Love so much about this. Easy access to computer without getting into main pocket. The major flaw is the velcro strap is useless. The Velcro parts don't even match up unless the bag is completely full. And then it is too heavy and they pull apart. You have to use the buckles all the time and that is tedious. One vertical Velcro patch doesn't get it. Fix that and it would be my favorite Timbuktu product and I have many.

I loved the 2014 Commute Laptop messenger bag so when I needed to get another one, I figured that this was the obvious choice. Where I saw that the 2014 didn't have a dedicated, easily accessible outside pocket for my smartphone or super comfy shoulder padding, this 2015 version seemed to have that. HOWEVER, the 2015 version is lacking in a lot of other ways that made me go back to the 2014 bag.
My biggest gripe is that the strap that keeps the bag on your rolling luggage outright sucks. Instead of the wide, traditional strap that is seen with other bags that fit on top of your rolling luggage handles, the 2015 bag only has a thin strap with a tiny piece of velcro that is supposed to keep it tightly connected to the luggage handles. IT DOES NOT DO THAT. On the very first trip where I used the 2015, it fell off the luggage handles multiple times no matter how careful I was with using the velcro. It was exceedingly frustrating to have the messenger bag fall off and drag on the ground as I was trying to get through the subway and airport quickly. ABSOLUTELY HATED IT. WOULD BURN THIS BAG IF I COULD BECAUSE OF THIS POOR DESIGN.
Otherwise, as a commuter messenger bag, it's fine. The construction is good. It feels very sturdy and is a good size. The pockets are much bigger and deeper than the 2014 version, which is good if you have a lot of stuff but is bad if you're not a fan of digging through a lot of little items looking for the USB that has sunk to the bottom.
All in all, it's poorly designed and left me truly angry at whoever the inexperienced designer it was who thought that it would be a decent travel messenger.

This bag is so close to perfection, but there's a huge flaw in the shoulder strap. One side of the strap has an adjustable clamp that is supposed to make the bag easy to adjust, but it doesn't securely clamp into place. At least every other day, the clamp completely falls out, so the bag drops down uncomfortably.
I will admit that I'm hard on my bags. I do a roundtrip flight about every week AND commute by Caltrain every day that I'm not traveling. The bag in so many ways is perfect - it's easy to unzip the laptop when TSA Pre-Check is closed, the inside pockets organize everything I need, and the outside bottle holders keep water handy. The front pocket is a little too small for my iPhone 6 with case, but I can make it work. I also love (LOVE!) that the bag attaches to my carry-on roller bag.
I really just can't re-adjust the shoulder strap when I'm on the run. If you use the bag less often, you might be able to make it work. I might try to exchange mine for something else.

Over priced and not enough compartments. If you buy from Canada you will get nailed for duties.

Ordered a black medium messenger bag. The same as what a colleague had. Received a small. I'm now told it is not returnable!
Thank you for nothing. I cannot help if your internet service portal burped. I know what I ordered-MEDIUM!
Who wants a free bag?

The male portion of the buckle clip broke in the first month of use during a cold spell. I contacted customer service to purchase a replacement, but since these are smaller than the 1" replacements they sell, I was told they can't replace it. Too bad Timbuk2 doesn't stand behind their products...

This product was delivered to the wrong address, dispite my relentless attempts to get in touch with customer service through email and phone calls. It was delivered with a tear on the outside of the nylon. I'd heard good things about timbuk2 and was thoroughly disappointed with every aspect of my experience.
