Seems true to size, however forefoot, especially ball of the foot, lack cush and therefore comfort.

Not Happy - I'm not happy with the fit at all. It's too late to return them because I've had to wear them a few times. I have to wear very thin socks. If I don't, I can't walk in them for more than 5 minutes. I ordered a 12M & in normal shoes from Zappos a 12M is a little too big.

I have always bought shoes in medium (B) width and have never had a problem with them being too narrow. So I purchased this shoe in medium, but to my surprise, my feet had no wiggle room and my right foot was actually very uncomfortable. Just walking around the house, my foot was going numb. Since I heard so many great things about New Balance, I decided to give them another chance and reordered in wide width. I'm hoping for the best.

This 621 is nothing like the predecessor 620. It is very uncomfortable for me. It seems to be a clunky shoe and looks like it could have a flange on the sides at the front, more so on the outside sole than the inside. I think this makes walking in them a little difficult for me. . I have feet and knee problems and this shoe just doesn't work for me. I started a search for maybe another NB shoe that would be ok and have maybe found the 602 to be a little better for me. I really had a good thing going with the 620 and the predecessors to that one, but the 621 just fell apart for me. It had taken me a lot of trial and error with NB shoes before finding the 620 line so was really disappointed when the 621 gave me so many problems.

Kansas - Up until the 621 I had really liked these shoes. Couldn't quite figure out what the difference was, except for the strobel last was different than the previous shoes. I checked New Balance web site and see this particular last isn't even on there. My feet work better with the SL-2 last. Shoes felt clunky when I walked. Finally figured out that my heel in this shoe felt like it sat lower in the shoe. Maybe this was because of the different last. Will be trying to find another NB shoe that will work for me like the 620 and ones previous to that did. Can't say I find this shoe very comfortable. I have problems with my feet and knees and the SL-2 last seems to work so much better for my feet. New Balance was also recommended to my by a doctor and I don't plan on changing to another brand unless it is absolutely necessary!

Will keep searching - These shoes made my feet appear larger. I order a 7.5 and they are a bit big. I'll be returning them.

Narrower then expected in the toe - This shoe was narrower and stiffer then expected. Not as comfortable as I would have liked. Also not as light as one would wish.

Not bad looking but heavy - The shoe is a lot heavier than I expected. My foot slid back, too. I have wide feet and the width was good. The shoes look nice. I'm returning them because I need a more light-weight shoe.

NB drops the ball! Zappos has been wonderful and I thank you for great hassle free service! I am a room service food server in a large hotel. I average 7-10 miles a night carrying things so a cross trainer was the way to go for me...I wear through a pair of shoes every 3.5-4 months - I expect that. I have been wearing this particular model or a close variation of for the last 3 years and had no problems until this year! I bought a pair and within 3 weeks the inside padding on the back of the heel wore through to the rubber cup on the other side on both shoes. I returned them as defective and got another pair, and they held up a little better, these lasted only 2 months, until the padding started falling apart and the rubber no longer cushioned my stride causing me pain both during and after my shift. My knees back and the plantar's facitis that I once had and hasn't bothered me in 4 years is now back, I blame the substandard quality that NB has adopted this year. I DO NOT recommend these shoes if you have 1. high arches 2. expect them to hold up for anything but walking around the mall now and then. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in NB and will be going with a different brand.

nothing NB, they've lowered their standards

When I opened the box with the shoes I thought of my granfather as they reminded me of the sneakers I had been buying for him for years. I found the shoes to be unforgiving and they would not break in at all. I am training for a half marathon and after walking six miles the top of my big toe was bruised from the pressure on the shoe. My lower back, hips, knees and ankles hurt after wearing the shoes for more than an hour. Sorry New Balance, but Asics has my vote.

Ouch! These shoes KILL my feet. I have never walked in a more pain-inducing pair of shoes, and I include pencil-point toe, stiletto heels in my comparison group. This pain came as a big surprise since I had liked New Balance shoes in the past. Most reviews I read about these shoes said they were comfortable and provided good support, which is what I want for my daily fitness walking. Walking in these shoes is what I imagine it must feel like to walk in wooden shoes like Hans Brinker. When I first got these, I noticed that there was absolutely NO bend or flexibility to them, but I figured they'd be okay after a breaking-in period since they were NB. That proved to be an incorrect assumption. My toes go NUMB in these shoes after walking just a few blocks due to the lack of ANY flexibility across the ball of the foot. This area needs to flex as you walk. After a few more blocks, my feet ache all over. Things are very tight in the toe box even though I ordered wide width; there's virtually no wiggle room down there in that cast iron shoe. After months of trying to soften these babies up, it's just not happening. Wish I could get the money I wasted on these back; but now that they've been used on pavement that is not possible. I won't be ordering anything else made by New Balance, but I still adore Zappos.
I'd also recommend:
nothing by New Balance; I am very happy with Saucony products.

Sore Feet - This shoe did not provide any support for me. I felt like I was walking on hard rubber and after wearing them for 4 hours my feet killing me. They fit perfect but provided no support. I greatly prefer NB608.
