The Keen Targhee just seem to run small.

These were comfortable hiking shoes, except for the toe. I bought a half size larger than my shoe size, but should have bought a full size larger.....hiking downhill in Zion was murder on my big toes. Not a problem with the shoe, just the shape of my feet. Something you can't tell about until you actually use them, then too late to return.

This is a very small shoe. In dress shoes, I usually wear an 8.5. In running and hiking shoes, I can sometimes go up to a 9.5. In these, I needed a 10! I got the wife and on the first wearing, am not completely sure they’re wide enough. The jury is out.

Although the fit is great and I'm able to swap out the insole with another, true to other reviews this boot does not grip to slippery surfaces. It's great for average trails but I wouldn't trust the in the rain or any slippery surface, i.e. river boulders wet or dry.

I just wasn't really crazy about these. They have good support but they aren't very flexible and they feel very, very clunky on my size 10 feet. I ordered 10.5 based on reviews, and an 11 would probably have worked as well. I ended up going with the Keen Terradorra and I really like them!

I have purchased this shoe for a number of years and since Keen switched countries of manufacture to include Thailand and Vietnam,I have noticed a significant change. The toe and instep is not as wide. Also, I have had to size up nearly a full size so that I can wear these shoes with thicker hiking socks. I am not impressed with the workmanship either. The shoes are stiffer, less comfortable and there are messy bits of dried glue left behind on the rubber toe. My last pair of Keen hikers only lasted a year before I noticed the rubber lugs on the bottom of the sole wearing down too much. If Keen is out there reading this review, please do something about making sure that proper standards of manufacturing are being followed so that measurements and materials are consistent. Keen's are not worth spending a lot of money on for such poor manufacturing standards.

These shoes give good support, but they're very heavy and have a footbed that's quite hard. If the weight and footbed won't be a problem for you, they might be fine. There was much to love about these but, unfortunately, I need to return them.

Was happy to send back the 7.5 for an 8 prior to our trip. Unfortunately the right boot killed me. I literally shoved a can Koozie into the boot to protect three top right side of my foot. Not sure what the problem is. It's rubbing a bone or something. No issue with left boot.

Super comfortable and great traction. BIG downside for me is that mud and manure cling to the soles like lovers spooning. I didn't realize this would be a problem.

Loved how it looked/felt but unfortunately it was at least a half size to a full size too small. And since I wear an 11 there was no bigger size. Too bad, I think it was going to be a great hiking boot.

Based on other reviews, I ordered a half size up. I bought these for a boy scout high adventure backpacking trip to the Black Hills. Wearing good wool socks, I got blisters on my toes on the shakedown. Wearing liner socks and good wool socks my toes blistered on the main trip. The upside, they are very waterproof. I stepped into a creek over the top of my foot and did not get wet feet.

I normally wear Merrell hikers, but after reading the reviews for this boot, I decided to give it a try. I wear a size 7 shoe, but I ordered an 8 which is my usual size hiker--width wise, they were perfect, unfortunately these were a hair too small. My toes were at the end of the boot and I know I would have lost toenails on the downhill with these boots. I returned them and got a 8.5; they were too big--much too wide when I moved up the half size. My hiking partner bought them from me and they fit her perfectly. Guess they just aren't sized right for my feet. Going back to the Merrell's, they always fit perfect...

Zappos has always given me great service. Disappointed with my Targhee II Mid Keens. This is my second pair. Can't seem to break them in. First pair were very comfortable and broke in quickly. Thinking that Keen is doing something different with this shoe. Will probably not purchase Keen shoes again. Too expensive to not be comfortable. Just don't enjoy wearing them. I have been trying to break them in for 5 months!

Because I love my Keen sandals, I thought I'd try the boots. I ordered up one size based on previous reviews. And the foot part is very comfortable. But the ankles rub! I think it's a design flaw. The uppermost plastic hook for the laces appears to be attached to - or molded as one piece - to a flat plastic disc that is sandwiched between the inner and outer leather layers. That makes it stiff and it rubs. If not of that, I would love the boots.

This is my third pair of Keen Targhee II Mids, and the soles of the first two pairs began coming apart after about a year in each case. I wear these boots almost daily, so wearing them out was not unexpected. However, on my latest pair, wear began much sooner. After just five months, the eyelet second from bottom (through which shoe lace is threaded) pulled out of the stitching. I had it repaired, but after another month, the third eyelet from the base also pulled out. This week I will drive 120 miles round trip from my rural residence to have it sewn back in place again. I expected more from Keens, and I will definitely consider another brand of boots in the future.

These boots were super cute - but cut my ankles so they had to go back. I bought a pair of the La Sportiva FC Eco 3.2 - and they are wonderful -- much better made. They fit like a glove.

I normally wear a 5.0, but ordered a 5.5 based on reviews that these run small. The 5.5 were still so tight they made my feet numb just sitting on the couch! Had to return them, so I have no idea how they perform.
