I have used Crumpler for years, and they are durable and weatherproof. But I wanted something a bit more subdued, more versatile for teaching and traveling, something which was as useful on a bike in the rain as in a classroom or conference venue. This bag foots the bill magnificently. I am impressed with build quality, with the design, with the number of pockets and compartments (seem to find new ones each time I use it!), it is hard wearing, good looking, and comfortable. I can walk around with it as a briefcase or on the bike as a messenger bag. I travel a lot by plane so am looking forward to trying it through airports. So glad I went for this. The amount of thought that went into this design is evident.

Traded in well loved 2009 commute that was still in great shape for its age. Wanted the larger sized bag for my work 15" MacBook. Great bag plenty of room and very comfortable. And timbuk2 quality. My wife inherited the 2009 bag, it's still in use.

Carry as a satchel for work and travel.

I use this to go to and from work. I don't need it to carry too much but it could certainly carry more. It is stylish and comfortable to carry

I have been using this bag exclusively for a few months. It's exactly what I've wanted from a Timbuk2 bag for a long time. I used an earlier model Commute several years ago when I lugged a heavy MacBook Pro to and from the office. I most recently used a large Special Edition Messenger for travel and commute. This bag meets all my needs without being too bulky or sporting too many compartments. I love that I can keep the front flap untethered and not worry about anything spilling out. The cross strap support is perfect for biking or just extra security. I put phones, small notepads, my work laptop, and chargers all in the back compartment, which is very easy to access.

I teach and this bag goes to and from school everyday. I can throw everything in it and I'm ready to go. It's durable to go from desk to floor to car. I absolutely love it!!

I'm a web developer and tech geek. I travel a lot and prefer a messenger bag over a back pack. I'm often carrying a 13" Macbook Pro (sometimes two when traveling for work) a tablet or two, and all the power chargers and cables and such that go with that. This bag accommodates it all. It's really hard to find a bag with a luggage strap on the back (so it slides down over my suitcase handle in airports) and a zipper on the front flap (for phone, wallet and earbuds through TSA security). The front compartment is also roomy enough that I can pack a change of clothes for a single night business trip. There's plenty of pouches and storage inside the bag and it slings and wears very comfortably, especially with the shoulder padded strap. It's awesome. It's the best bag I've ever purchased.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend for college. He loves the bag. He specifically likes that it has a lot of pockets and the zippered laptop space. There is plenty of room for his books, notebooks, and a few snacks. He says the strap is very comfortable as well, making it easy to carry. He also likes the color scheme and the style.

I saw that it was on sale and I needed a bag for my laptop and my lunch. It works great.

Very impressed by the quality of this bag. I recently made the plunge from a standard backpack into a messenger bag. I had purchased another brand previously but wasn't happy with the space and quality of the other bag purchased. Prior to returning the other bag I saw Timbuk2 had a sale and one of the bags I was interested in just so happened to have been included in it. After receiving my new messenger bag I was extremely satisfied with not only the quality but the spacious interior. I use this bag as my everyday carry. I have a copious amount of storage space for my computer and computer accessories as well as my drawing supplies. I am very impressed with this bag and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to purchase a Timbuk2 bag.

I purchased this to protect my iPad Pro from my active and accident prone life. It is primarily for my daily commute, but was PERFECT, not only as a carry on for a recent cross country flight, but also the only bag needed for a three day trip to the mountains. During my flight another passenger spilled their entire drink directly on top of this bag, but the water just puddled on top and I wiped it off. Im very pleased. Now, please create a matching rolling carry on suitcase. Thank you!

Great separate compartment for my laptop / ipad. Large main pocket for keys, pens, chargers, etc. Enough room for my lunch, extra sweatshirt, etc.

This bag is top notch. I was really excited to order it after reading the features and specs online....turns out the bag is even better in person, the website doesn't do it justice. The bag is extremely high quality and has become an extension of me since I take it everywhere I go. I have the Large size due to my work laptop dimensions and the bag isn't obnoxious or bulky at all like you get with the more traditional and rigid laptop bags. There's enough room for all my electronics, my work binders as well as snacks, a water bottle (or two) and an umbrella. My only critique for the company would be to include more pictures of the inside with size perspective and the outside showing the quality of the stitching. I highly recommend this product and wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.

I love this bag because I have a place to put everything! I fly several times each month and was tired of digging through my backpack to find what I needed. Now, there are enough pockets so that my important things each have a designated spot. Great bag!

Great bag. I encourage purchasers to customize it. Make it yours! Only design change would be to make the outside mesh pockets larger to better accommodate a 1/2 liter bottle.

I've been looking for the perfect messenger bag for a long time, and this bag has allowed me to end my search. It is perfect in every way for my needs: Roomy, light weight, comfortable strap, multiple storage pockets, easy to open and access contents. And it's attractive. The one (and only) thing I wish were better is the key fob, which needs to be more robust. It's too small, too flimsy. Other than that, it's the ideal bag. The fact that It has a separate compartment to store computer/tablet etc. is icing on the cake. I use the bag for my daily commutes plus weekend trips.

Can one love an inanimate object? Yes when it's the commute laptop bag.I bought the medium bag and it,s perfect for my needs. The computer compartment holds my Toshiba Satellite and IPad and other stuff like boarding passes could be put here for easy access. The main compartment is roomy and accommodates my journals and a small lunch. I have a small umbrella in one of the outer water bottle compartments. I worried about the weight with everything I have in it but the carrying strap is very comfortable. Last but not least it's very attractive.

I use this messenger bag 24/7. I love it and am obsessed with it. I occasionally overload with too much heavy things for a day but to say the least its roomy enough to pile all my stuff in! Love the back compartment for electronics. Brilliant. Don't have much to complain about except I should probably switch sides for the sake of my ahoulders since I tend to load it up since it so roomy even though it doesn't look it!

Was looking for a new briefcase for work. Have a Timbuk2 messenger bag from years ago and it's still in great shape. Knew the quality and design was there, now they added style for the office!

So far, this bag has handled the abuse of a Denver winter without batting an eye. Or flap. Plenty of room, lots of little pockets, a place for everything. Right now it's covered in snow, on a commuter train, and I know my books and electronics are safe and dry.

I'm a teacher and this is the best school bag I've ever had.

Great quality bag that traveled well through several airports and various meeting sites. Loved the ability to slip this onto my rolling bag for easy of walking in the airports. I would highly recommend this bag.
