I like them! Very comfortable sneakers. I wear them for both work and hanging out with my friends. My only complaints are that they feel REALLY stiff and fit a bit snug when new, however after a week of wear they break in and feel great.

A comfortable classic - A little stiff at first, but with regular wear, break in smoothly and maintain good support. As a casual shoe, they are comfortable enough for all day wear and breathe well. If you are someone who often finds themselves between sizes, order up.

The best of the best - Sharp, simple and durable these are the words that describe my all time favorite shoe. I have owned 5 pairs of Laver's the first was a pair of blue leather I owned them for two years, in that time I spilled kool-aid on them since they were stained I decided to make them my work shoes. The best lasted one year of service and were intact, so I bought another pair, and another. These are high quality shoes at a very reasonable price.

Great shoe - They are so comfortable and good for any occasion. I just wish they offered more color variety. From now on I will buy my shoes here. Thanks Zappos!

My 21 year old son was very happy with this shoe. I needed a size 14 and you had a good selection. He liked this shoe a lot.

Fantastic Shoe !!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SHOE !!!!!!! The only thing that could be better is if it were to be offered in more colors.

Not great for women - These are great-looking sneakers, but they are really designed and sized for men. The correlation to women's sizing is off, mainly in the proportions. The whole toe area down to ball of the foot is too wide, probably for most women; so, the sneakers buckle at the front when laced for a secure fit. I love the look, but they are not as comfortable as they should be -- and they certainly are not suited for actually playing tennis. FRUSTRATING.

Great looking shoe but a bit snug. Great classic-looking shoe. Attractive w/o looking like you're TRYING to be retro. Unfortunately these, like other old school Adidas I've tried, are very narrow. Love the look but they're too uncomfortable too wear.

Awesome!!!!!! I love these shoes! I have about twenty pairs of shoes that are in regular rotation and these are by far my favorite. They fit great, I am on my feet a lot and these respond better then the Nike Impax I used to swear by. I wish Adidas would offer these in more colors. If you are thinking of buying these shoes buy two pair!

Remember, it's a tennis shoe - I don't like to give out 5 stars too liberally, because then there's nothing to improve on, so remember that when looking at my scores. They just get somewhat uncomfortable when I've been wearing them for extended periods of time, but I may be tying them too tightly. They may feel a bit odd at first if you bought them to use as a casual shoe, because they are tennis shoes, so they are built for lots of lateral movement. They do tend to get dirty pretty quickly, so be careful!

Don't judge a shoe by its brand - Over the years I’ve been satisfied with Adidas quality shoes. But upon receiving these Rod Laver's I had to reevaluate my judgment. The shoe looks great out of the box, but take a picture, because it will never look near that decent again. After only 6 hours of wearing these shoes had accumulated dirt on the toe and tongue area, and excessively on the mid-heel area. No amount of bleach helped remove the stain, and I was only able to wear them once more before retiring them. Only consider these if you live in a bubble.

Great classic shoes - Was very uncomfortable for few days but after broken in, they are very comfortable. I gave 4 stars because the shoe laces get dirty probably from the metal parts. I am very satisfied with my purchase overall.

Stylish Sneaker - My son had requested these sneakers specifically and really likes them, although it took a short while to "break them in." Zappos was the only place he found them. Ordered online late evening and did not expect them to arrive for a couple of days. What a surprise when they were delivered the very next morning! That was just so terrific, great service from Zappos!!

Adidas is slipping on quality - These shoes look great, and they're not entirely uncomfortable, but the quality of materials used is very questionable. Whereas the original Rod Lavers (I believe) had a traditional hard rubber outsole (as all tennis-specific shoes do), Adidas has instead used the softer midsole polyurethane material for both the midsole and outsole. The result? traction is a problem with these shoes out of the box. I nearly slipped and fell several times while walking on concrete/tile floors the first time I wore them. This does improve as the outsole gets scuffed up by the ground, but it just seemed ridiculous to me since these are TENNIS shoes! I can only guess that the Adidas "Originals" line is dedicated only to visual reproduction, and not quality or performance. Too bad, Adidas, I'll definitely try other "originals" shoes in store before buying.

Old but New! The Original! Absolute comfort in any situation. I'm a barber, so I'm on my feet all day. These Rod Laver's have a simple look, with a high tech feel...

Zappos is the best! I just wanted to send my outmost appreciation to Zappos and their excellent customer service. I actually ordered my Adidas Rod Laver's from another site and I was quoted a date of when my shipment would come in and it ended up not coming in until 2 weeks later. So I ordered my shoes on Zappos and told the customer service rep and she was great! Very helpful and she really worked with me. I ended up getting my shoes the next day with the free overnight shipping. I'm very happy with the shoes and very happy that I was able to use Zappos.com; I definitely will use you again and definitely spread the word about your site.

A Classic - From first glance of the Rod Lavers I was hooked. Yeah, there are some really cool, modern styled, sneakers out there, but this is a classic look that I'm into. It could be due to that I'm considered a classic myself or maybe that its style hearkens back to the sneakers when I was growing up. Who knows? Past that, it's very comfortable and light for getting around the court. Though, I’m not as quick as I used to be and it takes me longer to get to those wide shots, it’s not the fault of the Rod Lavers. It’s the fact that I’m pushing 45 and up until I started playing tennis again, the only physical thing I did was push a mouse around on my computer. Getting back to the style thing, when I wear my Rod Lavers to the office the “young kids” think they are “groovy”. “Groovy”, now there’s a word you don’t hear much anymore.

Good shoes - Mine had some green streaks on the uppers, but otherwise look great. Fit true and comfortable.

Great casual shoe! It is really too bad that Adidas stopped making these (they aren't even on the Adidas website) because they are comfy, preppy, and hold up very well. Get your hands on them before they are gone forever! (I have 3 pairs already).

Rod Lavers - This was the first pair of Adidas that I have bought that were uncomfortable. The shoes took about a week to break in and left my feet in a lot of pain after the first couple of days. They are very narrow and even loosening the laces didn't help. The shoes feel great now, but they are hard to keep clean because of the fabric that is used.

Great shoe until it fell apart - I loved my Rod Lavers - I had a pair 20 years ago and loved them then as well - but the sole started to come apart after only 3 months. True, I’m on my feet all day, but I’m not particularly hard on shoes. The soles of these started shredding and falling off in chunks! I bought ‘em for summer, but they didn't make it through spring.

Love it. Nice and breathable for summer. Super cute with jeans, capris. Good and versatile summer shoe.

Footbag - These shoes are amazing for footbag. If you’re into doing some advanced tricks or just having a chill hacky sack game with some buds, then this is the must have shoe.

Nice shoes - These shoes are an ace everytime. I love them. I also thought they were much more comfortable than I had read on the other reviews.
