Awesome Sandal -
This sandal is the only footwear I wear during the spring, summer, and fall. I would wear them throughout the winter if I wasn't afraid of frostbite. By far the most comfortable footwear I ever put on my foot.

Great summertime sandal!
A great sandal for getting out and doing stuff in. They appear to be well constructed, so I expect to get many years of wear from them. For hanging out in the back yard, give me simple flip flops, but these are perfect for more adventurous activities. A little tricky to get the straps adjusted just right, but otherwise a very well fitting and comfortable sandal. They also require more effort than velcro strapped sandals to get on and off, but they do stay firmly on your feet.

Great sandals!
Having had problems with my feet over the past few years, regular sandals either weren't comfortable and/or offered no support. These sandals offer support, are comfortable, and look great. The best I've found!

Chaco Z/2 is amazing -
I absolutely love my Chaco’s. I went rock climbing and ended up the second day having the shoes hiked three miles. They are great for hiking to the crag. I have no complaints at all.

Wonderful Sandals -
These are the best sandals I've had and pretty much the only ones I wear anymore. They are extremely comfortable and wear very well. I have even used them while backpacking with a full load (35+ lbs) with no issues. They are my favorite pair of footwear. Yes, they are expensive, but considering they can be resoled and straps can be redone, it's worth it. Plus, I have friends who have had pairs for years without needing a resole.

Chaco Z/2 -
After seeing the Chaco revolution in my town, seeing almost everyone wearing them, I decided to try these out. They are very comfortable, and cool looking for sandals. Adjust the straps as they tell you to, leaving room for your finger to fit under them, and they fit very well. You don’t even notice the toe strap when you adjust them like that. I have narrow feet, and the heel risers are almost to narrow even for me, so I would go for wide if you have average feet.

Excellent sandals -
After reading a review in LifeTime Fitness magazine, I ordered a pair for my husband. He loves them. He was loyal to Teva brand, but we couldn't repair them. I like the fact that you can repair Chaco's. They are environmentally friendly. He said they are VERY comfortable and has received a lot of compliments from people on the street. My one complaint is the ankle strap is too long. We do not want to cut it for fear that the strap will begin to fray, however it does hang down and sometimes drags on the ground. Otherwise, the shoe is everything advertised.

GREAT upgrade over previous model-
Chaco hit a grand slam with these. This new version of the Z/2 is fantastic. They are much lighter than previous models and seem to have a much shorter break-in period. Don't let the price tag scare you away. These are well worth the extra cost over last year's sale models. One other note... the placement of Chaco's logo is on the buckle and looks more appealing than it did previously on the strap outside the ankle.

Very happy with my purchase of the Chacos. I bought these to use during a 4 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. I wore them every day and they were great for being on the raft and also ideal for day hikes when walking through creeks and scrambling up rocks. They were comfortable and never caused any discomfort.

I like these, but I can see how Chacos might not be for everyone. You occasionally see comments about Chacos from people who are still "getting used to" them. But here's the deal: Either they fit, or they don't. There's really not an in between. The arch support is aggressive, the footbed is firm, and the heel cup area is very sculpted -- which in my case made for a very tight fit. It took me 3 pairs (and 2 returns) before I settled on a fit -- turns out I am an 11 wide. But it was worth the trouble. (Special thanks to Zappos for their generous return policy.) It's really hard to go back to something without arch support after wearing these, not to mention that they don't get ratty and smelly like Tevas do. They're really sharp, and the toe loop keeps them much more secure. Team Toe Loop!

I took these on a week long hiking/canoeing/camping trip and they worked pretty darn well. I did get pretty tired of always having damp feet and wished I had a burly pair of hiking boots at times, but you can't just step out of a canoe into 2 feet of water in those. I found that the best way to wear them may be with the straps rather loose, otherwise the big toe loop gets uncomfortably tight. Consider rounding down half a size so that the fixed ankle strap remains snug while the adjustable part can be kept loose, or just get the Z-1s.

Pricy, but a perfect beach/water shoe -
The Chaco Z/2 Unasweep. It's easy to wear, easy to clean, and is a perfect sandal for the beach or for wet hiking conditions. It is also eco-friendly, made from recycled fibers and rubber. It is pricy, but it does seem that it will last a long time. I've tried on water shoes by Adidas, Columbia, Keen, and Teva. These are by far the best-looking and the easiest to clean. No regrets on this choice.

