Love my Chacos!
This is my third pair of Chaco sandals. While I would have simply sent in my last pair to be resoled, the newest iteration is quite a bit lighter than the older ones, which is a great advantage if you'll be doing a lot of walking in these sandals. I love them. They are extremely versatile: I have run in them, swam in them, played sports in them, hiked to Machu Picchu in them, and danced the night away in them. I'll always have at least one pair on hand. The only odd part I have found is that I couldn't fit into my normal chaco size (12). I had to go up one size in this new one...don't know if the sizing is slightly different or if my feet have grown.

Overall, this is a very good shoe. It's especially great if you are in and out of water a lot while wearing them. My only complaint is regarding the toe strap. If you are not used to having your toe restrained, it may be a little uncomfortable.

I bought these as a potential sandal to wear while venturing out on a Round-The-World (RTW) trip. I needed something that was fashionable, discreet, comfortable, lightweight, and would hold up over time and against the elements. Chaco's are definitely a great option, but they were definitely too heavy and just so big. I felt like I had platforms on. Comfort was okay. I instead went with a pair of Olukai Ohanas, thong style. Very happy about that choice.

I tried to like these sandals. I kept them for over a year, wearing them off and on in hopes that I would eventually find them as comfortable as most other wearers do but I never did. Now I'm giving them away to charity. I found the footbed cross-hatch design to be uncomfortable on the soles of my feet over the course of a day. And the placement of the heel straps induced blisters at the sides of my heels. I visited the Chaco's website to see how to adjust the straps to get a better fit but the straps were placed so tightly the it was nearly impossible to get the fit right. Overall, these sandals were a big disappointment at a relatively high cost. I can't imagine ever buying another pair or encouraging anyone else to try them.

I really want to like these shoes. They have good arch support and kept my feet undamaged while hiking over lava rocks. I can wear them to the beach or for a hike in the mountains. Chacos likes to advertise that their adjustable straps really make their shoes special. However, the adjustable straps are really a downfall. Sand or dirt is bound to get in the slits, making them impossible to adjust or clean properly. I'm considering having my cobbler glue the straps down so that they cannot adjust. This shoe is too high-maintenance for a nylon/rubber sandal.

More expensive than most sneakers, and less to them. Adjustable straps leave holes in the foot bed, meaning your first trip to the beach will probably get sand jammed in there, seizing up the straps and preventing them from adjusting in the future. I wear a size 14 in most shoes, and these ran much larger.

These shoes gave my husband blisters after the first day! I would not recommend these; however, I will always recommend Zappos for their excellent customer service!