I am a woman with wide feet and high arches. I ordered the smallest men's size in wide. I am replacing two pairs that are wearing out that are many years old. I liked the old ones better because the wide was a different style, without the "aggressive arch support". Now the wide is the same as the regular width. When I first saw the old style, I thought "Oh, they think all wide feet are flat feet!" But, their misconception was to my benefit as the old shoes are more comfortable. The new shoes feel good when I'm wearing them, but my feet and knees have been sore after wearing them. Because I have high arches, I don't usually experience arch support putting much pressure on my arches when I step or filling so much of the space under my arches. I have come to the conclusion that healthy arches protect our joints like shock absorbers and that too much arch support is not a good thing. Maybe it's something you have to get used to. I love the look and the fit is pretty decent. I'm sure I'll wear these, though not as much as the old style. Now that my best option for sandals isn't as good, I plan to spend the time I would have spent shopping for something else learning to make my own sandals.

Comfortable -
The arch support is wonderful. The toe strap is a little strange to get used to and it seems to tighten while wearing the sandals. I wish the heel strap adjusted and I wish you could take up the slack of the strap that crosses the top of your foot with another pull tab in the back. Other than those items, I really like the sandals.

Good sandal -
The toe strap is a bit hard to get used to if you have not worn this style before. Comfort wise it's pretty good, I think my keens are a bit more comfortable if you like a softer insole with more arch (like me). Has a nice clean style to it.

I needed a new pair of sportier sandals and decided to try the toe loop. It was really a love/hate relationship with these. When I first tried them I thought, "Great, the toe loop doesn't really bother me." But after a few times walking around, my feet were being tortured by the straps and my big toe was getting pulled in every direction. The shoes are well made but I expected more cushion, though. And the risen part near the heel would be fine, but then made walking a pain. Like I said, I think most will love or hate these.

Chaco Z Unaweep -
Generally a comfortable sandal part of the time. Feels good on the feet 45% of the time. One issue in design impacts comfort -- the cinch strap is too long. Once tightened to hold the sandal on the foot the length is such that the strap gets under the foot about half the time. The end of the strap is thick enough to make this generally annoying when this happens. Also, sometimes the plastic buckle can dig into the foot making a cut. The one design short fall negatively impacts the comfort of this otherwise solid sandal. I guess you could cut the strap to shorten it -- would still not overcome the problem with the plastic buckle cutting into the skin.

After using the sandals for a month, I must say that while these are fine, they are far from the best pair I have owned. The toe strap is kind of annoying, and the upper side of the sole could be made better.

Uncomfortable!
completely useless. The ridges on the side dig into the soles because the strap can't prevent side-to-side foot movement. The toe strap irritates the great toe. Very disappointing esp. considering the high price. OH, and they are heavy!

Great/comfy shoe. Perfect for hikes or music festivals. Be prepared to work for a bit in the beginning to find your true size. Once the straps are fitted, you're good to go!

Purchased these as well as the Chaco Rex as I was not sure which I would like. I figured I would want these and my wife would prefer the Rex. Ended up the other way around! The Z/2 Unaweep has a stiff sole! It also "hugs" your heel and provides more arch support than the Rex. Great for long walks or hiking in the mountains, but I just wanted an everyday-around-town shoe. Rex was perfect for me as there was no break-in period and it formed immediately to my foot. Note: Chaco only makes whole sizes. For the Z/2 or Rex, if you are between sizes (like I am) then you should probably go down in size. This is because the back strap does not adjust and the toe strap will hit in front of your toe knuckle instead of behind it if you go up in size.

I bought these for my husband for Father's Day. He loves them, they are very comfortable and he can run around with the kids and they stay on his feet. He usually goes through one pair of sandals a summer, and they fall apart! I got him these because I think they will hold up much longer, they seem very tough!

Lighter and more comfortable than the older yampa chaco (which I returned and Zappos was great about) I'm hoping to not ever worry about buying another sandle. I wear a 9 1/2 and the 9 fit perfect.
